I don't give any credence to the reviewer that slammed Dr. David Burnett. Although he has sadly retired, I took all of my dogs and cats to Valley for the past 40 years. That included my dogs, Sam, Spike, Libby, Rosie, Daisy and Zuzu, and my cats Bilbo, Crystal, Shadow, Mario, Luigi, Lola, Poppy and Snickers. All my precious babies! Dr. Dave was totally wonderful and skilled and caring. When people really cared he worked with them. I do believe the person who complained was probably trying to get something for nothing. But don't say anything bad about Dave. I won't believe it. more

The Best Vet in CT 4/24/2012

Listen, if you are out to find some cheap vaccines and discount spay/neuters, look elsewhere. VCA is pricey. But, I would not trust anyone else with any problems with my pets. From long term illness to severe injury, my pets have been through it all. VCA is always welcoming and respectful and incredibly compassionate. They even sent me a card when my dog passed away. I especially recommend Dr. Mac, he'll sit on the floor and rub my dog's belly while explaining all the different options for his various health issues. I never leave feeling like they pushed procedures or extra costs on me. It's always left up to me to decide what route to take. And Heidi at the front desk always has a smile on her face! more

Great Place to go with your pets-VCA Valley Animal Hospital 10/15/2011

I was shocked when I read the review about how terrible and rude Dr. Burnett was. I have been going to VCA Valley for 15 yrs and all of the doctors that have worked there have seen my pets at one time or another. I have always had the upmost care and concern for my pets. They always discussed the what the charges would be, their recommendatiions and options for treatment. They never forced me to do anything that I could not finanically afford and were always willing to find a way to treat my pets economically. When it has come time to say goodbye to one of my pets I have had the doctor sit there with me and help me through the process with tears in his or her eyes. So please don't take that other review to heart. I think it was someone who was trying to get away with not paying for anything-they are always willing to give you a treatment plan with costs on it so you can decide what you want done. They are the best and the staff is so caring, friendly , professional -almost like family. If there is an emergency with one of my pets they are seen immediately. more

Great Hospital, doctors and staff 10/15/2011

I read that terrible review that someone wrote and was so shocked. I am not sure where that person is coming from. I have been going to VCA Valley for 15 years and have seen all the doctors there including Dr. Burnett. All of them have been very professional, caring, and personal with all my pets. I have never had a problem getting an appointment and if I had an emergency I was seen right away. The staff is always friendly, compassionate almost like family. I enjoy bringing my pets there knowing that they are getting the best care available. I hope that if you are reading this you will not pay attention to the other review. The staff and doctors are always willing to discuss charges and what they recommend for treatment and allow the client to decide what they would like done and can afford to do. more

Rude, Liars, Charge for services not given! 8/22/2011

Horrible place! Burnett was very rough with my kitten, and clipped her nails so short they all bled. He told me her vacination was included in the price, and then accussed me of stealing services when his staff attempted to charge me for the included vaccination. He slammed his paperwork on the counter and said "I dont know who you think you are, trying to get free services here" He was horrible, rude, and so unprofessional. Please please please never taken any of your pets to see him. This is VCA Valley Vet in South Windsor Connecticut. I was forced to give him at least a 1 star rating, when he deserved none! I have several family/friends who have had similar experiences with him and his office staff, where they charge for services they did not do. They charged for a dental exam for my moms cat, and the doctor couldnt even get the cat to open its mouth, yet he billed her for a full dental exam he did not actually do. more

Good Visit 2/16/2009

Great caring staff. Price maybe a little higher but when you see what you get compared to other hospitals in the area you realize it is well worth it. Don't think because it is such a large hospital with 6 doctors and a big staff that they do not treat each case very personally. I have watched while waiting for my appointment people walk with emergencies with no appt and are immediately taken care of no questions ask. Have a lot of confidence it all the doctors there. more

Waaay Overpriced! 2/14/2008

Unless you're willing to receive false, understated estimates and be insanely overcharged for routine procedures, do NOT make the mistake of choosing VCA Animal Hospital in South Windsor. A 'discounted' dental cleaning and follow up visit will set you back $1000. What other Vets manage to accomplish for $200 - $300 without a discount, is several times that amount at VCA Valley Vet. Is it ineptness, greed or both? Who cares - neither one is acceptable. Why risk the outcome for you or your pet? Wish I had known! more
