We have taken our pet here for over 12 years. Courtney is the groomer we love and always go to. Grunewald is truly amazing. She takes her time thoroughly explaining any issues ...

BEWARE!! 9/3/2014

I took our Yorkie puppy in to be shaved. He was left with what appeared to be painful razor burns (bare skin) under his anus, behind his left ear and on top of his little ear. And even worse, the groomer even cut his beautiful long eyelashes shorter!! I wrote a letter to each of the vets there, to let them know what had happened and how upset we were. I then hand delivered the letters to their office. I never received a response from any of them including the owner. I can only imagined the torture our puppy went through, needless to say, we will never use them ever again. more

Rude Receptionist! Look out...! 11/11/2010

This morning, I took my girlfriend's dog and my dog (for the first time) to North Plano Animal Hospital for grooming. She has been taking her dog here for a couple years without incident. I however am seeking a new vet from the one I had up until a couple months ago. I walked in with both dog's for drop off and was greeted by the most rude receptionist I have encountered in a while, Nicole. Again I have never been here before and was looking to find a new vet home for my dog. I was questioned about my dog's records and explained he was there for a bath and groom. Not any exams, etc. But I informed her he is current on all shots, etc. His rabies tag is on his collar as well. I gave her the name and number of my old vet to contact if needed which she did as I stood there holding 2 anxious dogs. Oh, all the while trying to fill out an info sheet she needed. I was flanked by 2 other girls who worked there who were just standing and staring at me. I was able to hand off the leash for my dog more

Plano vet 7/1/2010

Great animal hospital. All the doctors are very friendly and so is the staff. The are very busy and don't have as much time to treat each pet like they are their own but they still provide a great service and really do love animals which is something I look for in a Vet more

North Plano Animal Hospital is a life saver! Literally!! 7/1/2009

We were recently struggling with our oldest"daughter", Dixie. She is twelve. We went and visited with Dr. Grunewald. She examined our Dixie and we discussed the changes that we had been noticing. Dr Grunewald said that she believed Dixie was showing signs of "cognitive dysfunction". She prescribed a medication and new food that could help her brain functions. Now, a month and a half later, she is back to her old self! We are so grateful for the care that she received. more

Wonderful and Caring 4/27/2009

North Plano Animal Hospital is a caring place to take your animals. We have taken our dogs there for years. When we made the decision to put our dog to sleep after 13 years, they were very comforting and helpful in making sure everything was handled carefully. They were caring to our emotions. The office was clean and the staff is friendly. more

'Behind the Scenes' Look 1/26/2009

I am a Clinical Rotations II student at Plano Senior High School; I am a graduating senior of 2009. I chose North Plano Animal Hospital as one of my sites, just thinking it'd be good to expand my horizons in the health care/medical field. When I stepped in my first day, I was instantly greeted by friendly receptionists and taken under the wing of the kennel staff and doctors. Everyone was so kind and friendly! I felt so comfortable and confident to be around all the people and to ask questions. Their work is professional and the way they treat the animals is as if the animals were their very own. :) I do not think it's accurate to rate an animal hospital by the prices or by bad experiences. Just because an owner has a loss of a loved pet at a certain animal hospital, it does not mean the animal hospital is low quality and undependable. Things just happen sometimes. more

Top shelf prices with bargain basement care 12/31/2008

The pluses: the techs are super.\r The minuses: I took in a perfectly healthy 7 year old male for dental work. (I have rescued greyhounds and they often are adopted with dental issues) $1,200 and 3 hours later he was dead. And although, when I picked him up, I kept saying he didn't look well to me, the tech and office manager who had to pick him up to put him in my vehicle insisted it was just anesthesia that left him groggy. I felt they just wanted to close for the day and within an hour I was racing to the ER and 2 hours later he expired. \r My second dog had been previously diagnosed with several tick born diseases she acquired from the track. Later I took her in for sudden onset lameness. First I was told she had an "immature corn" and was charged several hundred dollars for that. At that time I expressed concern it was her tick diseases flaring up. A week later I took her in again and several hundred dollars later and x-rays I was told she had arthritis NOT corns. I AGAIN more

Recently lost a wonderful family pet 5/27/2008

I had written a review last July when my cat, Raven took ill with kidney disease. With their assistance, we were able to maintain her quality of life but sadly, we had to make that difficult decision and Raven was put to rest on March 15th, 2008, 10 days after her 15th birthday. The staff was warm, caring and very gentle with her and it gave my husband and I a great deal of comfort to know that we were able to control Raven's passing at North Plano Animal Hospital. The last people she saw, were those who loved and cared for her and she was able to go in total peace. If you chose to complain about the cost of your animal's health, then think twice about owning a pet. Everything is on the rise, including veterinary costs... to us, it is worth it because we love them dearly... we have other animals and we will continue to take them to this clinic because we are confident that they will provide them with the best medical care. more

North Plano Animal Hospital 12/2/2007

North Plano Animal Hospital has top notch veterinarians who care about your pet's health. They accurately diagnose your pet, or tell you your options and what is happening. They have saved my dog's life twice for sure, and have been able to identify health problems and keep her healthy and happy in her old age. When you have a limited budget, they give you choices and help you make the best decision for you and your pet. I would recommend them strongly. more

I take all my animals to this clinic 7/26/2007

From the time I call the clinic to get an appointment through the entire examination process, the staff of this clinic never fails to give my pets the very best care. They truly take an interest in your animal's health and spend a lot of time talking you through what needs to be done. My 14-year-old cat, Raven is an ongoing patient due to the discovery that she had kidney disease and they are wonderful and very caring and continue to come up with treatment plans that allow my preious friend to remain a member of my family. \r \r I have other animals that I also take there and they never fail to provide them with the best care. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a top notch animal clinic. more

Dental treatment ended up costing in excess of $3,000 7/19/2007

I took my dachshund, Snickers, in for teeth cleaning & dental work on July 12th. Snickers had to have three teeth extracted which required anesthesia. I picked Snickers up that same afternoon. By Saturday morning, Snickers was no longer able to move her front legs. I took her back to the vets at NPAH for a check up. They were not sure, but thought it might be a nerve or disc problem. Snickers was given a steroid to help reduce inflammation. By Monday, there was no change. Snickers could still not walk. I was referred to the Animal Surgery Center in Carrollton. I took Snickers over and after they ran a cat scan, they were able to determine that Snickers had suffered a ruptured disc. They could not say when the injury occurred. What I do know is I took Snickers in for a dental work on July 12th and by July 14th, after the treatment, Snickers could no longer walk. Did the injury occur during the dental treatment, you will have to be the judge on that. But, I have made the decision that I more

They are THE BEST 4/26/2007

I went to NPAH on the recommendation of a friend when I learned my golden retriever had cancer. Dr. Andrea Komkov was great ... and the knowledge & experience she has in the cancer department never ceased to amaze me. My Casey had to be put down a couple of weeks ago but I had him for an additional 10 months...pain free.. because of Dr. K. The entire staff is top-notch!!I'll never go anywhere else as long as I live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. more
