Great Food & Great Service 2/22/2009

My wife and I have been to the VUE three times and each time have felt this is the BEST restaurant either of us have ever visited. As background I have traveled for work and eaten in some good restaurants across the US, in Rome, Buenos Ares, Tokyo and Sao Paulo and while I have had some meals I thought were great the Vue put them all is second place.\r \r Trip one. We had three bottles of Chateau Rothschild and felt we needed a great paring. Contacted Vue and worked with both their chief and sommelier to create a custom menu for our party of 10. With that many we also needed a couple bottles from the Vue's wine list to start and finish the meal. Everyone said that they thoroughly enjoyed every paring.\r Trip two Just the wife and I this time for Dec 31 meal. This time we ordered from the menu. Calamari is to die for. Caesar salad was a good opening for my Atlantic Salmon with Roasted Tomato Risotto and her Black Pearl Frenched Pork Chop. We shared a Lemon Verbina Creme Brulee. This time the wine steward made a nice suggestion of Red Truck Pino Noir that we both liked.\r Trip three Valentines day. Had to have the Claamari again. I had the Garganelli Pasta with House Smoked Chicken and she had Caramelized Sea Scallops. No desert this time but we again tried a new wine suggestion, Far Niente Cabernet. We selected the Warm Bread pudding for desert.\r Would like to visit more often but Hudson is a bit of a drive for us and we feel we would be spoiled for eating out anywhere else so will probably limit ourselves to four or five times a year.\r \r Service is friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Pros: Food taste, wine offerings Cons: hard to find any cons more

Terrible Customer Service 5/17/2007

I have not eaten at Vue, and the food may be wonderful; however, I did purchase a gift certificate over the phone to be sent to my parents for my father's birthday. I called on a Wednesday and my father's birthday was one week away. Mailing from Hudson to Hudson should only have taken a few days. I was told my gift certificate would be mailed on Thursday, the following day. \r The charge did not appear on my credit card until the following Monday, which was 5 days after I placed the order. My mother began calling the restaurant that day and leaving messages inquiring about the certificate which had not yet arrived and none of her 3 phone calls to were returned. So over a week after purchasing the gift certificate, and a day after my father's birthday had already past, she drove to the restaurant to inquire about the certificate in person. She was simply told that it had been mailed ""earlier"" and was handed a new gift certificate at the point. I was VERY disappointed at the terrible customer service and the fact that they made no effort to throw in a little something extra to make up for the fact that the gift certificate did not arrive in time for my father's birthday because they did NOT process and mail it when they had promised to.\r So I would definitely not recommend purchasing a gift certificate unless you plan to go and purchase it in person. more

Simply Put the best restaurant in Ohio...HANDS DOWN!!! 5/1/2007

Anyone who slams this restaurant or gives it any type of negative feedback is simply put...OUT OF THEIR MIND!!! My better half and I have never. I reapeat. NEVER!!! Enjoyed a restaurant in our lives as much as we enjoyed Vue. It is without a doubt one of the best places to eat in Ohio. The wine list is exquisite to say the least. The food is literally amazing. The service was without a doubt A++++. Everyone we encountered was not only professional, but down to earth and eager to help our night become just as magical as it was. If you have not experienced this place. It would be in your best interest to do so!!!! We have officially dubbed the Vue Restaurant and Lounge our Special Occasion location for eternity. Cheers to the owners, chefs, and all other employees who make this place as enjoyable as it was and always is when we dine there. Pros: Everything! Cons: None!!! more

Over Priced & Over Rated 11/1/2006

Recently visited the Vue in Hudson on October 27, 2006. This place is way overpriced. It's pretty sad when the recommendation from the staff is the pork chop. It was obvious that the Vue lacks talent in the kitchen. Of the four meals ordered the Pork Chop was dry, Pasta was average, Cod was undercooked, Beef Medallions over seasoned. The wine list is extensive, but it's hard to find a great tasting great value wine anywhere on this list. The atmosphere is nice, the food and service are below average. When we first arrived at the bar we sat there for a good 15 minutes before the bartender even presented us with a drink menu or acknowledged our presence. By the time she did our table was ready.\r \r This is a great restaurant if you don't mind overpaying for terrible food and service. 4 meals, 4 salads, 2 average bottles of wine, 2 horrible desserts - Cost $300.00.\r \r Bottom line is there are great restaurants out there; this is not one of them.\r Pros: Entertainment in the Bar more

Vue = fantastic! 5/16/2006

Vue is fantastic! It is one of the best restaurants at which I have ever eaten. The menu selection is unique and tasty. In particular, I LOVE the ahi tuna appetizer - DELICIOUS! I think the menu is much better than it was before January. It now has something for everyone - you can have the full fine dining experience or if you're just in the mood for a sandwich - that's available too! The atmosphere is great and the live music is a nice addition. Vue is just what Hudson needed! Pros: menu, atmosphere Cons: nothing! more

New Management and New Chef 5/1/2006

I have been dining at VUE since they openned in 05 and I always had a great experience from the cuisine to the service. However, after January of 06 when VUE changed management and their chef, the restaurant took a nosedive. I dined there again in April 06 and it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. The manager did know his wines, but he seemed to talk down to me when I didn't order the Brunello di Montaculchio for $185 and instead ordered a Cabernet for $55. He came off as pompus. The food was mediocre and not at all worth the price. I ordered a steak for $35 and the lady next to me was eating a panini. I never thought VUE would turn into a sandwich shop!? Where did the old staff go????!!! more

I don't even know where to begin with the experience we had at VUE. First of all, they were out of 2 wines that we asked for. Second, the service was absolutely horrible. My friends and I were there on a Saturday night and the restaurant was half empty. We saw our waiter standing at the bar just talking to other patrons. Third, 2 of us ordered the Wild Striped Bass and it was so bad, neither one of us took more than 2-3 bites of it. Another person in our party had the monkfish and she said it was very bland. They were not very apologetic when we told them how horrible our entrees were. All in all this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I have ever had. I would never recommend VUE to anyone. more

Outstanding dining experience 10/21/2005

Vue Restaurant is a welcome addition to the Hudson restaurant scene. The food is unique and delicious with a fantastic wine selection. The best part of the Vue dining experience is the ambience - the decor and attention to detail for the dining experience is well worth a visit! more

great service 10/13/2005

in the world today the service industry seems like no one cares about your experience, get up in and out as fast as possible menality. But at the Vue, things were different. the customer service was impeciable. Their servers cared, had great suggestions, and didn't rush us through like a herd of cattle. It was the largest tip I think I have left for one server in a long time. Bravo!!!! more
