Best

We just moved to the Bothell area and discovered that there is a What the Pho right by our house. We love it soooo much. We go there usually once a week and we never get sick of...

Worst

Seriously don't know why anyone would eat here. Expensive, not authentic, taste bland. Sure the name is funny but if you really want good bowl of Pho, you'd go to Than Brother. ...

A good place to avoid 2/25/2010

A good place to avoid if you want to be treated like the restaurant wants you as a customer! I have frequented this establishment several times in the past because of convenience. It is overpriced and they have poor to somewhat rude service. Today was the worst. I arrived to a fairly packed restaurant. With three empty tables I was the first in line to be seated. Subsequently three groups of two entered behind me. After waiting ten minutes, and having watched the three groups of two being seated before me, I was left standing there with no open tables left so I left and will never return! Don't put yourself in my situation. Pros: Close to Work Cons: Service is Poor to Downright Rude more

Good pho, GREAT pork spring rolls 9/5/2008

The pho was good, the pork spring rolls were awesome. Mmmm... bbq pork... Service was good, stir frys are pretty good. Interior is clean and generally comfy, never had a problem with service. The main drawback is the small parking lot. Convenient location in bellevue though. Pros: Pork spring rolls, location, service Cons: small parking lot more

We love it in Bothell! 6/17/2008

We just moved to the Bothell area and discovered that there is a What the Pho right by our house. We love it soooo much. We go there usually once a week and we never get sick of it. I switch back and forth getting chicken pho or the Wok Fire Grill...#71 and 72. I like the lemon grass stir-fry with chicken and the basil one with steak. Their food is very fresh and healthy. I think we'll go tomorrow....we crave it! more

"What the Pho" was right! 10/28/2007

Walking in the feel is more brushed metal than bamboo. The atmosphere is sleekand modern and nothing like a stereotypical pho restaurant. This would not bad if the food more closely resembled traditional Vietnamese cuisine. Unfortunately I walked away asking what the pho was that... The broth was tepid and noodles still uncooked. If you have ever had true Vietnamese coffee you would be ashamed, it was oily and burned and most likely a canned immitation. Pros: nice almost sports bar feel Cons: bad food more

Best Pho in Seattle and Eastside 8/21/2007

How many restaurants in Seattle & the Eastside give you a great atmosphere, friendly service, highly quality food, table side service and great prices? Hmm, the list is short, so I can put What the Pho as my Number #1. Maybe there has not been enough competitors in the past or restaurantors have gotten lazy and greedy, but this restaurant delivers great service, tasty food, excellent Vietanamese Food, awesome atmosphere for fun or a client meal. Also, Pho restaurants in general - most of them are very distinct...the word "seedy" comes to mind or dirty - What the Pho provides a polished, chic environment for those of us who want to have a great dining experience. Wake up Seattle and the Eastside - chain restaurants are not the only ones that want repeat customers - What the Pho proves that there is a restaurant that really cares about giving great service and food - a concept I thought got lost to Vegas and California. Pros: Enroute to shopping at Bellevue Square & easy for client meetings, excellent food & service Cons: There is not yet one in Seattle :( more

Quick, hot, good, cheap food. Prompt service. 8/19/2007

I love this place, my girlfriends and I meet here about once a week to catch up and eat dinner. There is one waiter who always waits on us, he doesn't need to ask what we want anymore, he just asks if we'd like the usual. We started going here because it's healthy and affordable, we continue to go because we're welcome, our water and tea never goes empty the service is prompt and the soup is always delicious. Pros: Easy to find, plenty of parking. Cons: Wooden chairs are not very comfortable for sitting. more

Stylin' Pho Joint on the Eastside 10/8/2006

Maybe its location influenced its decor. Right in the middle of NE 8th, a block or two away from Bell Square, sits a modern styled pho joint with relatively good food. Its a large deviance from the drab places I've gone to, and believe me..I've been to many. Pros: Yummy Food, Prompt Service, Best Pho Environment Yet Cons: Lack of parking more

Best looking PHO place 9/15/2006

Pho was pretty tastey. I just recently tried one of their stir-fry dishes and it was great. The rice could have been a little more cooked, but edible and the stir-fry made up for it. I talked to a gentleman seated next to me and he gets this dish almost everyday. It was the Stir-fry with Basil. Service was better than most pho places. Also, the interior was clean. Pros: Interior, parking, good service Cons: lunch parking is crazy. more

pricey for a pho joint 9/2/2005

pho was not bad but the prawn dishes for dinner served up only 5-6 prawns each (at $9-10), and they weren't even deveined. granted there were lots of fresh vegetables, but seemed rather pricey. would be ok if you just went for the pho (5.95 small, 6.95 for large). they must cook the pho to order because it took a long time to show up at the table. more

Best Pho in Bellevue with NO MSG!

Owner Message
  • Welcome to What the Pho! Restaurants

Pho has been described as the "National Dish of Vietnam." At What the Pho! Restaurants, we could not agree more. Our pho broth is a meticulous twelve-hour process. We use fresh, quality beef bones, whole sides of brisket and flank, traditional herbs, aromatic vegetables and skinless chicken breasts to develop our savory broths. Our lengthy process and careful simmering methods develop a unique, lively flavor. Combined with fresh rice noodles, thinly sliced cuts of eye round steak, brisket and flank, book tripe, tendon, fresh squeezed lime, bean sprouts, sliced jalapenos and fragrant basil leaves, a large steaming bowl is hard to resist.

However, our menu does not end there. We also offer a variety of delicious appetizers, flavorful stir-fry dishes and traditional grilled meats with rice and vermicelli noodles. Please peruse our on-line menu and discover what we have to offer.

Thank you for visiting our website, we're always updating so please check back often for the most current information. We look forward to seeing you at one of our locations.

Our parents were among the first Vietnamese political refugees to immigrate to America in the mid-1970's. With not much else besides useless currency from South Vietnam and age-old recipes, they brought Vietnamese food to the Puget Sound area. We have always hoped to continue that tradition. With the opening of What the Pho! in Bellevue, our wish to extend their legacy and our desire to bring Vietnamese food to a new region was realized.

We want to separate ourselves from other Vietnamese Pho restaurants by offering a clean eating environment, modern décor, fast, friendly service, savory food and a focus on the customer. All for a reasonable price.

Every What the Pho restaurant tries their best to accommodate all of your dining needs. If you have any questions or comments, please ask for the Manager on duty or look under "Contact Us".. 4 LOCATIONS to serve you:
