I would like to use the strongest language possible here when I say PLEASE do not use/trust STI movers. They charged over 3 times the estimate for the move and had the worst customer service I have ever received from a moving company.
I have lived in 4 different locations all in the city of Chicago and although STI provided me with a very reasonable estimate over the phone, their final bill was more than double any of my previous moves and 327% higher than the estimated cost. I do understand that an estimate is just that, and estimate, but professional movers should be able to ballpark a cost better than that. Also considering their estimate was in range of my previous moves.
They do a great job during the initial sale and estimate process but please do not be fooled. Once they have your credit card information there is nothing you can do to stop them from billing you. I emailed and called for 3 weeks to resolve the issue with little to no cooperation from STI. Multiple calls/emails went unreturned and when I finally convinced them I was not going away they offered me a $100 credit but with that came a waiver to following up on the issue. After turning down the $100 the representative “Matt K.” hung up on me.
