Best

Best food I've had in the Twin Cities. I've never been disapointed with the food. We had dinner for two: appetizer, two entrees, dessert and a bottle of wine for $90. It's a bit m...

Made the mistake of eating at Saffron two days earlier so the misses here were magnified.

The best 10/21/2005

This is one of the best restaurants in the Twin Cities. Wonderful food, imaginative menu, nice price. It was a bit warm in the place the night we went, but that's a kink that can be easily worked out. Simply fantastic! Pros: Food, Price, Menu Variety Cons: Climate control more

Fantastic 9/23/2005

We were lucky enough to walk right in and get the best table in the house - past the kitchen there is a very private, cozy table all by itself. The menu was great because you could build your own meal by choosing the side dish and there was a great variety of options at low and high prices. The cheeseburger, fries, blue prawns and romaine salad were all incredible! Loved everything about the place, however there wasn't a single vegetarian entree on the entire menu, which is too bad, especially considering the City Pages lists this place as a good vegetarian option! Pros: Food, Prices Cons: No vegetarian options more

World Class food at reasonable prices 8/4/2005

I ate here every night when I was in Minneapolis for business. Steak tartare, foie gras salad, desert and 2 glasses of wine for $45! Are you kidding me? It's small, but if you're alone, show up at 5 and eat at the bar. The service is midwestern kind and the food is amazing amazing amazing. As a food snob par excellence, I give this my unequivocal 2 thumbs up - go there or live to regret missing it. Pros: menu item, value, quality Cons: small, bad parking, small more

Best new spot in town 8/1/2005

Try not to tell too many people about this place - it's already getting hard enough to get a table! more

Fabulous! 7/27/2005

The food was delicious...everything from the nuts and olives on the table to the entrees were great! I still dream of the warm bread they gave us and can't wait to go back for the Scallop and Chanterelle appitizer. One of the best restaurants we've eaten at in the city. Pros: everything Cons: entrees priced a bit, high for not incldg, sides more

Great and Fun 7/24/2005

I had the Ahi Tuna, it was excellent. The fries are served in a paper cone and they are the best in town. Fun, exciting, atmosphere. Downtown Minneapolis. Pros: Food, Service, Fries Cons: Tables a bit tight more

The best hidden gem in-town! 7/20/2005

When one can master the art of cooking, it defines simplicity. Well, 112 has mastered just that. 112 spins gourmet tastes to classics like their cheeseburger smothered with melted brie cheese and hot crispy french fries. The Foie Gras salad is perfected with tossed greens in a light vinagrette and a perfect slice of warm foie gras with the real kicker, a poached egg, deeply fried in panko bread crumbs. Truly fabulous! The scallops are nice, nutty, delicate accompanied by cremini and oyster mushrooms. Perfect for a light appetite, as well as their famous seared ahi tuna in a cilantro-ey garlic masterpiece. Their Tres-Leche (three milk) cake is truly to die for and their wine list is as inventive more so than any other in town. Reservations or call aheads are a must to grab a table at this wonderful gem. Thank you 112 Eatery! Pros: Food, Service, Wine Cons: Parking, Small space more

If I were a chef I'd hang out here. . . 7/12/2005

An outstanding effort. Casual at first glance but the food is top notch. An imaginative and inspired menu (the unique oyster shooter rocks!) with a little something for everyone. Even smaller budgets can dine here and fit in (where else can you get fried eggs alongside sweetbreads?!?) A couple of recommendations: The pressed chicken was outstanding. I was expecting a rendition of the classic roast chicken and was surprised with a lemony, crispy flat and boneless bird with succulent juices all around and a nice touch of red pepper. Probably the best clucker I've ever had, hands down. The Tres Leches cake was also unbelievable. Very hard to go wrong with those choices. The downsides are typical downtown parking options (few and expensive) and very tight tables but if you enjoy food, go here. If you are expecting impeccably snooty service or a romantic venue, seek another spot. Pros: Oyster Shooters!, Pressed Chicken!, Tres Leches Cake! Cons: Tough Parking, Very Few Tables, On the Loud Side more
