I have never written a review before, but after my great experiences here, I felt I needed to let spa enthusiasts know how awesome this place is! Urban Retreat REALLY is the best spa in the Valley. The massages and facials I have received are incredible, and I 'm really appreciative of how everyone always caters to me. They have better services than most spas and at lower prices too! I'm hooked on the deep tissue massage Robert gives and the various facials Gigi offers, but trust me..... EVERYONE there is great!!!! Thanks Urban Retreat!!! more

what else there to say? - good massage should be relaxing, warm and comfy - and its sure was!!, left feeling so fly and relaxed - slept like a child too. Visited on weekends night - they open till 9 on Sunday - rarely anyone open at that time - amazing to find what you want in late night in late NOHO district. Came together with my wife - both working in really stressful environment - just cant see myself without professional massage every week. Thank you Robert. more

After reading the positive reviews on this spa I had to try it for myself. I booked a facial and massage and let me tell you it was one of the best spa experiences I have ever had! From the moment I walked into this place I had a good vibe... it smelled great, was extremely clean and they had very upscale products on display for sale and friendly people greeted me. A very nice lady took me to the changing area and urged me to use the sauna if I would like, before or after my treatment. Olivia, the massage therapist assigned to me, greeted me in the waiting area and was very sweet. Olivia gave me one of the best massages I have ever had and she even gave an incredible scalp massage too! Olivia had a very peaceful energy which encouraged me to actually fall asleep! At this point I could not imagine things could get any better but they did... After my massage was through I was greeted by Elena, the facialist assigned to work on me. Elena had absolutely flawless, gorgeous skin and I felt so lucky she was going to work on my face! Elena gave me the best and most comprehensive facial I have ever had! She knows so much about skincare and seems passionate about making your skin absolutely beautiful and healthy. My skin was just glowing after my facial and has never looked better!!! Once my treatments were completed I was served the best cup of green tea with a delicious cookie! I ran into some other clients and we compared notes and they were just as happy as I with the entire experience! If you're looking for an amazing, relaxing, friendly, and very clean spa experience look no further. Urban Retreat is the best! I have had a facial and massage and they were both amazing. I like deep body work and I got exactly what I needed. Robert was strong enough for my knots. I just went there as a Mother's Day gift my boyfriend gave me, and I got a deep tissue massage. It was exactly 60 min session. It was the best massage I've ever had. I felt feeling totally refreshed and relaxed after sauna. Very nice and professional staff. This place is awesome. more

My son bought me a gift certificate to the spa. I was very satisfied with my massage and Facial with Elena. It was truly a wonderful experience. She has a very loving touch that instantly made me relax. Before massage i spent some time in their dry sauna. My massage was great. The staff were lovely and welcoming. My husband purchased a hot stone massage for me for my Birthday December 29th, 2007 and I was burned by the massage therapist. I ended up spending my birthday in the ER to treat my second degree burns. During communication with massage therapist no refund was offered or given. Have been contacted anew about the review and he was sincerly apologetic. I would have loved to give a positive review given the calm atmosphere and friendly staff, but the lack of a refund symes this effort. My husband paid for me to be burned and ruin my birthday plans. I hope full financial retribution is received so I might give a better review. I can say I appreciated Calvin calling to apologize and am hopeful he will arrange full repayment in earnest. Calvin had massage for me many many times. I really surprised and don't understand that someone have tried to disgrace and made big bad story about Calvin. I heard about this spa though a friend who always has a perfect pedicure.I booked for foot treatment. The minute you walk in the door, you feel the warmth energy and I instantly relaxed. The staff were so friendly and very professional. The foot treatment I received was on the best far I have had. The foot massage on the end was just as good. I have visited Urban Retreat North Hollywood several times, but I decided to bring some girlfriends for a spa-day and discovered recently that the spa (recently in the past 6 months) was under new Management. I was shocked at how, the staff was so much warmer and professional, the environment used to be so-so , but WOW now it is VERY CLEAN, and one of my girlfriends had a facial, she was impressed with the attention to detail and cleanliness which she says was even better than her regular aesthetician at Burke, where she normally goes....but not anymore! All of us found Urban Retreat to be, simply a comfortable place to be in. This is the most important thing to me. The massage therapist I had, Lynn definitely has healing hands... I highly recommend this place. Our whole spa-day experience for me and my friends was outstanding. We also fell in love with this spa! And the prices are unreal for the high quality of service. This was the greatest place for me. I was able to unwind and relax in their new sauna.The staff is so warm and real with everyone it makes you feel as if you feel as if you were in home. I have had the best experience at this spa. I saw Stacey and she did such a good job. She was very professional and very helpful. She helped with all the tension in my back and also gave me useful tips on how to help in between my sessions with her. I would definately recommend her and this spa. more

I discovered this place when I went to the Mail Box They aren't huge, but they have nice and Family warm atmosphere. The therapist Carlos was amazing. It was Real deep tissue. Grate prices. Excellent massage. Pros: Caring front desk people, clean, Sauna, free parking. more

I visited the Urban Retreat Spa for my birthday. My friends took me out of the office for a suprise visit to the spa. It was the most relaxing trip I have ever had. For once, I let go of my worries and didn't care about the deadlines at work, endless e-mails from my blackberry, conference calls and even fell asleep during my facial. Elena was wonderful and worked magic on my skin. I woke up feeling rested and my skin felt so soft I could only say WOW. I felt like a new woman. My skin felt and looked so great that I am still geting compliments abut my looks, almost a month after Elena's facial. I had read the service in various publications & some from my friends Thirkey... but having tried a lot of the best massage therapist over the years. Finally I 've found the " best one" in here. I visited Urban Retreat North Hollywood several times.The whole experience of my visits was outstanding.I absolutely fell in love with this spa! The staff have always provided me with quality service.The reception is friendly and warm. My transformation after their Sudatonic Slimming System left me feeling thrilled with the results-smooth baby skin and loss of inches.I also tried Reflexology Massage which I needed greatly as a part of my rehabilitation after sport injury.I was facsinated by the results,I was able to walk without limping again.The prices are reasonable and affordable.I would recommend Urban Retreat to anyone who needs a spa vacation.Would go back many more times. As an avid facial and spa connoisseur, I have visited countless California spas, most of them rated highly. But I believe I have finally found as aesthetician who is a total gem. She made the experience a delight. My facial and brow appoitment at Urban Retreat Spa was divine. And I attribute the success of this experience to Elena. She was so attentive to what I wanted. Her listening skills made a lot of difference, especially because I am very particular. She gave excellent, well thought out advice, and was very kind and gracious host. She made my eyebrows look georgeuos, exactly how I wanted them. And she checked with me every single minute, so that I would be perfectly happy with them. She has a great eye for contouring and what looks good on different people. And then, the piece de resistance: She did a phenomenal job during the facial and extraction process. She was very detailed and dedicated to understanding my skin's needs. On top of that, she stayed with me through the entire facial, giving me the most awesome scalp, neck and hands massage.
