Willoughby Hills Auto Repair

This is a great auto repair shop that I have been using for close to 5 years. They are a locally-owned, family-owned shop and I always feel as though I am important as their customer. A typical experience goes like follows: You call ahead of time to schedule an appointment (Even for an oil change, which can sometimes border on inconvenient, but the service is worth it!). When you come in you are greeted by one of the fantstic ladies at the front counter. They take your keys, go over your order and ask you to sign it. They offer a ride or you can schedule a rental car ahead of time (for free if you purchase service). Often it takes most of the day for their three(?) mechanics to work through all the vehicles on their schedule so plan on leaving your vehicle for most of the day. They will call you and tell you the condition of your vehicle. Then they call you when its time to pick up and again offer a ride. When you get in, they go over the repair order and explain what the mechanics did. On repairs they provide a fixed-for-life warranty which means you never have to pay for the same repair ever again! The last few times I have found a goody-bag in my vehicle with candy, a small botter of water, and some literature, but what really got me: I got a phone call a week after my vehicle had been in for service that simply said ""thank you for your business"". How often does that happen anymore? By my second visit, the staff already knew my first name. I really wanted to like this place based on other reviews, but was extremely disappointed. First, they made me bring my car in for an estimate on services I was requesting be done. Almost all of the other shops I called did not require this if I was requesting specific services. Second, when they finally got me a quote 6 hours later, it was astronomical. Shockingly, service for service, the VW dealership quoted cheaper prices! Surrounding auto repair shops were substantially cheaper. For example, Willoughby Hills Auto Repair quoted me $965 to replace timing belt, water pump, and coolant fluid (coolant flush), while surrounding shops quoted $500-650 for the exact same three services. Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere and was extremely satisfied with the results. The only thing this place has going for it are friendly employees, but I assure you that can also be found at other repair shops. Information is abundant today, which in turn makes consumers much more knowledgeable. Businesses need to start taking that in to account and price services properly. Make sure you get multiple quotes when having any repairs done. more

Been coming here for a few years. The mechanics have always done a great job and the office staff is very friendly and accommodating. I enjoy how this repair shop connects with its customers on various social media outlets like Facebook. I would recommend them to anyone. more

I can't believe the five star service I received when recently visiting this family-owned auto repair facility in Willoughby Hills. Across from Gales garden center, Ive passed it a thousand times on my way to work and never noticed it before I had a need to stop in. I saw their advertisements on TV for tires and decided to stop in for a price. The associate Tim was extremely friendly, cordial and helpful. While I waited for him to crunch the numbers I noticed that most people who walked in were greeted by their first name. It was like a small-town experience in the middle of suburbia! You NEVER hear of this anymore! Needless to say their price beat three other competitors that I had called - but I was so impressed I would have gladly given them my business either way. When it came time to get my tires on they set me up in a free loaner vehicle (minus the cost of gasoline) and my vehicle was ready on time, they even left a nice little goodie bag on the seat for me. I was really blown away by how they went above and beyond. more

This shop recommended a repair that cost a total of $3,000. The problem was that the steering wheel was shaking until 60 mph. They wanted to do some major work to fix it. We got a second opinin and the fix ended up being 2 new tires for a grand total of $165 at another place. more
