This place is THE best! 8/6/2010

This place is the best. Functional archival quality in those hard to find components. As for all those whiners complaining about the service....Ever been to AJAX dismantlers for a water pump, this is the same thing except for computers so if you want service try CompUsa. Just keep driving around, you'll find one; eventually. more

One of the only few places... 7/15/2010

Quaint location, one of the only places to go to before calling the geek squad and spending a lot of money. more

TOTAL SCAM! 6/28/2010

If you are seriously thinking about quality and not quantity --DO NOT GO HERE! They sell used Apple Power Adapters for $60 and in less than a month they are completely useless! I bought mine about three weeks ago thinking I was getting a deal. A few weeks later and my macbook isn't charging anymore! The used power adaptor is definitely of a cheaper quality and although they claim to have a six month warranty, they don't cover "physical damage." WHAT?! They repair really old used apple power adapters with cheap materials and sell them for almost the same price as from the Apple Store. THIS PLACE IS A FRAUD! Don't buy your apple power adapters here! Check out amazon.com first! more

From Matthew in San Francisco 10/28/2009

I'm surprised at all the negativity from the previous reviews. These guys were great ! I've bought three different computer systems from them over the years and they've always been helpful. I travel all the way from SF just to buy from them. In fact, I'm going back again this week to get a new laptop. more

It was just a "FURBALL"!!!! 11/22/2008

Their Diagnostic team Bites! My Dell up and quit,I couldn't figure it out, so I thought I'd take it to them so they could tell me what's wrong. Wouldn't you know it,it was my motherboard! Of course, it costs an arm and two legs! I took my laptop home, figured I'd part it out....I FOUND THE LARGEST CLUMP OF DUST STUCK TO FAN! I thought it was a small dead animal? You think their "TECH" would have seen it when he checked my motherboard, Right?\r \r My name is Ingrid P. and I approve of this message. more

What they all said 4/20/2007

Having agreed about their high prices, I'm in a emergency and they have what I need. The only other option was going to SanJo to save a few bucks. Capitalism at its finest. more

OK for certain purposes 8/2/2006

I agree with the other two reviews, one should be careful going in here because some of the prices are high for used stuff. However, I went in here looking for a particular kind of power cord that I was having trouble finding elsewhere, and they happened to have it, so I was really happy, and I don't think the price was unreasonable. It's good for that kind of thing. I also like the idea of buying things used rather than buying more new stuff and letting the old stuff go into landfills. So even if the discount isn't great, you're doing a good deed buy buying used stuff! more

How does this place stay in business? 11/17/2005

If everyone in Berkeley knew just a little bit about computers this place would go out of business. The prices they charge for some of the oldest computers and parts you'll ever find are exorbitant. I would have to recommend buying a new eMachine system over the old, used computeres they sell. They also offer dial-up service but that is also priced very expensively. So, if you're looking to save money on computer parts and don't want computers of ages ago, do yourself a favor and avoid this place and just hit up radio shack a few blocks away. PROS: employees seem somewhat knowledgeable about computers CONS: over priced old computer stuff more

Terrible. Inside and out. 11/9/2005

Going into this place, you will find a lot of antiquated and obsolete computer equipment commanding EXTREMELY high prices. There is nothing spectacular about this place at all. Most of what can be found here can be found on eBay for SIGNIFICANTLY less than they sell it for at this store. The inside of this place reminds one of an unfinished factory and the outside of this place reminds one of a sloppy brick shack. I find it amusing that everything is overpriced here, and there is nothing that one would not be able to find at a major computer store for much less. This place preys on emergency computer needs from nearby students. There is nothing much in the way of good to say about this store. Stay away at all costs. PROS: None CONS: Extremely expensive, ugly, inventory more
