Biggest Rip Off in SAN ANTONIO !!!! -$ 8/17/2011

I called them for a quote to compair to the dealership. They quoted me over $600 less..and they would have it towed from the dealership to their shop accross town. Little did I know that they would say anthing to get my vechicle there. They kept calling telling me I needed one thing or another...they ""estimated"" a part would cost about 30 bucks and it ended up costing $170...they blamed the economy. I ended up paying almost $2000 for my repairs...but dont worry...they will offer you financing (at a crazy rate) if you qualify. These folks are great scam artists...dont let the pretty building fool you. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF WOLVES...BEWARE!\r (especially the guy--martin) more

911 TOOK MY CAR ! 5/12/2011

911 AUTO REPAIRED MY CAR WITHOUT MY CONSENT, CHARGED ME 3200.00 DOLLARS. I COULD NOT PAY THIS, THE COMPANY THEY GAVE ME TO CONTACT FOR LOAN, HAD NO FUNDS THEN WENT OUT OF BUSINESS. I LEFT MY CAR THERE, KNOWING THEY COULDN;T FILE A MECHANICS LIEN. I TRIED TO GET THE MONEY TO PAY. I DIDN;T KNOW MY RIGHTS, I CALLED IN JAN 11 AND WAS TOLD THE CAR HAD BEEN TOWED BY THE CITY. LIES, A SEARCH OF THE VIN NO. SHOWED IT WAS TOWED TO ROOSEVELT PICK AND PULL, WHICH I BELIEVE IS OWED BY MARTIN G. I CALLED ROOSEVELT AND MARTIN G 911 CALLED ME BACK. I DID FIND OUT THAT I HAVE 4 YRS FROM TIME OF REPAIR. SO I HAVE FILED A LAWSUIT IN MY CLAIMS COURT FOR THE VALUE OF MY CAR. IAM CURRENTLY WAITING FOR COURT DATE, WHEN RECEIVED I WILL POST IT HERE. SORRY I DIDNT KNOW TO CHECK REPAIR SHOP S REVIEWS BEFOR THEY TOWED MY CAR. GOOD LUCK IN YOUR FIGHT WITH THEM. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ON THEM. more

I WON SUITE AGAINST 911 5/12/2011

I SUED MARTIN GUTERIZE AND 911 AUTO REPAIR CENTER LLL. MARTIN JUNKED MY 97 CAMERO IN SMALL CLAIMS COURT HE REPORTED HE HAD NEVER REPAIRED IT, YET WHEN I WENT TO HIS BUSINESS 2 MO AFTER THE REPAIR HE SAID I OWED HIM 3200.00 FOR REPAIR AND WOULD NOT LET ME SEE MY CAR, IF NOT REPAIRED HE COULD HAVE GIVEN IT TO ME THEN, HE DID NOT. THE JUDGE AT SMALL CLAIMS COURT AWARDED ME 5,000 FOR THE BLUE BOOK COST OF MY CAR, AND 500 LAWYER FEES. OF COURSE MARTIN HAS NOT PAID, HE IS A VERY UNDESIRABLE PERSON, AND AN DISHONEST BUSINESS PERSON. HE LIES ABOUT HIS REPAIRS, AND HAS UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES. BUT IN THE END HE WILL NOT WIN. WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND, MARTIN. AND GOD WATCHES EVERY THING YOU DO.. more

Won't Go Back EVER 6/13/2010

So, obviously the reviews for this place run the gamut from great to sucky. Well, I had a sucky experience and, unfortunately, still am: I've had a Honda for 6 yrs and I've ALWAYS brought it to the dealer for service. It was time to replace the timing belt, which is expensive, so I thought I'd save myself a little $ by checking out other places. Not only did this place end up being more expensive than both what they AND Honda quoted me over the phone, but the invoice was bogus. Even when I asked for an itemization (which they did not initially provide), you could tell it was total BS - not professional at all. And Martin was extremely rude and unprofessional to me. Even worse, afterward, my timing belt made that horrible, high-pitched screeching noise (you know the one - so embarrassing!). So I had to take it back twice to get that dealt with. Even now, it doesn't screech, but it just sounds bad. Before I brought my car to 911, it didn't sound like it does now. So, maybe I actually WILL have to go back again! But NEVER for anything else. I wish I had stuck with the dealer. I've learned my lesson. I won't ever go someplace unless it comes recommended from someone I know. If you read ""BEWARE""'s review below, he pretty much sums my experience up perfectly. And they also let me wait there for 9 hours w/out offering to give me a ride home while I wait for my car. Thanks guys! PS - 3/9/11 - Today, apparently, I busted a head gasket, and had to be towed to a shop. You can guess where I DIDN'T go. While I was being towed by AAA, I brought up 911 (remembering my horrible experience last year), and the AAA tow driver knew all about 911 because he's talked to/towed so many people who have had similar bad experiences w/them. We both agreed that we can't imagine how they are even still in business. Pros: Brenda is nice Cons: Invoice was totally bogus more

Stayed true to promises (time and money) 1/4/2010

Just had a timing belt replaced at this shop. They were considerably cheaper than the crooks at Pep Boys up the road, and more pleasant to deal with. Martin was up front about the costs and got the work done in the time he said they would. He even double checked the work from Pep Boys and cleaned the throttle body for free. I was hesitant after reading several negative reviews, but the shop was great. I will be returning for future repairs if needed. Pros: Reliable work, good communication Cons: busy busy more

BEWARE 11/20/2009

This place was a nightmare. Everyone I dealt with was unprofessorial, rude, and incompetent. Martin lies and makes excuses. They charged way over the estimate and kept the car for an extended length of time. Would never take a car there and would recommend you avoid this place. The worst experience in car repair I ever had.\r Cons: Yes they are cons more

Used them three times and will go back again - Great Work 7/31/2009

I can’t say enough good things about the quality and customer service at 911 auto center. I’ve used them three times and they’ve always done a great job in setting the right expectation up front and communicating with me at every step. Their work is second to none – they’re experts and provide great value…best of all, they make sure the customer is happy with the result – something that is hard to find these days. more

used wrong parts on my AC compressor 7/14/2009

I took my 2000 Bonneville to 911 Auto Center because my car was making an awful noise and my husband determined that it was the AC. First quote was 295, we accepted and then a call was made to tell us that the compressor needed replaced, so ok we'll pay 995, then a second call was placed to us saying that to do the job right we should do some cleaning etc so the final price with tax ended up a little over 1400. A month and a half later, I no longer had AC, so I took the car back to them, there's a problem can u please fix? Gladly they say, it's under warranty. Then a call was placed, sorry ma'am this has nothing to do with the work we did, it's the accuators in the dash it'll be another 500-1000 to fix this. I asked why wasn't this fixed in the first place and was told that things break all the time and that we were welcome to get a second opinion. I got that second opinion from Aloha Motors (right down the street) and low and behold, wrong parts were used on the compressor and therefore we leaked out freeon! There was no way I was letting this scam store touch my car again and I will be getting my money back! I didn't even want to give this place 1 star. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!!! Cons: they do not do a good job more

Beware Beware Beware 6/19/2009

Chaos. Lies. Deception. Unprofessional.\r \r NEVER EVER GO TO THIS PLACE FOR AUTOMOTIVE NEEDS.\r \r Somewhere in the world is the worlds auto repair\r center.\r \r I think this is the one\r \r Pros: they answer phone Cons: they answer phone to mislead you more

Great Auto Work & Professional Care 6/13/2009

Martin and his crew are very professional and know how to satisfy customers. It's about time a company takes it back to the basics! Customer service is what they are about! They take care of all of your needs and what I like is that no job is too big nor too small! You are given fair prices for the hard work that these guys do. Lots of experience and reliable service. I will recommend this shop to everyone who likes great customer service! This is the place to go to. Pros: Best Repairmen in our city! Cons: No more

the good life 5/18/2009

Dont ever think you are going to come to this place and get a anything fixed for less than a 600 dollars. They are rude and they love taking advantage of people. And for you people that say that you want to report them to the trouble shooters . . . good luck with that , I called about these suckers and they still havent done anything to them. I had to return my car back to them for the same reason over 5 times and the leak was still in the same spot lolz. However, the good thing is that ever since i dealt with these professional theives, I learn how to work on cars myself , these guys broke me to the bone, I will never ever get ripped off again!!! Martin told me that he was going to hook up my car to a decoder that tells him everything that is wrong with the car , he stated that would cost 214.00 dollars, meanwhile autozone will do it for free. All iam saying is that if you still want to go to these guys please ask for the parts that they replace be given back to you. I remeber when i asked for my parts that had to be replaced Martin said "" no that they had to be salvage""? To be honest with you the best mechanics are the ones that dont have a shop that looks like a high price club and very expensive cars that they own , if iam not mistaking one of the mechanic has or had a ferrari. That is why it cost you 2k to get your brakes done. Thank you for teaching me to fix my own car though, that i owe them, But iam still very surprised that they are still around. Pros: recommend them to people you hate Cons: makes you want to become a scam artist more

rip off city 4/28/2009

took my car down to 911 on bandera after looking into the phone book for someone likea single woman would need they have a slick ad very impressive after a day or two of waiting for parts for a new ignition i ran across the reviews of this place and it made me sick to my stomach so far its costing me 600.00 and hope to god it wont be anymore than that but im scared to death when i go pick the car up tomorrow it wil be more my brother adv me to pay and get the heck out of there and thats just what im planning to do Pros: nice waiting room Cons: too much money so far more

Could have caused a fire 2/23/2009

I took my car to them about 2 months ago and spent 1300 dollars to fix it cause it wouldn't start it had been smoking and jerking to the right I thought everything was fixed and shortly after it started jerking again and it got WAY worse to the point I couldn't drive it I took it somewhere else and they told me the Valve cover gasket needed replaced and it had melted all the grommets, cables and ties and that it had been going on for at least 5 months! It could have destroyed my engine and could have caused a fire so after 1700 dollars more in repairs the car works great, what I want to know it what kind of mechanic misses something like the whole bottom of my car covered in oil and the fact that there were no ties or cables? Take your car somewhere else, try tiller in helotes it is so much better. Pros: They have comfy seats in the waiting room Cons: They are complete idiots and way over priced more

Absolutely ridiculous! Find somewhere else to go! 8/18/2008

I took my car in because my rear tail light was out. That was my only problem. I know I could have tried doing it myself, but it's a new car and we weren't sure how to open the parts, etc. I had gone to another place before (with another car) that only charged $20. I figured it couldn't be too bad if I went somewhere else. 911 Auto Center was the only place that took my car in on a Sunday and due to our work schedules, it was the most convenient place to go to. I dropped off my car and three hours later, I'm calling THEM to find out if it is just the bulbs that were out. They gave me the runaround saying they wanted to keep checking the car to make sure it was just the bulb that had to be replaced or to see if there was an electrical problem. They gave me two choices: I could either pick up my car right then and there and fork over $70 for an incomplete diagnostic or wait until the next day when they would tell me what the actual problem was. Fine, what's one more day. Next day, I come to find out that I was right...it was just a bulb that needed replacing. Apparently, replacing a bulb costs $98!!!! Plus, these people were unbelievably rude. When I'd talk to them, they'd act like I was inconveniencing them! I would definitely NOT recommend this place. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE AND WAY TOO RUDE! Cons: Cost and customer service! more

crooks, liars and cheats 8/5/2008

I originally took my Bonneville to 911 Auto because the a/c was blowing only slightly cool air. As I am fully disabled with severe rheumatoid arthritis and on a fixed income from social security disability, I hoped that 911 auto center would be trustworthy and honest. After a day of work, Martin told me to get to his shop at 5:45pm and the car would be ready. When I went to pick it up I had to wait on their premises almost 2 hours before they would release the car to me. The a/c was still not fixed and it was blowing extremely hot air even when the a/c was turned off! To top it off they charged me $759.83 before I could get my damaged car back! Martin convinced me to take the car back the next day (the last day of my vacation) and they would fix it. I had to rent a car to drive home and then wait a week until Martin told me my car was ready. He told me it was ready on Saturday. When I went to get it on Monday the car was still not ready nor had it been test driven. I heard Martin telling an employee repeatedly to test drive my car after I arrived at 911 Auto. After paying $842.76 MORE this is what I found: \r 1. The a/c was STILL blowing hot air and had not been fixed at all. I don?t believe that they replaced the part that I paid for. \r 2. More than 70 miles had been added to the odometer. \r 3. A half a tank of gas was missing from the gas tank. \r 4. They meticulously cleaned the back seat of stuff that I had left there ? tissues, baby wipes - as though someone used my car for their personal use with enough passengers that they had to use the back seat. \r 5. The jack and spare tire had both been used and the trunk left in disarray. They lied about a flat tire and have now only told part of the truth claiming that they ?noticed? a tire was low and took it to be repaired at Goodyear as a courtesy to me. I did not ok this and also noticed evidence that a can of ""fix-a-flat"" was used which they deny knowledge of. \r \r more

crooks 8/1/2008

911 auto center took my $1,950 dollars & my car is still not fixed. Ernesto...i'd like to speak with you regarding a suit against this company. I'm also contemplating picketing this company. Trouble shooters @ WOAI has been contacted. I want my justice!!! Pros: nice lobby Cons: crooks more

fraud, rip off 1/27/2008

they didn't fix my car and took my money & my car. And I believe they remove some originals computer parts & replace for used ones; I'm looking forward for law suit. Cons: they will take your money & don't fix your car. more

Nightmare Experience: Beware!! 9/3/2007

I've had to take my car back to 911 Auto Center 5 times for the same problem. 6 months later, my car is still not fixed and they have taken my money. Last week I took my car to another body shop and found out that the computer on my car had been replaced with a completely different computer and a lot of parts had been replaced with used and much cheaper parts. They took out the computer system that DID NOT need to be replaced and placed a used computer that DOES NOT match the system in my car. I will NEVER go back to 911 Auto Center and I warn anyone who is thinking of using this place. I would like to find more people with similar stories as I am seeking a class action against them. Cons: They do not fix the problem and will take your money. more

BAD EXPERIENCE 8/31/2007

UNPROFESSIONAL,UNTRUSTWORTHY, AND MY CAR STILL WAS'NT FIXED RIGHT. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN.EXPENSIVE LESSON LEARNED. Pros: N/A Cons: BAD SERVICE more

Horrorible treatment 8/13/2007

Last week, I phoned the office manager, Brenda to ask a question about company policy instead of answering a very simple question she became rude and said she didn't time to dilly dally with me. I said to myself, how interesting you have time to collect 1300 dollars. By this time the repairs it was too late for me to take the car to another shop. The lesson is never select a company out of the telephone book! \r 911 Auto will never get a dime from me again! more
