I took my dachshund, Snickers, in for teeth cleaning & dental work on July 12th. Snickers had to have three teeth extracted which required anesthesia. I picked Snickers up that same afternoon. By Saturday morning, Snickers was no longer able to move her front legs. I took her back to the vets at NPAH for a check up. They were not sure, but thought it might be a nerve or disc problem. Snickers was given a steroid to help reduce inflammation. By Monday, there was no change. Snickers could still not walk. I was referred to the Animal Surgery Center in Carrollton. I took Snickers over and after they ran a cat scan, they were able to determine that Snickers had suffered a ruptured disc. They could not say when the injury occurred. What I do know is I took Snickers in for a dental work on July 12th and by July 14th, after the treatment, Snickers could no longer walk.
