Viewpoint Vision Clinic

Extremely rude, unfriendly, and expensive. They overcharged for services and contacts. My contacts were defective and instead of replacing them I was told I must have done something to my eyes to cause the problem. I was given a trial pair and they worked just fine. I was then told they will reorder new boxes but I would not receive the whole box because I used the defective lens and was given a trial. I then asked for my money back to go somewhere else and was told this conversation is over and the person I was dealing with left the premises. They now have my defective contacts, prescription, and my money. Extremely bad customer service by one person in particular and instead of dealing with her just go to another eye care professional who is happy to serve you. Very shady business and I would avoid this place. more

Dr. Cothran is the best! He is so thorough with his explanations and has the best sense of humor. The staff is also a pleasure to be around and spend as much time as you need picking out the right glasses and going over insurance, etc. The service is second to none. more

I love the doctor and the staff here. I have never had such great glasses. The staff takes the time to find the right frame to fit and the right lenses for my needs. Dr. Cothran spent time with me and made some great recommendations during my exam. Every year, I see the same faces and get the same great service. I have been wearing glasses since I was 5 years old - over 50 -- and have never had such a conplete exam by the Doctor and assisted by denise ]]]]in choosing my frmes and lenses. These have to be the best glasses I have ever had. I put them on and was ab le to see everything. Cuddoes for Denise and the Doctor. I am going to make my son go here and he lives 25 miles away. Wow, I'm really surprised to read a few of these reviews. I have been a patient at Viewpoint Vision for almost 5 years and have had only good experiences. I, too, initially found the office through my (very cheap) insurance company but checked it out on Angie's List and saw rave reviews there. The staff is helpful without being pushy, Dr. Cothran is professional and courteous and I love the large selection of eyewear. I have referred Viewpoint Vision to several of my friends (and their children) and they have all been very happy with the recommendation. more

Clean modern office and nice selection of expensive frames does not constitute great place to have your glasses ordered. They will change your order on lenses and AR coating without permission, charge you for the original and lie to you in your face about it. Had lenses tested by another office to find out that this place does not give a hoot what you want! They push what they want! Did not apply any AR coating at all, did not test the lenses from the lab, but charged for premium AR! Would not recommend this place. more

I visited this office because it was listed on my insurance provider's website as one of the optometrists that accepts my insurance (Davis Vision). Unfortunately, my experience was not a very pleasant one. The equipment used for the exam was antiquated and did not include the more recent retina exam or specular microscopy. Dr. Cothran seemed to think I was lying to him when I told him that I had difficulty focusing with the trial contact lens he asked me to try on. It was a lower prescription than what I had been previously wearing, but finally agree to change the prescription. At checkout, I was being overcharged $88 because of what the staff claimed to be a ""premium"" fitting. I had them call the insurance and got it sorted out and only paid the $20 co-pay that my insurance required. Needless to say, I won't be going back to this place. The doctor and staff seem more interested in selling me overpriced glasses and contacts than in the well being of my vision. There are much better optometrists out there. Next year I am going back to my previous doctor (who was excellent by the way) even though he is out of network. more

This was a new eye doctor for our family so we were unaware of the extra charges when we went to have an exam. My husband went in to get a perscription for new contacts and when he called the day before the only charges were to be our copay. As he was checking out AFTER his appointment they gave him a bill for over $200 claiming that this included his ""fitting fee."" Having had contacts for years we have NEVER paid this much for an exam. Be aware of what VIEWPOINT VISION is thinking about charging you for BEFORE the exam. Very shady business. more
