Ziegner, Ulrike, MD Riviera Allergy Medical Ctr

Dr. Ziegner has a very clean office and her staff is considerate, proffessional and friendly. Dr. Ziegner is a ""high caliber"" doctor and she takes her time to know you and your medical history. I have been to many doctors that only take a few minutes with you in a rush just to get through their ""triple"" booked appointments. Dr. Ziegner SAVED MY LIFE -- on my first consultation with her she THOROUGHLY examined me and we THOROUGHLY discussed my medical history. Thankfully, she discovered a nodule on my Thyroid -- yes, she is an allergist -- but she noticed that something could be wrong with my thyroid and sent me for testing. Long story short -- IT WAS CANCER -- and if it wasn't for her, no one would have found it since I did not have symptoms. She really does care about her patients and she takes her time with each person. She has helped my husband to stop smoking and has been very encouraging and impactful in our lives. Doctors like ULRIKE ZIEGNER are very, very hard to find - so show some respect. She is well educated, stays informed and is a real person with a family. The disgruntled comments below are unfair, unfounded and seem suspicious to me. She undoubtedly has patients that would prefer the 10 min visit, but this is not her and I appreciate her for her knowledge, her time and caring attention. I've lived a long life; but have only lived in southern CA for about 9 years. My biggest adjustment from the midwest has been finding a doctor who REALLY cared about ME!! I am THRILLED with Dr. Ziegner. She is genuinely concerned to find the way to treat my ""problem"". \r \r Definitely she is the best doctor I have found; I have recommended her to everyone I see! Her staff is friendly, courteous, conversational; her office does not give that ""sterile"" feeling. Dr. Ziegner actually will talk to you on the phone!!!! How often these days can we say that about any doctor?!\r \r From the beginning of my going to her, I had the feeling that she would not quit til she found a solution to my ""problem"". And she is still working with me. I thank God for Dr. Ulrike Ziegner and wish there were more doctor who cared about our health! \r \r I just can't believe the notes posted here earlier (all on the same day is amazing!) that are negative toward this doctor and her staff and office. I must say I was flabbergasted when I read the negative reviews about Dr. Ziegner. I have been a patient of hers for years. I have a very complex medical history and have seen many doctors. I have never met a more intelligent and compassionate person. Dr. Ziegner really concerns herself with your well-being. If she thinks there is someone out there who would be more knowledgable with your ailment she is not to proud to refer you. She just wants you well. She is very well respected by her patients and peers. Dr. Ziegners office location is very easy to find and once there they even offer to pay for the metered parking which is located directly infront of her office. Riviera allergy is a beautiful office, very clean, very comfortable for kids and adults. I have nothing but praise for Dr. Ziegner and her professionalism. I have refered many people and all have been very pleased and extremely impressed by her knowledge and resourcefulness. I have never had a problem with Riviera Allergy. I recently took my 4 year old for skin testing with Dr. Ziegner because of her kid friendly approach he very very good. It is obvious to me that she is a mom by the way she relates to her tiniest patients. My son really loved the incredible kids area. My kid was not intimidated by the exam room, because of its juvenile decor. The doctor explaind everything to me as a normal adult rather than a doctor to doctor relationship. I highly recommend Dr. Ziegner, she has made an incredible difference in my sons life and in mine. Dr. Ziegner is a true professional who cares for her patients enough to help my friend who was having an.. allergic reaction into her office after hours on a friday night. Did I mention that he was a Kaiser patient ? Not only did she not bill him she called me to check on him and thank me for urging him to see a doctor. \r \r But you can not compare Dr. Ziegner to most other doctors because she is more thorough than 90% people in this field. While I think most people have been trained by doctors to spend eight minutes with them and then leave with some pills, she really wants to take a detailed report of your personal medical history. This is why tell people to allow at least two hours for a really caring, smart, understanding, knowledgable, doctor who will follow up and follow through with all of your medical needs. \r \r I could go on for days about the number of people who I have reffered to her who have been very happy to have had her call them on a Saturday night and open her office to see them on Sunday morning. \r \r It makes me very sad to see poor remarks with out names because Dr. Ziegner is the type of person who would take constructive criticism and really find a solution.\r \r In addition to me being a big fan my 12 year old and 10 year old are also very aware of extra care we receive at Riviera Allergy Center. \r \r Thank you for having a great office,\r \r Debbie Allen Pros: I WISH ALL DOCTORS WERE LIKE DR. I have been taking my 2 children with severe food allergies to Dr. Ziegner for over 2 years. She is very caring and gave me great advice. She expects that when she gives a parent advice about cutting foods that you'll follow it and if you don't she does get irritated. But I believe that is because she actually cares about her patients.\r \r Her office staff actually saved my daughter's life when she accidentally ate a peanut butter sandwich at school. My mom picked up my daugther and rushed her to Dr. Ziegner's office because it was closer than the hospital. My daughter was in her office for 3-4 hours, was projectile ""sick"" all over the exam room including 2 of Dr. Ziegner's staff members, and they treated her and I with complete compasion and concern. \r \r Guess what my bill was after that episode. A normal office visit, less than $100. \r \r Yes she wants her office clean. Yes she gets upset if you leave your children in the playroom by themselves. But I can take that when in the end she provides good care and actually saves lives. I went into this office under the assumption from my real doctor that Dr.Ziegner was a wonderful family doctor for allergies. I have 3 small children in stair steps. I was shuffled from room to room and she was really irritated when my son was eating a snack. The next time I came in she had told me how much she discouraged eating in her office because the staff had to pick up crumbs and she did not like her office being messed up. The nurse gave my daughter a lollypop for being good about her skin test. While we were leaving, I heard Dr.Ziegner yelling at the nurse that she should not have done that because she doesn't like a messed up office and she did not want her to do that again. I thought that was very considerate of the nurse and it made my daughter feel good. She talked about having twin girls and she has pictures all over the office of them. She did not seem every friendly with mine. I left there feeling like they were a burden to the staff and the doctor. Pros: Not a lot of people in the office Cons: Doctor seemed rude with kids, very harsh and quick with staff, not every understanding with childrens needs more

If you don't like to wait, you won't like it here.\r I was waiting in the waiting room for a long time. When I was finally put in a room I waited forever for the nurse to come in. I waited forever for the doctor to come in. I finally got fed up and opened the door, hoping she would come in sooner. I sat there for a long, long ttime talking in German to some woman that did not seem to be a patient. The lady in the front kept telling me she was coming and she was a little behind. She kept standing there talking to this woman. I can understand some German, so this was upsetting to hear her talking about sewing some clothes. What does that have to do with patients and their allergiers? She finally came in about 40 minutes later. I did not leave there until after 6:30 and the staff seemed to rush me out. I was pleased to meet with a doctor from my home country Germany. I much enjoyed the conversation. I was concerned that the doctor cared to talk about Germany more than my allergy or sinus problems. I read the other reviews and I could not believe that I had alot of the same problems they had experienced. Each time I went in there was different staff and no one could help me with what needed to be done. I often felt alone and I was struggling to get my meds then I would finally give up and go see my regular doctor. I felt ignored by the staff and was left in the waiting room or the exam room for long periods of time. Everytime I had requested my labs, I was never given the complete results. They was usually something missing or forgotten. Then they would want me to do another test. I found this to be very bothersome and annoying. I got very frustrated with the quality of service. This office was highly recommended, but when I got their I wondered why. I don't think the staff was too concerned with me and ignored me the whole time I was in the waiting room. I could not be seen on a Saturday as I requested due to my work schedule. Even though I was told that they had Saturday appointments and that would not be a problem. So I was forced to take an entire day off of work because it took several hours. Pros: Doctor was informative but somewhat rude Cons: the staff and they handling of my lab work more
