Ridiculously tiny, not so tasty, expensive portions and owners that don't care to respond to feedback make this place not worth it. I really wanted to like this place for using lo...

Best Food in Glenwood South 6/14/2005

Really enjoyed it. Been there 5 times in the last 2 weeks for lunch and had different sandwiches each time. All are great. Very good service. more

Delectable, delicate dining 6/14/2005

From the chill ambience to the eclectic cuisine, this tapas restaurant has it all. I dined there this week for lunch. I was delighted at the moderate prices for lunch and the variety of the menu. I savored the Pepper Steak Wrap. I can't wait to return for a scrumptious dinner this Thursday with friends. I highly recommend this interesting restaurant. more

My wife and I have gone to Zely and Ritz since it first opened. Every visit has been fantastic. I last visited with a large group and we were well taken care of ! Overall a great place for drinking moderately proced wine with excellent plates of interesting and tasty food. Pros: Chef / food, Service, Wine more

Thank you! 5/24/2005

When we received your Zely and Ritz May Newsletter we felt compelled to express our thanks for our wonderful experience in your restaurant. As we took full advantage of the extraordinary wine selection, only the hip decor and unique, delicately prepared dishes interrupted our steady stream of conversation, i.e., your wait staff knew when and when not to interrupt the table. So lets break this down: Atmosphere Wine selection Food presentation Food quality It appears that you have all of the bases covered. Thanks again for wonderful evening! Pros: Wine List!!, Food Presentation, Unique Selections more

Chef Sarig's food is worth the trip(s)! Go. 5/24/2005

Having endured Tasca Brava on Friday, we decided to try Zely & Ritz on Saturday. What a wonderful departure! The service was prompt and courteous, although the waitress seemed a bit new. The food was - Awesome -. Not quite as spectacular as Chef Taylor's culinary delights at the Underground, but well worth the trip and definitely worth a repeat visit for us in the future. Pricing was a tad high for Tapas, but still a reasonable value for the quality of the meal. Pros: Awesome food, Courteous Staff, Nice location more

NEW HOT SPOT 5/4/2005

The best new restaurant is Zely & Ritz. I think Chef Sarig is the most talented and creative chef in Raleigh. I was a faithful follower from his former ""Butterflies"" now he truly shines in this new setting. The small plates all showcase his flare for unique tastes and combinations few other chefs dare to explore. Nancy's extensive wine list will amaze and compliment any dish you choose. This place ROCKS! more

Food so good I thought I was in NYC or SF 5/3/2005

As an executive traveller, I've had great food all over the world but the Raleigh food scene was always pretty plain and so-so same. Wow is this different. Lots of small plates with incredibly interesting choices and a fantastic wine list. We had the goat cheese, tomato, and mustard greens and the octopus stew for starters. Then we had the emu and and whole trout. For sides we had the greens with prosciuto and lobster risotto. All of it was perfectly spiced and flavorfull. Just incredible. Then surprise! the desserts were as good as the meal -- an incredibly rich chocolate cake and a rosemary pine nut tart that was one of the best desserts I've ever tasted. Hats off to chef, who came out to talk to us between courses. We'll be back here again and again. Pros: unique items, cool atmosphere, the communal table more

Fresh, delightful and delicious 4/24/2005

The chef's previous restaurant was good but he has moved beyond that to great. The flavors are inventive, the ingredients incredibly fresh, and the atmosphere hip but comfortable. I went on a packed night with friends 8 and sat at the communal table. Despite the crowd the soundproofing and layout were such we had no problem hearing each other. We ordered 8 tapas and 4 desserts and shared them all. Not a mis-step to be found. We are eager to go back and try the dishes we didn't order. The polenta and risotto especially should not be missed. Our favorite meat was the rack of lamb. Whatever you do, save room for the chocolate mousse dome! Pros: free parking behind!, something for everyon, Inventive more

Left Hungry 3/30/2005

Very little value for the money. The food was expensive and there wasn't much of it. The menu seemed less like tapas and more like family style. The salad was tasty but very small when shared. The scallops were not the best I've had. more
