The Green Groomer was amazing and my dog looks and smells so good! I would definitely recommend them to everyone and I will make sure to always take Lucy here every month! more

great staff 4/11/2012

I highly recommend The Green Groomer for your pooch! It is so obvious that the owners and staff care deeply for the animals in their care. I am very, very cautious of who I leave my 18 1/2 year old little girl with as she has some health concerns and I do not ever hesitate to leave her with them every 8 weeks because they always prove to me how caring they are!! The dogs in their care always look more like they are at camp then at the groomers! This is a good thing! I have never been disappointed with the service The Green Groomer has provided and will continue to recommend them to my family and friends! more

Good job 3/30/2012

The green groomer is the best place to leave your pets when you go out of town. They take excellent care of the animals and really give them a lot of love and attention! more

Perfect! 3/28/2012

WOW, this place is perfect! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful! I have a 14 year old blind cocker spaniel that at times can be very stubborn but the staff here really knows how to keep her happy. They talk to her and soothe her throughout the entire process. We also take our Pit Bull to get bathed, he can be a handful, but they do a Great Job! Their products are amazing but they NEVER push you to purchase additional service - which is great! more

I love it!! 3/19/2012

I love this place. I have been bringing my ChiWeenie, Raphie, to get his full grooming for a while now. Although he is a little bit nervous when we drop him off, he is always so happy when he is ready to go home! more

Excellent! 3/7/2012

This is the only place that I trust with Lucy whenever I go out of town. They always taken excellent care of her and when I pick her up she is always happy and healthy. I highly recommend them to everyone! more

New Green Groomer is terrific 12/21/2011

I have recently started taking my dog to the Green Groomer for day care and have been delighted with the service. For the moment I walk in to drop her off in the morning, she is wagging her tail and is very enthusiastic to begin her playday. The new owner, Shianne, is very professional and caring. Another member of her staff, Linda, is always surrounded by the pups who know Linda is their go-to gal in the exercise yard for fun and friendly backrubs. Yes, I am aware of the former business' reputation, (which was previously located at that address), but this is a new small business being run by some hard working and dedicated people. I will gladly continue to use their service and have recommended it to my fellow dog-owner friends. more

Paw Spa = The Green Groomer 9/19/2011

A new name and title doesn't change a thing about what they've done/can still do to your animals. The Green Groomer is brought to you by the same despicable cast of characters previously doing business as A Paw Spa. Due diligence. Avoid. more

Soaking wet dog... 8/16/2011

Our german shepherd is a big easy going guy. We took care of him ourselves for years but lately my wife and I have had some health problems so we aren't able to give him a bath. We took him here since they were just a few blocks down the street. The girl brought him to the counter dripping wet and completely soaked. He wasn't at all happy and neither were we. We asked to talk with the manager but the girl told us she wasn't there and didn't know when she'd be back in, so we told her to give us our $$ back. A complete waste of time. more

DEADLY 8/9/2011

What moron would lock two dogs in a cage, turn a blazing hot hair-dryer on them, leave the room and assume they had 'settled down' when the barking finally stopped leaving one dead and one unconscious? more

A Disgrace To Animals 8/3/2011

This place is a disgrace to animals. I worked here until the owner fired me for trying to stop abuse and negligence. She would not accept one single suggestion trying to make this a better place for animals. The groomer cooked one dog to death in the dryer, left another one there until unconscious. The live-in night kids lost a customer's dog after removing identifying collar and tags, making safe return nearly impossible. The girl was caught beating a dog with a wooden chair outside in plain view. A cat was torn to pieces by two out of control terriers due to staff negligence. Staff would bring cats there, then abandon them to the street when the girls quit or were fired. There were endless complaints but the owner refused to address problems or help her workers in any way. The last year she hardly ever came in anymore, just left us to clean up the messes and deal with upset customers. She was a regular annoyance to the Morro Bay Police, County Animal Services, even the Health Department. The owner's made so many enemies she ought to move where no one knows her; this town is too small to hide in. Closing 'due to economic reasons'...yeah, right. She's been publicly exposed. more

They LOST Little Dog! 8/3/2011

On July 25th 2011, my husband and I, took our family pet (our little chiwinnie) to the ""A Paw Spa"" in Morro Bay California.. She was to stay until Saturday the 30th of July 2011, while my husband and I, took a much needed trip up Pacific Coast Highway. Well this is where it all began. After arriving in Monterey and checked into our hotel room, I received a voice-mail to call ""A Paw Spa"". Upon doing so I was told that they had LOST our little dog (by the way her name is also Little Dog). Beside ourselves, we decided that they best thing to do, would be pack up our stuff and head back home, as our minds would have only been on our little dog and the trip would no longer be enjoyable. Oh did I mention that was the 1st day of our trip.. Making it back to Morro Bay, we went straight to the ""A Paw Spa"" to find out what had happened and hoping that maybe they had made a mistake.. Much to our grief they were right.. They had indeed lost our dog.. As we were packing up her belongings the kennel attendant came out and handed us our dogs collar with her ID tags.. As if our hearts weren't broken enough, we now how to deal with the fact that they had removed her only means of ID and contact..Well is has now been 3 days and the kennel ""A Paw Spa"" hasn't even contacted us to see if we have found our little dog.. I feel that people should be aware of the way they handle things and hope you can help. more

Bad!! 3/23/2011

My wife and I recently boarded our two cats at this place for several days. We don't know what happened to them in there; they acted spookish and traumatized for several days after we brought them home. One of them was bitten by a spider in there and by the time we picked him up it was infected. Staff didn't say a word; they probably didn't even notice. Our vet who treated the spider bite shook his head when we mentioned where we'd boarded and suggested a few different places with a good reputation for next time. Had we known, we would have gone somewhere else. When I went to pick up the cats, the fluffy orange office cat was on the counter wanting attention so I petted it. I was disgusted to see it had gunk in its eyes and the poor thing's underside was completely matted solid with a rat's nest of fur so bad it will have to be shaved off. Don't they have a groomer in this facility? Disgraceful way to treat an otherwise-beautiful cat and very poor way to promote their business. Also, I agree that it smells filthy and was piercingly loud even just waiting in the office (it took the person *forever* to find the carriers and bring our cats to the front). They don't take care of their own animals and it's painfully obvious they didn't take care of ours. more

Very Postive Experience 11/12/2010

We have had excellent experience with grooming for our two dogs and one cat and with boarding as well. The staff is super friendly--I think it is family-owned. They are very flexible about drop off and pick up times and our pets get excited( in a good way!) when we pull into their parking lot. I recommend you give them a try more

Great facility and service! 9/16/2010

I have lived locally for almost eight years and my family and I always know that our dogs will be in a good, safe place when we go out of town. I really love that I am always notified by the staff if there is anything wrong or anything about my dogs that should be brought to my attention instead of sweeping it under the carpet like most kennels would. I have also taken a tour of the building before boarding my dogs and seen how neatly everything is kept and that the dogs are well taken care of in an organized mannor. It's really a huge plus that they get to play with other dogs AND they recieve constant attention from the animal loving staff! more

Favorite Doggie Spa 9/9/2010

I have lived on the Central Coast for many years, and always board my dogs at A Paw Spa when I travel. Sometimes if I'm working all day I drop them off for day care. The owner and kennel staff are always cheerful and attentive, and listen to any specific instructions I have regarding the care of my pups. One of my dogs has diabetes and I am always confident that his medication will be administered correctly. Every employee I have communicated with is knowledgeable regarding animal care. And FYI, to the posters of Dilapidated and Creepy, Jim and Sarah, when I dropped my dogs off this morning, I was greeted promptly by the kennel attendants, who immediately took my dogs out in a group to play in the yard. As creative as your review and descriptions were, I suggest that you write with accuracy and think carefully before destroying the reputation of a wonderful business. I am proud to bring my business to A Paw Spa. Without them I would not be able to go to work or travel feeling confident that my dogs were being cared for. more
