I had such a great experience at Z (Bardstown Road). The staff are friendly and helpful. I just moved here from another city/state and really felt welcome. The Aveda experience is always so relaxing and my stylist (Shawn) did a great job expressing to me what he was going to do and made certain that he understood what I wanted. I love Aveda products and this salon made that experience top notch. A very classy place and the service is brilliant. more

I visited the Z Salon at the Seelbach location and was treated wonderfully from the moment I made the appointment to walking out the door! I was given a tour before meeting with the stylist and the staff was so attentive. I left with one of the best haircuts I've ever had and will never go anywhere else. While the design of the spa is outstanding, there are employees that make the spa experience less than enjoyable. I have tried FOUR times to arrange a service with one employee, and each time I was moved to someone that I did not care for. If you book an appointment and are expecting one person, I don't feel that the "bait and switch" is appropriate. Z needs to get a better handle on their appointment scheduling. Also, it's advisable to use the express checkout. If you go to the front and wait in line - you'll be there for 15 minutes minimum. Pros: Design and atmosphere are pleasing. Cons: Appointment desk will schedule you with one person - when you show up, you're assigned to someone else. more

I have been to many spas and I was barely satisfied with Z's. I am only writing because I feel it isn't a male friendly spa. I have a hard time getting the same therapist for massage (they seem to come and go all the time). Using the same therapist once you have found one you like is a huge benefit. Does it have any male members of management? Has it ever? If it's focus is females than O.k., I am sorry, I should have gone somewhere else in the first place. I felt uncomfortable at first and out of place. I just feel that it's more for women than men and I will probably not go again. It is a nice looking spa and the reception was pleasant; maybe someday it will employ more men and use their ideas...or maybe not. more

I've had several services here - from cut to color to facial to massage - & all of them are wonderful. The atmosphere is amazing, & the customer service is the best I've ever had. I refuse to go anywhere else. more

i went there today to get some services done. the people there are GREAT!!!!!! i would definitly reccomend this place to anyone looking for any pampering. the technicians at the spa desk were so friendly and helpful. they made me feel amazing. even the people at the cheeckout desk were friendly and helpful. thanks for making my day z staff!!!!!!!!!!!! I came to Z salon and spa to get a facial and massage. When I came in the door there were people to greet me and take my coat. They went out of their way to make me comfortable in the Womans Lounge (drinks, steam shower and foot soak). The massage was very relaxing and I felt so much better after. I have had many massages where it felt great during the massage but I felt about the same after the massage as I did when I came in the door. The facial was so much more the a facial. I was very relaxed the whole time, I almost fell asleep by the end. overall I loved my trip and would come to this salon and spa again. more

I have been going to salons for many years now and lived all over the country. I was very impressed to move to Kentucky and see such a well run establishment. I have mostly just gotten my hair cut here, but everyone I have encountered has been polite and helpful. I have found a stylist who has given me one of the best hair cuts I have ever received. The hand and head massage they give you while washing your hair is wonderful. I would recommend this place to a friend. First time visitor at Z Salon (4th Street location). Fantastic experience! Was recommended by a friend and I enjoyed 3 hours of pampering! All the staff were so helpful and gave incredible service. I was completely satisfied leaving the salon and have already recommended it to several friends who have seen my new look. The cuts are a particularly great value! I'll just mention 2 tips: specify which location you are booking at when you call (the call-center is located in one place), also the bad hair cut mentioned in another review was given by a "New Talent" hair designer...so count the cost and if you go with New Talent, you'll most likely get a great cut, but you may not. I decided to go with an Advanced Designer and for the extra $10 I think it's worth it to be certain I'm going to walk away satisfied! I am on a budget. So, the Z salon's New Talent option is awesome! You call and make an appointment with a new talent and the prices are greatly discounted. Olivia did my color and it was amazing. There are risks in getting a new talent; they are after all new. Do not go to Keisha. I found the hard way, she is not good. Jacqueline is awesome at cutting hair!I belive the Keisha hair cut was an isolated incident and does not reflect the quality of the salon. Z salon is the best salon in Louisville!!!! I just went to Z's location downtown, and I think I had the BEST experience I could possibly have. I was nervous to go in because of the reviews I read, plus it seems a little intimidating if you have never been there before. But the receptionists were so friendly when I walked in, I already felt better. I had the best Massage and Pedicure of my life! And when I finished my pedicure the receptionist said they had a cancellation for a haircut, so i figured I'd go ahead and take it. I walked out of there looking and feeling like a moviestar!!! I cancelled all my hair appointments at my other salon and will now be going to Z's. They are amazing. If you ever get a massage please see Abbie! I do love going to Z salon however I never know if I will have to deal with a person at the front desk with a VERY snobby attitude. It is amazing to me that the last time I went there I just got off work and had my suit on. The time before, I had the day off and just got done cleaning.
