I rented a motorhome on June 17, 2014. After I paid, I asked if I could add an extra night and was told that it wasn't booked so it would be fine. I drove about five miles down the road to a store. Upon leaving the store the Check Engine light and the Oil light both came on so I returned to the store. No one was there, I called every number they gave me and no one answered the phone. My daughter and I had to spend the night in their parking lot. I had to cancel my plans for the next day, a fishing trip that I had already paid $500 for, and lost my payment for my fishing trip. The next day I was told that the lights come on and everything was fine. I asked for two things, first, a refund of the night my eleven year old daughter and I had to stay in the parking lot and secondly, I asked to cancel the extra day I had added. I was told that it was no problem because, according to their 'board' I was due to return the vehicle on Saturday and not Sunday so the extra night had not been added. Also, I was told that the night we spent in the parking lot would be refunded because I could not drive the vehicle with the engine and oil lights on before having it checked out. The $500 I was out for fishing was obviously not refundable. The company is refusing to refund these nights to me, they only will refund my deposit and nothing more. Prior to the trip, I had to leave a $500 deposit with them via my credit card and they will only refund that amount. I asked repeatedly and was told each time that I need not worry because two nights would be refunded to me. more

This place is a nightmare, the motor homes are disgusting and the worst piece is clearly the owner/mgmt. I rented from here to attend a wedding in AK. My flight got in at midnight and they charged me a full $223 / 24 hrs. for only 9 actual hours of use. That piece I agreed to, as my time was limited. However upon arriving on site at 1AM I find the motor home is half-full of gray, water & half full of black water, tank is 1/3 empty in gas, propane half empty. If I was to leave I'd have to spend the next 9 hours finding someplace to get it serviced and have to pay for the service on top of it. Plus, it was the middle of the night.\r \r Once staff arrived at 8AM they immediately serviced the vehicle and were very polite and apologetic and said they would put a note in my file because there is no mgmt. available. \r \r Upon returning the RV they again could not confirm my money for the 9 hrs would be returned, only that they thought it would be. They told me to wait 14 days to see what my deposit return was. Of course when the return actually hit my credit card, 22 days later, there was no return for that day. When I called to talk to a manager (Krill) it took him 4 days to return my call and he was irritable & had no idea what I was talking about and said he would call me back. About a week later a lady named Lee called me back. Obviously who Krill passed me off to, and she was equally as helpful. She did say she would contact the owner and call me back but she was guessing the owner would say ""why didn't you just leave and tell us about it?"" And for the 5th time I explained ""$223 for 9 hours was not so I could go service your vehicle for you."" I never returned a phone call back her or the owner and am now disputing the charges. \r Also, their provided linens smell like a moldy lemon. more

Last June my husband and I spent our holidays in Alaska. We wanted to rent a 25-feet long motorhome from/to Anchorage, for 17 nights. Searching for a rental company on the web, I found Clippership Motorhome Rentals, and decided to try them even if I did not know them, and there were just a few feedbacks online from previous clients. Now I'm glad to say I'm really happy for my choice. It was the nineth time we rented a motorhome in USA, almost everywhere in the States, and I never had such a good experience. I'm Italian, so all our contacts were by email; they answered immediately to all my questions (I had quite a lot of doubts, coming from so far...), and were always extremely kind and friendly (Kyrill in particular). I appreciated this really a lot. Moreover, they were very professional both during the pick up and the drop off. And, least but not last, the motorhome was simply perfect, beautiful and very new. And the price was good too! So, they made my Alaskan experience great; so much that I'm already planning to come back next year too, of course travelling with them again. For all these reasons, I do recommend Clippership Motorhome Rental. Personally, I'll be back! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 6/2/2013

Alaska was amazing but Clippership is horrible. We had arranged for a pickup at 6 am in the morning at Seaward as we were arriving by HA cruise but the vehicle did not reach there by 5 pm ! Their employee Lee with whom we had arranged for a pick up committed that the vehicle would be there at 6 and even gave us her personal contact no. just in case there was some problem but apparently this was just in her brain and she had not informed anybody about the required drop off. I had paid $444 for the dropoff but this is the kind of service they offer and on top of it she lied to us telling us that there was an unexpected mechanical failure with the vehicle but in reality nobody knew about the drop off and we were told this by the technician who came to drop of the vehicle. Secondly she sent us the incomplete documents for the rental and she conveniently forgot to send us document that specified the time of drop off. Thirdly when reported to manager she very shamelessly denied the fact that I had ever made such a request and that she had ever committed it to us. Even the owner is incredible mean and arrogant, the Lady looks down upon customers and talks rashly to them the son atleast listens to the customer. The worst thing was the RV the gave us had a compartment door completely damaged but while checking out the vehicle at Seaward we had missid it because it was so late and we (6 people) were so frustrated and mad; and later during the time of drop off Clippership slapped the blame on me, when I had 100% not been the cause for it because it was not a small scratch or something that I could have stayed unaware of it, it was a pretty significant thing. Clippership kept the entire $500 deposit for repair of it, can you believe it. Long story short, don't rent with them they SUCK ! more

My husband and I just returned from a 5/27/2012

My husband and I just returned from a week long vacation in Alaska. I could not be any more pleased with our rental experience. The staff was warm, friendly, and accommodating. They promptly picked us up at the airport upon our arrival. Once at the business the staff helped us get all of our paperwork taken care of, inspect the vehicle, and give us a step by step guide to our home away from home. No problems the entire trip, no waiting (not quite sure what other people were talking about), and I will recommend this business to everyone I know. more

Clippership Rental 6/6/2011

We rented a motorhome from Clippership, May 14th. We arrived early and they kindly put our luggage in the office while we went to breakfast. The staff was very helpful and had us on our way right on time. We drove 2,330 miles in the two weeks had no problems. They gave us a larger unit than we booked (at no extra charge). The staff was courteous, friendly and very helpful with suggestions for grocery purchases, gas, etc. When we return to Alaska, rest assured we WILL rent from Clippership. Great RV rental 6/2/2011

We rented an RV from Clippership for 10 days. The RV was all ready for us when we arrived (late flight but RV was all hooked up). No problems with the RV the entire time except for a glitch with the DVD player which was no biggie! Staff was very friendly. Will definetly recommend this company to anyone renting an RV in Anchorage. more

Looking for Reputible RV Rental 5/20/2011

There are three reviews for Clippership RV Rental in Anchorage. The first is so glowingly positive that it is obivously written by the business owners to off-set the other two very negative customer responses to their experiences with the business and its owners. This certainly is making us look elsewhere for another RV provider. Some business just do not get the fact that the customer is always important to their sucess. Especially in these tought econimic times. more

Friendly staff, Good Product and Great Prices. 4/22/2011

I live in Alaska and have been renting motorhomes from Clippership for the last 5 years. It has been a very pleasant experience every time. The people are always friendly, the product is good, and the prices are extremely reasonable. I always recommend Clippership to my friends and plan on renting from Clippership Motorhomes next time I am in need of a motorhome. \r \r BG\r more

Rude Staff, Bad customer service 7/10/2010

One of the most terrible travel experiences of my life!!! We had to wait six hours for our RV to be ready (apparently a mechanical problem) and all they could tell us was that their clause clearly states that they do not guarantee the time of the rental. The owner is one of the rudest people I have ever met and could not care less about her business or her customers. All she could tell us was how ""we"" were torturing her and ""we"" were giving her a hard time when we complained after waiting endlessly. Luckily the people that work for her still have some integrity and ended-up helping us out. Someone needs to teach the owner that running a business involves learning the words efficiency and care for the customer. She seems to think that she is doing charity and is therefore entitled to treat people as she pleases. By the way, we paid hundreds of dollars for this crap like treatment! Even a two year old can run a business better than her. No wonder they have an 'F' rating with Better Business Bureau Pros: Cheap Cons: Horrible Service, Rude Owner more
