Excellent experience at this hospital 3/23/2013

Excellent experience at this hospital. They treated my dog when he had a bad accident at 2am a few years ago when I just moved to the area. I couldn't think of going anywhere else now. They are very pleasant and willing to accommodate to me whenever necessary. more

Dr Jared Coren - I won't bring my pets anywhere else ever again 11/20/2012

I had recently moved and my cat was very sick. I searched high and low for a quality vet who i could trust. I found dr Jared Coren. A more brilliant personable man with a better bedside manner you'd be hard pressed to find. He gave my very ill cat a blood transfusion And completely took over to rectify the less than stellar treatment she had received at another hospital the day before. He for the time being made my cat feel better and I know that no matter what happens she is in the absolute best hands possible. more

Excellent staff and great hospital. So many hospitals leave our loved ones with no one in the hospital overnight when they are sick - atleast at West Hills I know that they are being cared for after hours since people are there. All the doctors are so caring, especially Dr. Coren. I wouldn't go anywhere else. more

After moving to Long Island 8 years ago I needed to find a vet for my babies. A friend recommended I go to West Hills and immediately I understood why she spoke so highly of the place. The staff was courteous and attentive; the doctor was knowledgeable and had a way of explaining medical terms in a way I understood. I more

Amazing service/Great staff!! 7/21/2011

I have been bringing my dog to West Hills animal hospital for 13 long and strong years, and I can never even imagine going to a different veterinarian. My main reason is that I really love all of the staff! I brought my dog in today for a checkup and everyone knew him by name and came over to say hi. They are all such caring people and really know how to treat the animals, as well as the clients, from the moment they step in the door and even until after they have already left the building (they helped me carry the heavy bag of dog food to the car without me even asking!). My dog means the world to me, and the fact that they treat him so well is always so comforting!! more

I have had many years experience with vets/animal hospitals and the like ... I also hold a medical degree. As with all health issues, you must be an informed advocate for your 'child' and you must include the idea that people are not perfect, they make mistakes and there are regrettable outcomes. Sadly, there are some jerks out there that one should recognise asap ... and avoid them.\r \r Get the picture in your head that you should be the Vets' partner in the care of your 'kidlet'.The key to good care is having your own, solid knowledge and the ability of pushing for a second, third or fourth opinion. A sick critter can be just as much an emotional roller-coaster ride as a sick child.\r \r Having said all that ... long and boring as it was ... I am completely satisfied with the care and professionalism I have seen at WHAH. The staff from a-z has been the best in my experience to date and it was apparent that our cocker and abbyssinian were most comfortable in their care. The cost for diag more

West Hills AH is great as long as your paying $$ 3/6/2011

Sounds like Jason C. works at WHAH. West Hills AH is very expensive and will run up the bill if given the chance. As with any service, do your homework and research your pet's diagnosis. Weigh your options. Remember, your Vet's advice may not benefit you and your pet, but his checking account.\r \r BTW, Instead of paying $250-400 for spaying/neutering, look for low-cost services in your area, like Kent in Calverton. more

Thank you West Hills Animal Hospital 1/4/2011

I have been going to West Hills Animal Hospital for the past 10 years with my animals. I am really surprised to read the reviews below regarding the hospital. Myself and all of my friends bring our pets to West Hills and we have nothing but wonderful things to say about it. Anytime you need them they are always there for your pet. I am always able to speak to a veterinarian there, unlike my medical doctor, and they are very pleasant. When my Shih Tzu got sick in the middle of the night I was met at the hospital by a doctor and they were able to perform all the diagnostics they needed right then. And for the service they provide, the price is very reasonable. I have checked with other hospitals who charge the same amount or more and want to leave my pet unsupervised overnight. Not a chance. Thank you West Hills! more

I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else 1/4/2011

West Hills Animal Hospital truly is the best animal hospital that you can take your pets. The service is impeccable and everyone is wonderful. Unfortunately the only people writing about the hospital are the few that have had issues. It doesn't represent the 1000's of happy clients like myself. If you love your pet and want someone watching them when they are sick rather than being sent to an emergency hospital where they don't know you, West Hills Animal Hospital is the place for you. more

A Total Scam 3/26/2010

I was appauled by the service I recieved and all the rude staff. My dog was prescribed to a medication and put on a "special food" for a week for his stomach, when I got a second opinion at my vet in nyc he could not believe this vet gave me medication for a parasite which my dog clearly did not have due to ALL the testing they did on him. Either they are clueless or have a car payment to make. No one minds spending money on their dogs at the vet but when you go in for something that should have cost 200 and leave spending 600 just for tests and medication, that is ubserd. It is horrible that people are scammed by this place. Just because it is clean and certified does not mean anything. There are better places to go in long island. They are also associated with puppy stores so obviously they have no morals supporting puppy mills. Cons: over priced for horrible services. more

25 Yr Client, but know your Doctor 6/24/2009

West Hills is my vet. It is the cleanest office I've been to. We went to a specialist office and he came home from fleas. Pros: 24 Hr Care, Very Clean, Some Experienced Vets Cons: Besides the three top Vets, others stay 1 year or less more
