Outrageously Expensive 10/16/2013

I was ripped off by ACE last week. We have an annual contract with ACE, which is supposed to offer us a 15% discounted rate on service. This doesn't really help though when their services charges are ridiculously overpriced. I was charged $275.73 for "diagnostic, reset water closet with seal" - which basically is a translation for removing the toilet and resealing it. I had "diagnosed" the problem by pointing out that the toilet was wobbly. Then I was charged $364.51 for a toilet flange replacement. I have since called my brother-in-law, who is a contractor, and he says that it should have have cost $200.... $400 max. $650 for a toilet flange replacement is way overpriced according to everything I find on the web as well. I was told that the customer service manager would call me back last week... still no response. Very disappointed. more

Had a new panel box installed 10/4/2013

I had ACE out for some work and unfortunately they had a problem that caused me a problem . Needless to say, the company went beyond to make it right in every aspect. The work was so professionally done that an A+ would not be fair. Would I use ACE again? In a heartbeat!!! Very honest and fair. more

Costly for services 9/20/2013

I had an appointment for 0800 today, no call finally at 1030 I called and they said they called the number given but must have miss dialed. Showed up and were nice enough but to repair four fluorescent lights was a little over $800!!! Did not have work done, still cost me $89 for the service call. Wow more

Never use your company again 8/15/2013

Too expensive and tried to sell me other repairs. New fire alarms. Which I don't need and didn't ask about For some reason went into my bedroom and checked if that was the same as the one in the living room. Of course he wanted to sell me two. I will never recommend your company in fact I will honestly tell anyone to not use your services. I was alsocharged a fuel charge of $14.95. What's that about. Never had that with any other co. Or service. The price was over the top on everything. I feel like I was taken advantage of. I rate you as a zero in all depts. especially not being up front about prices until the tech was in the house. more

PRICE HIGH TECH 1 HR LATE HE STATED HE SLEEPED IN WORKING LATE YOU SHOULD HAVE PAID ME $ 20 FOR MY 1 HR WAIT TIME AT LEAST CALL ADVISE OF REPAIR AND DID GOOD JOB. I STARTED TO WORK ON MY TOILET PRIOR TO MY OUTSIDE LEAK ASKED TECH IF HE CAN FINISH REPAIR HE ADVISE SURE NO PROBLEM CHARGED $99 FOR 1/2 HR TO FINISH MY JOB I PURCHASED ALL PARTS. I WORKED IN LAW ENFORCEMENT FOR 20 YRS NEVER RECEIVED $99.00 FOR A 1/2 HR WRITTEN REPORT WHEN YOU CALL AND ADVISE TECH WILL BE THERE BY 8 A.M. YOU SHOULD AT LEAST CALL BACK IF THE TECH IS GOING TO BE 1HR LATE IF I AM 1 HR LATE FOR WORK IT COST ME $20 more

I called ACE electrical at the last minute when the TV installer told me he couldn't put a power receptical behind the TV. They were able to come out in less than 3 hours notice. And installed the outlet in minutes. THANK YOU TONY! more

Jerry and Patrick were not only friendly, knowledgeable and professional but they took time to answer all my questions and make sure I was satisfied. They were very thorough and efficient in how they assessed the A/C system and I would highly recommend them! more

$600 per hour to fix a plugged up sink 2/19/2013

This has to be the most expensive plumbing service in Orlando. $348.00 for 10 minutes to clean a sink trap of hair. Left the unit without replacing the plunger or stopper telling us to get a replacement and call him to come put it in - for another $279.00!!! Outrageous cost and lousy service. more

Bad Way To Start a Relationship 1/18/2013

I've listened to the ACE people on the radio on Saturday morning....seemed like a respectable, honest company. So, I called them earlier this week and scheduled an appointment for them to check out my duct work. They sold me their $99 package, which I thought sounded like a reasonable deal. My appointment time was between 10-12 today. No one showed, so shortly after noon I called the company. The fellow that answered apologized, and said for some reason, I wasn't on the schedule! However, Gino was finished with his last job and could be at my house shortly. I told the guy that I had plans for the afternoon, and if Gino could arrive quickly, we could probably get the work done. 1:00 arrived, and still no one. I called the company back. I was told Gino was on his way and his GPS indicated he was 15 minutes away. At 1:55 Gino finally arrived. By now, it's too late. I've waited all day to take my shower (anticipating that the doorbell would ring while I was in there), and I have to be somewhere at 3:00. I told Gino I was less than happy with the service to this point. He told me I was scheduled for a 2:00 - 4:00 appointment! Interesting...I was told I wasn't on the schedule at all! I don't like being lied to. I don't like being "lead on". Both were done to me. I informed Gino I would look for another company that treated me better. He left, and now you know the rest of the story!! more

Ripped off 11/30/2012

I called ACE because my air conditioner wasn't working. They came a little late, no big deal. The nice technician then proceeded to inspect my air conditioner. He asked me all these other questions so he could sell me service plans. I said no to all of them. He said I needed my capacitor replaced. The charge for replacement of the capacitor was going to be 413. I unfortunately did not call other companies to see what the charge. He seemed like a nice guy so I made the mistake of thinking he charged a fair price. He also said I needed to change my fan motor which would cost 563.49, keep this is mind for later. The next time I turned on the air conditioner, which was a week later, it did not work. I then started to wonder what other companies charge, I called 4 other companies on average they charge 180, can you believe they actually charge 413 just to change a capacitor. I asked my friend to call ACE and get a quote over the phone for a dual capacitor replacement, they wouldnt give it. Every other company does, hmmmmm, why is that??? I then called ACE and asked if I could at least get a partial refund as they completely ripped me off. I was willing to pay a fair price of $ 230. I spoke to the customer service rep and after calling back multiple times they said no. I was able to speak to the manager and he said All your trying to do is take some money back. Really even after your technician was late, the air conditioner broke the next time I turned it on, and your company severely ripped me off. After all this I gave up and asked for a different technician to check what was wrong, as they do have a warranty on their services and labor, even if in my case it was horrible. The next technician was friendly after doing some inspecting he said I needed my air handler and evaporator coil replaced. Why didnt the first technician see that? Also why didnt this technician see that the fan motor needs to be replaced. I have a feeling it doesnt, and the first technician was just trying to juice some money out of me. Know I am down $413, and still have a broken AC. I personally would not recommend ACE of Kissimmee for any services unless they change their customer service and have somewhat competitive prices. more

Nice, but incompetent 11/10/2012

On October 15, 2012, I came home to a flooded side yard due to a leaking "Pressure Vacuum Breaker", which is basically a back-flow prevention valve connected to my lawn irrigation system. The young lady that set up my appointment was very efficient and helpful. The service adviser, Ryan, I believe, while also friendly and courteous, called to let me know that Tremaine H. would be coming in 90 minutes after he finished a job in Kissimmee. I later learned this was a lie, as Tremaine told me he was at home and mine was the first job of his day. Tremaine did not know what to do to repair the problem, but after a couple of phone calls he realized that he did not have the part on his "rolling warehouse" to replace the valve. He said he could order it and then quoted me $1,512.90, plus a $169.99 "family discount plan.". All I could do was laugh and show him the door. I went to Home Depot, bought the same Watts 800M4-QT valve and replaced it myself for $85.00. Obviously, Tremaine quoted the wrong part, but if he had looked on the side of the faulty part, he would have seen the part number, as I did the next day. So, I'm out $69.00 for a wasted service call and have learned who NOT to call the next time I need assistance. more
