The work from this place was top notch and I appreciate all of their help. The car runs better now than it has in a long time.

Worst

Had an engine replaced awhile back. It took them a long time as in 4 weeks to get the work finished. Then a problem and a noise developed with the new engine. So now they had to f...

dont waste your time and money with them 12/10/2010

had them put in a remanufactured engine into my chrysler sebring, after only 34k miles later i was driving down the highway and their engine malfunctioned cuz apparently it was a piece of trash and the whole oil filter blew off it and i was stuck up in bug rapids for 2 hours waiting for a ride. we got it towed back to accurate engines and they said it would be about a month. 4 months later is when i got my car back. they never answered our calls, when they did the guy responsible was always coincidentally out of town or on break and they always said they would give us a call back. not once did we ever receive a call from them. we called them back every week numerous times and they kept telling us that we were under warranty and that they were working on getting the car done. after 2 months of nagging they told us that the engine had been pulled from the car finally. thought progrss was being made, but then they kept saying they couldnt do anything with teh car until they gave us an estimate for the repairs, so we said ok eventhough it was supposed to be on a 100,000 mile warranty that we had to pay for and renew payment for a half year into it. they never ended up giving us a price quote until about a month and a half later after constant calling them and nagging. at that point the manager talked to my mother and yelled at her and told her that they actually werent going to cover it after telling us they would the entire past 3 and a half months and then he hung up on her. we finally went into their office and talked to "george" who honestly is a moron and he tried telling us we werent under warranty and that the engine was overheated and that they werent going to cover it because there was no oil in the engine when they pulled it. wehich we found out they had lied about and had JUST pulled the engine the week before. 3.25 months after they got it in to their shop and a whole month after they lied to us and told us they had pulled it out the first time. i tried telling him that there was no oil because the pressure in the malfunctioning engine blew the oil filter off and it all leaked out but he wouldnt listen. we finally just called our lawyer and ended up settling for a $600 bill with them for a new engine to be put in and we are never talking to them again. they are a bunch of rude, guiltless, crooks with no conscience and no hard feelings about screwing people over. og and dont believe the whole bbb thing they try to throw out. they were an A graded company by the BBB in like 08 or 09 but since then the BBB has dropped them to an F. wonder why. there review states that due to untimely repairs, and horrible customer service the F grade was awarded to them. and thats what they deserve. an F. they suck in every way possible for a garage. how can it take 4 months to get a car back to one of your customers? because they were trying to get out of having to replace the engine. just dont go thru them for your new engine. they will only lie to you and try to cheat you out of what you paid for with the extended warranty. they even tried telling us that we werent in the system under warranty. when they even sent us a bill to renew the service a half year into it for $50. oh not to mention they left my car sitting with a flat sitting on the rim for the entire 4 months it was there. more

Rebuilt Engines From Somebody You Can Trust 12/3/2010

My family has done business with Accurate for over 10 years. We've purchased 3 engines from them for 3 different vehicles in that time and not once were we disappointed with them. These guys provide a quality product and exceptional service. I don't hesitate one bit to recommend them to others. Our daughter had trouble with the financing on the rebuilt engine for her car which delayed the whole process. As a result she was without a vehicle for a couple of months but it wasn't the fault of Accurate Engines. They did everything they could to help us. The bad economy and hard times put our whole family in a bind making it hard to cover the expense. Given the great service our family has received from Accurate Engines over the years, I have a hard time imagining how some of the negative reviews could be legitimate complaints against Accurate Engines. It would seem that there's more to the story than what's being told - like our own experience of being without the vehicle for several months due to our own inability to get financing to cover the expenses. Overall we've been very satisfied with Accurate Engines over the years and highly recomend them. more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! 8/24/2010

I would strongly advise anyone to stay away from this group of constant liars! Purchased what turned out to be a second rate engine from this second rate bunch of wrench turners. The quality of the engine was terrible at best. These guys couldn't even do oil changes at the local Wal Mart without screwing them up. Lanny makes promise after promise and tells lie after lie with no backing it up. Their customer service is terrible and their willingness to back up their work is non existant. Lanny would rip off his own mother if he thought he could make a buck. Check other reviews about this company on other web sites and also the BBB of Michigan. If you have already made a purchase from this company I would suggest you keep your fingers crossed that the engine holds on long enough to get you to a car dealer to trade it in before it blows up. Lanny my friend, you will burn in HELL if you don't change your ways!!!!!! more

Stay away from these liars 6/10/2010

Installed one of there engines. First time recieved the wrong engine, put it in the 2nd time and saw they didn't install new cams like they were supposed to. Said they would remburse me for the first install of the wrong engine. Was flat out lied to from the owner Lanny about sending a check out. 2 weeks later and still getting a bunch of bullshit. NEVER again will this shop install an Accurate engine. Pros: None Cons: Everything more

Thank God For LANNY!!!! 8/19/2009

My 1998 Saturn motor blew up and it was my only vehicle. I have a family of 4 and my wife and I are both out of jobs. This was our only means of transportation. I met Lanny at his church and some one had mentioned to him what had happened to my wife and I. He came and picked up my car from my house, dropped off a car for my wife and I. Our car was fixed 3 days later just in time for a job interview. There was no charge Lanny told me... Lanny is a gift from GOD!!! I just want the world to know!!! Pros: Lanny Cons: non... more

ACCURATE ENGINES ARE HORRIBLE! UPDATE! 7/25/2009

Beware of Accurate Engines and Lanny (otherwise known in our family as: The LIAR!) First of all, customer service: Non-existent! No waiting room! NO returned phone calls! And weird, creepy mechanics! Second: Same scam artists as Accurate Automotive, which went out of business because the "sales men" were not sales people...they were posing and they stole money from the customers. For example, we bought a Extended Warranty and never received it. It's been 7 months. We have nothing. We called the warranty company, and we do not exist. So, basically, they kept the money and never registered us. The "car" we bought has been nothing but trouble. The lug nuts were all loose. So, my daughter's wheels almost fell off only 4 days after she bought it. The Turbo is bad. And, Lanny said he would fix it. And it's not fixed. Again, said he would fix it. NOPE. "Just make an appointment", he said. So, we did. We showed up, and no one was there. Yeah. Isn't that professional?! Made another appointment. They didn't have the part they were supposed to have. What a JOKE! This company deserves NO business! TRUST ME! Pros: Absolutely nothing! Cons: Let the list begin! more

Dodge 4.7 Engine from Accurate 4/29/2009

I looked long and hard for a engine shop to purchase a re-manufactured Dodge 4.7 V-8. I finally stumbled across Accurate Engines and gave them a call. Lanny picked up the phone and I immediately knew that this was a company worthy of my business. One thing that really caught my attention was the fact that Lanny said for me to call if I have any questions at all about the removal, installation, initial start up, and break in of the new engine. He said they would be more than happy to let me talk to their techs, in fact, he said please call if you have any questions, we want to make sure everything goes right. I was impressed with that and planned on seeing if he was true to his word. Accurate shipped me a complete Dodge 4.7 V-8 to my house on Virginia's Eastern Shore. And true to their word they took at least 10 phone calls from me as I asked them various questions about component reassembly and such. I finally got everything reassembled and ready for the initial start up. I turned the key, and the motor started in less than a second. I was amazed. That never happens ... I have been driving the motor now for about a month and I can say unequivocally that doing business with these folks was a great decision. This motor works like a dream and I think the folks at Accurate for standing by their product. Pros: World Class Customer Service Cons: None more

good job fair price 12/30/2008

I had my pontiac engine rebuilt at accurate and I'm completely satisfied. When the engine failed I was near Detroit and Accurate came to get it [and me] with their tow truck at NO charge, that saved me hundreds of dollars. Since I got my car back there have been some small non related problems which they have taken care of promptly, I appreciate it. Thanks Accurate!! Pros: good quick service Cons: their rentals were all being used more

Accurate: My 2.7 Dodge 12/29/2008

I had my engine done 6 mos. ago at Accurate, I looked all around trying to find the best price for my 2.7 Dodge Intrepid. I decided to call Accurate, the person I spoke with whos name was Paul, gave me a qoute that was a little cheaper than the rest and Paul was very informative and even asked if I would like to come in and take a tour of the shop, I did and found it to be a extreamly busy place, I went ahead and scheduled my car to be done.... I was told the job would take 5 bussiness days to complete and they were true to their word. I received my car and drove it for about 3 weeks and then I started having problems with it running bad when it was cold, so I took it to my regular mechanic and he qouted me 147.00 for a thing called a coolant temp sensor, he also said he did not think it was related to the engine itself. I decided to call Accurate to see what they could do about it, I spoke with Paul and he said he would check to see what he could do for me and to call him back in an hour. When I called back Paul said because I had my car done with them they would do the job for 100.00. I then scheduled my car in, I was to take my car there and wait for it to be done... Paul said they were slammed at that time and I would have to pick my car up at the end of the day. When I returned my car was done and Paul was very apologetic for the delay, then when I went to pay for it he then said for the inconveince he only charged whole sale cost for the part and no labor.... WOW... I walked out the door for 60.00. The car since has ran great no problems and even gets better gas mileage then before. In all I would have to say my experiance was a good one and would refer them to a friend. more

Still waiting.... 10/12/2008

It has been 2 months of phone calls made EVERYDAY to check on our car and guess what?!?!?! We just called once again and he said, "Call me back in 20 minutes." Lanney is the most deceitful person and the worst business person I have ever had to deal with!!!! PLEASE DO NOT USE ACCURATE ENGINES!!! Lanney will do nothing but waste your time and make you wish you had never even heard about Accurate Engines. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW NOT TO USE ACCURATE ENGINES!! Pros: They're experts at lying Cons: anything and everything more

Worst customer service and mechanics with no to little knowledge 3/10/2008

After having Accurate Engines put three engines in my car (due to their error) the trouble still was not over! My car leaked oil and ruined all of my hoses. After countless phone calls and no response I decided to take my car to my car dealership. To my surprise, they reported numerous problems that were caused from the mechanics at Accuate Engines. When I called to speak to the owner Lanny, all he did was ignore or rush me off the phone, he was extremely rude. I have brought me car back to them to fix and still the problem never went away. I now belive that when I brought my car it just sat there as if they were really working on it. They screwed so many things up on my car that my dealership said that they are not even able to change the oil and fix the the problem. i was without a car for a total of 2 months and had to rent a car during that time. Still Lanny (the owner) offers extremely poor customer service. Please save your money or have your dealership fix it. I do belive that the mechanics do not know what they are doing and you will recieve the worst customer service around. Do not trust them! Pros: none Cons: Poor customer service and mechanics with little knowledge more

Accurate Engines is the worst auto repair shop in Michigan 7/2/2007

Accurate Engines rebuilt my V6 Pontiac motor which had major engine failure after only 17,000 miles. The engine was under a 100,000 mile warranty so I took the car back to Accurate Engines for them to do the repairs. My car has now been in their shop for one month and 2 days and I still have not got it back! There was no parts issues that has caused for this delay, it has only been management issues, as I was told that the mechanic that took my engine apart went on vacation. So, does this mean that all of the other mechanics that work there are not knowledgeable enough to put a V6 engine back together? Perhaps so! But, being an experienced "back yard mechanic? that has done a lot of work on this motor, I can tell you that it does not take any "special" knowledge to work on this motor, it is a standard V6 engine. So, I do not understand how come there were no other mechanics at Accurate that could finish the work. Now, I am being told I will have to wait another week for the repairs on my car to be completed because Accurate Engines has lost a part to my motor and must order a new one. Accurate Engines not only is poorly managed but, it seems that the mechanics that work that are not very knowledgeable and experienced. My advice is DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO ACCURATE ENGINES FOR REPAIRS!!!!!!! Pros: NONE Cons: Extremely poor management and mechanics knowledge more
