Highly Recommend D-GAE Hospital 12/12/2010

I am visiting my Mom and while we were out enjoying a play my labradoodle consumed 9 oz. of dark chocolate! I called D-GAE Hospital and they couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We rushed the dog over since the amount she consumed was potentially lethal. The staff and the vet kept us well informed, were courteous and very kind. The vet called me afterwards to check up on Tully and see how she was doing. I am so glad to know there is an emergency vet so close; especially the caliber of D-GAE Hospital. more

The worst place ever! 8/24/2010

This 'hospital' is a joke. I took my dog in on a Sunday who was seriously ill and was left waiting in the lobby for over half an hour. We were finally put in a room for another 45 minutes and still no one saw us. When I went to the front desk (for the 3rd time) to ask when a doctor would see us, the receptionist was put out that we bothered her as she was shopping a Pottery Barn or other gift catalog. They have no idea of urgency for the pet or the owner. Our vet even warned us that they are "short-staffed" and "not the best but they're open on weekends". I live nearby but would NEVER risk my pet's health again at a poorly staffed and unprofessional facility. \r \r After being ignored and receiving no treatment, we took her to Georgia Veterinary Specialists on Abernathy who saw her immediately and treated her so she is with us today and doing well. GVS is a beautiful facility, with a caring staff, state of the art treatments, reasonable prices and great followup. This is the only place I more

BEWARE EXPENSIVE 4/22/2010

The staff is very friendly and professional. My only complaint is this place is Extremely Expensive. Do not believe that their prices are the same as your vet. THAT IS NOT TRUE! Trust me. There is a $125 fee for your pet to be seen on top of the care they give and supplies. My dog's eye popped out a little (not hanging, just bulged) and I gently pushed it back in and kept it lubricated with saline solution (did everything right). The only thing they did was stitch the eye close with two stitches. Desperate and eager for emergency care on a Saturday, they were able to talk me into a "surgery" (2 stitches) that ended up costing me $700. Again, all they did was put two stitches in his eye, gave me an elizabethan collar, and a 5ML bottle of oral antibiotic. Took him to the vet for a follow-up and he told me that he would have charged me $150 total for everything. Unfortunately he was not open on the weekend. Vet was great but was horrified by threat of euthanasia 9/4/2009

When my blind/neurologically challenged Irish Setter got out, someone else found her before I did and assuming she was hurt (which she wasn't) kindly took her to this Clinic. Unfortunately my dog and pulled off her collar with tags and it was only by the chip that they were able to contact me. I was pleased by the care and knowledge of the veterinarian but was horrified when I was told that, if they had not been able to reach me by the close of that day they would have euthanized my dog. At first I thought I had mis-understood but they repeated this several times - if they had not been able to reach me, they would have euthanized my dog. Other than being blind and having gait problems, the dog was 3 years old and in perfect health. more

THESE PEOPLE ARE MARVELOUS 9/26/2008

I have needed them several times for after-hours pet emergencies and each and every time the doctors and staff have been gracious, caring and helpful. I can't say enough good things about the way they have taken care of my pets. Their quality of care is excellent - both animal and owner are treated with respect and concern. more

What a relief to know they are there 1/7/2008

We had occasion to bring our 7-month old golden puppy to this clinic on Sunday morning -- to which we were referred by our regular vet's voicemail. She had eaten an object (?) and was in distress of all sorts. She was treated by a wonderful vet with 8 years of experience at this clinic (lots of emergencies!) -- and we felt 100% comfortable and confident leaving our pup to her care. They provided initial tests and treatment very quickly, treated and monitored her throughout the day, and kept us posted. I was also glad to be invited back to the general work area to see where our dog was resting (a spacious, very clean treatment area). Detailed estimate was provided (including what if's). When she was better and we came to take her home, we got all her xrays, paperwork, and detailed written instructions on meds etc... Info also faxed to her regular vet. I definitely recommend them if you have a pet emergency. more

Excellent after hours/emergency care! 12/21/2007

I've used this clinic twice and been very happy with the service. \r The first time, several years ago, I had to have my cat put to sleep; they handled it very well and with great empathy. The second was recently when our puppy was bitten by a snake. Our local vet was closing and referred us to them; they provided terrific care all night long and the vet checked in with us to let us know how he was doing. They're also very careful to let you know exactly how much each procedure or medication is going to cost so that you're not surprised when you arrive to pay the bill. more

Best Emergency Care Ever 1/19/2007

My 9 month old puppy was about to die because of the toys he had chewed and eaten. The docotors here performed emergency surgery on him and saved him. The follow up care (after our regular vet did little while he was in their care) for him was great. They saved his life and because of them I have the best dog I have ever had. They are like the Grady Trauma Unit for animals. more

this business is in a real great location and the prices are about the same as other vet dr bills they have always had a clean place and the staff is very friendly the only problem I have is that they don't always have a bird dr there so this is a real problem if my vet is closed cause I have to go way out of my way to another vet hospital that will take my birds more
