I used the Rodent specialist here for my gerbil and was very happy with his diagnosis and treatment. When he died the Vet called me and sent a sympathy card which I still keep. For this reason I had no reason to believe that any other Dr wasn?t as competent. I was wrong. We bought a puppy from Shake a Paw in Hicksville. I am against puppy store but I fell in love and he was an expensive rescue. However I was told to treat anything for 90 days I should use West Hills. I figured since all puppy's get kennel cough and need some anti biotics I figured why not. My fiancee tool him to a female vet not sure of her name Dr Breffney , not sure.....anyway he was seen and given this AB that a human can?t touch because it can cause a severe anemia - GREAT!! We gave this to my puppy for about 4 days and his cough got worse- I called when the snot coming out of his nose was yellow and was told by the Dr that they just saw him the day before and his chest was dry. I insisted that his snot was yellow and was told in a patronizing voice, well if you really need to bring him in then fine and well do a chest x ray but you need to give him a little more time. I went one more day against my better judgment and happened to speak to my normal vet MY PETS VET DR BROOKE about my Boston Terrier that was being treated for something. The Dr said to me to get that puppy in today as his snot now turned green from his nose. We did that night to MY vet -they took an x ray -he was burning up with fever, and had double pneumonia and was being given three days to get him better or he will most likely die!!!
Pros: large and 24 hours -GReat Rodent Dr
Cons: inexperienced Vet skills from the person who mis diagnosed my puppy
