Military and Civilians Stay Away! 8/21/2013

While I can post a warning on the military housing website to avoid this company, you will not see it unless you have access to it. If somebody is looking to rent a property from this company, they should just be aware of the possibility for poor communications and treatment by the staff. There is also the possibility of bogus or inflated charges being deducted to your security deposit. We had a very unpleasant experience all around.\r \r Please do not use Welch Randall Real Estate if you are a renter or a landlord. Our property manager was changed to this company 7 days before our lease termination and move-out date. We are military and had PCS orders. My husband had just returned from a year deployment from Afghanistan and we were moving to a new place to the northeast. That being said, when we received our security deposit (or what was left of it) we were very dismayed to see that $800 of it was deducted!!!!\r \r More than half of our deposit was taken. 300 dollars to clean the more

Horrible experience 7/8/2013

Welch Randall is the WORST. Read any of the many, many negative reviews all over the internet. They are dishonest, disorganized, and inept. They will do anything they can to keep your security deposit. They consider this a service they perform for the owners. Read the move-out checklist and associated charges carefully because you are going to get screwed no matter how clean or careful you are. Take pictures of every single thing when you move in. Insist upon a walk-through because they will not do one if they can get away with it, and then they will tell you later that if you didn't point it out when you moved in, you were responsible for it. Point out every tiny little thing you can possibly find. Point out what is dirty and what is clean. The staff is awful. Brad is nice and very courteous and charming but you'll never talk to him again. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! We rented (first and last time ever) when we moved back to the area while looked for a house to buy. The place had pee and boogers in every corner, we asked for it to be cleaned and ended up doing it ourselves. Allison is a train-wreck and a joke. Never followed through or kept her word. Carpet was SO wet when we moved in, we couldn't use the basement for a week. THEN the foundation started leaking and was spreading mold all over but we we just liars for months. They never completely fixed the problem - just treated us like whiners. We finally paid the "early out" fee to get out - was brutal on my asthmatic son. You don't need somewhere to live badly enough to deal with these people. Keep looking. more

There buisnessis doing well from what I have read and seen but for my apinyon they don't poses the nessasary skills to show what they do. Be aware they charge for anything! 9/9/2008

The Welch Agency ripped me off. I spent three days cleaning, busted my butt and it still wasn't good enough. Be aware they charge $45 an hour to clean. My deposit was $800 and $700 was refundable. So the $100 they say went to re-keying the locks. Expensive! I had two holes in the wall from a shelve that I hung up. They charged me $250 to patch it and fix it. Unbelievable! In the end I'm getting a $I60 back. I do not recommended renting from this agency. They seem very eager to rent to you at first, but when you need to leave thats when they stick it to ya. It seems to me like they are trying to make money off this security deposit thing. more

Do not recommend renting (don't know about using their agents) 7/1/2008

We have rented from Welch Agency. Our apartment manager was very friendly right at the beginning. However, I was not impressed later. He would not return my phone calls when I needed to ask him something; I had to call up the office's main desk to get a question answered. I feel that their move-out policy is odd. Renter pays for carpet cleaning no matter what. Also, we left the apartment clean, and they still charged us out of our security deposit. more
