This is the worst place to take your pet. Today, March 15 2015, we called their number for an emergency situation. Our dog was not moving and was in critical condition. We called begging for them to see us without an appointment. The lady on the line told us that the doctor was leaving in three minutes and that they were closing down. We begged for them to let us bring her in and to stop the doctor from leaving...She told us to go to Ontario. Are you kidding? That is way past Corona! In the five minutes it would have taken us to bring her to the Corona vet, we had to spend 30 minutes finding a separate vet elsewhere! If our dog dies, we are holding them personally responsible. They love their money and leaving work than helping an animal and a family in distress. What puts the cherry on the top was that in the background of the phone call my daughter was screaming ""MOM SHES NOT MOVING, TELL THEM TO HELP US. PLEASE HELP MY GIRL. SHES NOT MOVING."" and i replied ""is she dead?"" and they had no comment, they just told us to go somewhere else. For that, we do not forgive them. Her life was meaningless to them. HORRIBLE SERVICE, VERY EXPENSIVE, NO RESULTS - Our dog looked very very sick. We decided to take him to the VCA AAH to get a blood test. The vet examined our dog, decided that there are no significant symptoms to diagnose illness and talked us into taking an x-ray. After reading an x-ray there was no conclusion, so the vet decided to prescribe pain medication, and charged us for the visit $300+, then told us to come back if things don't get better. After a few days and our dog still feeling under the weather, my husband took him back. This time the vet decided to do a blood test and told us that we should await a phone call with the results. The second visit cost us $250+. Two days later and no phone call, my husband called them and found out that the blood test did not provide any additional insight on the dogs illness. A week later and almost $600 lighter, we still don't know what's happening with our poor dog. We were talked into unnecessary tests and we payed for nothing. If you want to get help from knowledgeble staff and true medical advice, please do yourself and your pet a favor, and go to a different clinic. more

Bad final moments for my Kitty at VCA 9/30/2014

$161 to euthanize my pretty white little arthritic kitty. Unlike many vets they took her away and wrestled her paw to put in a shunt. She came back hissing at them. 5 pounds and 25 years old. I wouldn't do it again. I read some sites that say vets inject barbiturate and the cats slowly goes to sleep and passes on. Not here. They injected the two drugs seconds apart and she stiffened after the first and jerked after the second. It isn't a good system. They took two hours even though I had called just before to make sure they were running on time. She was already stressed and having to wait that long and then have some stranger take her and force a shunt into her arm and bandage her so they made sure not to miss in my presence -- I made a mistake here. Not just the money for a few minutes of work, but what I consider an unnecessary shunt not in my sight or hearing. Poor thing couldn't even defend herself -- I should have done something else or had a vet who injects with me present. Then more

My fiancé noticed swelling on our basset hound's back leg on Saturday night. Thinking he may have gotten stung or bitten, we gave him a Benadryl and kept an eye on it. When it hadn't gone down by Sunday morning, we decided to take him in to the vet. Since our normal vet isn't open on Sundays, we took him in to Aacacia's Norco location.\r \r At the time, we decided to include a dental – as the required blood work and sedation for a dental (which we were planning on doing in the near future, anyway) were the same as that which would be required to tend to the swollen foot (doing them together would prevent him from needing to be sedated on two different occasions). Over $550 dollars later, we get our dog back and were told that the swelling was the result of an abscess that had to be flushed. Cause unknown. No foreign object detected. They care about your MONEY!!! NOT YOUR PET!!! My friends cat was injured. She had 97 Dollars .. Not enough for them!! She left crying to sit in the car with her dying cat.. If you go to Aacacia you better have money in the bank! If you need a vet that cares go to Centenial animal hospital in Corona ...I took in a stray that was in need of surgery. The staff at Centenial animal Hospital went out of their way to find a rescue group that provided the surgery for the dog... Now thats real commitment to the welfare of animals !! ...Sometimes Aacacia its not about the money!!! more

We've only had one experience at Aacacia, but they were amazing. Sadly, we visited them on an emergency basis after one of our dogs passed away. The staff here helped arrange cremation and were incredibly compassionate with us after we took our girl in. They sent us a condolence card, as well. Their fees were extremely fair, and the staff was just wonderful. We would not hesitate to bring our pets here for anything. more

I have never been to this hospital. I'm just looking for a place to bring my cats and puppy. But I just had to butt in here, because I LOATHE dishonesty in reviews. If you check the dates that nearly ALL the negative reviews were written on, they were all on the same day, July 11, 2010. You really think a ton of unhappy customers ALL got together on one day to pan this place? No chance. These reviews are obviously lies.\r \r A word of warning to the workers at this hospital though, don't be tempted to do the same by leaving false positive reviews. I really agree with and appreciate those of you who are posting and admitting you work there and addressing the negative reviews, but encourage your customers to leave the actual stories of their experiences. Your honesty will lend you credibility.\r \r Anyway, we'll see if I choose to go your route or not. What's certain is that if I find out which of your competitors is leaving those negative reviews, I will NEVER go to them. \r \r Peace! more

I have 3 dogs and a cat and I wouldn't think of sending them anywhere else!\r They are so professional here and give my babies the best care. Not only that, they are open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. I had my dog get hit by a car at 11:00 at night. I didn't have to drive around looking for a all night hospital, they took him right in and saved his life. They had a doctor right there at midnight. I am 100% satisfied with this place. \r I didn't find them overpriced either compared to the last place I brought my dogs! more

after hearing all of your comments i sit and wonder... are you thinking with your $5 a month budget of old roy dog food for your pet or are you thinking with an actual knowledge of veterinary medicine and their charges? i really think that the people who are complaining about charges are complaining for no reason. i worked there for almost 3 yrs and i did most of the billing and discharging as a receptionist. the charges that they put on the bill are there for a reason. if your pet goes in for seizures expect to pay atleast $2000 anywhere you go. there are overnight care charges, emergency medication charges, bloodwork, etc and you still may not know why your pet had the seizure. if you go in to euthanize your pet they MUST CHARGE FOR PRIVATE CREMATION! if the company they use (only cremation) charges them $120 to cremate pets they must pass it to you. coming in at 2am DOES COST MORE than if you came in at 10am. just because you dont see anyone in the lobby doesnt mean that 2 emergenci more

When animals get sick, we have to expect to fork over money. We've taken 4 of our pets here and each time they have been treated great and saved. One of our cats was in their "ICU" for 4 days, and in the end it was a little under $2000. They saved his life so it was worth it. We called around to several specialty hospitals to get price quotes for his condition after our primary vet had diagnosed him. Other hospitals were quoting us $3400 and up! So, from Los Angeles, we drove all the way to Corona to Acacia and they did their magic and saved our boy. They're surgeon also saved my brothers dog from having his leg amputated..total cost of surgery $1700..my brother was being charged $2500 in other places and they couldn't guarantee that the dog's leg would be saved. Don't go to 24 hour hospitals if it's not absolutely urgent or you have money to throw around because it's going to cost you money. well, i've never been here. however, if it's primarilly an emergency vet than expect a long wait and to spend a lot of money. i've been to a few after hours vets and waited all night and spent thousands of dollars. Also, some people are stating that this place is in it just for the money. Yes they are there to help you with your pet, but it is still a business and YES they do need to make money in order to pay the staff/vet and remain open so that they can take care of our pets after hours. if you own pets expect to spend a lot of money. PERIOD! more

i worked in a veterinary office in huntington park ca, i am also a vet technologist i took my dog to vca in corona. \r 1. any vet you go to you must pay before services are given.\r 2. animals cannot speak to you, so when you go to get an animal treated and the problem does not go away dont get angry it could be a severe proble. \r 3. appointments at a human dr. office are the same as for animals just because your there at 10pm does not mean you will see the dr at 10 pm.4\r 4. some clients that bring in there dog are very picky and ask alot of questions thats why some people wait awhile.\r 5. alot of people think they know about animals, and what they have just because you googled the symptoms does not make you a dr.\r 6. just like people animals are very expensive its called supply and demand its what makes the world go round, i always say if you cannot afford an animal do not get one.\r i use to be the same way oh this dr cheated me work at a place and see its not easy taking peoples money more

We have found Aacacia Animal Hospital to be quite competent in their caring for our dog. It's a 24 hour hospital, and we've had to ring the doorbell at 4am before, and they were extremely kind and hospitable in that situation as well. Don't be afraid to ask questions, or to have the doctor or tech to explain something a second time. You should do that even with your own health practitioner, why not the one who cares for your pet?\r \r Vets are expensive, and the better the place, usually the better the care and the more they charge. I'd much rather take my dog to Aacacia then some hole in the wall, dirty place. Yes, it's hard to swallow an unexpected $600 bill, but medical charges are crazy all over, I don't expect my vet to be cut-rate just because they're caring for my dog.\r \r All that having been said, I HAVE witnessed ONE front counter clerk who I overheard being exceptionally rude to a customer on the phone. Saved our Dog's Life at Reasonable Price 7/27/2010

Our dog had a very severe allergic reaction one night, we had to take her in at 4 AM. She was wheezing and completely swollen face. We rushed her down there, and the Vet was quick, thorough and told us a safe dose of benadryl we could give at home. She offered to keep her overnight and watch her for 60$. The two shots to stop the reaction were 140$. Honestly, that is pretty cheap for having 24 hour emergency care. If you can't afford that, you can't afford a pet. more

They are a great animal hospital!! beware some of the reveiws are written by workers at other animal hospitals who are trying to down their competition. I did ROP work for aacacia and they have a great facility very clean and professional. They are an emergency hospital and are expected to cost more because of the services they provide. BTW never take your dog to corona animal hospital they do unlawful practices and inhumane treatments I've seen first hand! more

I took our family chihuahua in for a seizure and was asked immediatey for a $400 deposit. I immediately forked out 4 $100 bllls so they could administer treatment.With-in 15 minutes, I was presented with a ESTIMATE on what it would cost to administer care for our family pet for the next 24 hours. I was floored when I learned the estmate "may range" from $1240-$1550 and included 18-20 different charges and must be paid in advance or they would not treat our beloved pet. We had no idea why our dog had gone into seizure and we were getting no answers from the Vet. Our other dog was missing and we thought they might have eaten rat poison but had no evidence or comfirnation, With my two daughters by my side, we agrued and toiled with this difficult decision to euthanize Lilly.
