Urban Colorz Salon

I was referred to Urban Colorz by a friend and got booked with Allie. I brought in some pictures and she helped me decide what she thought would look best with my complexion. This was the first time I had been to a stylist that really took the time to help me decide. I am sooooo happy with the way it turned out. I already made my appointment to go to her again. I was really surprised to see the negative review below when I logged in to write this since my experience couldn't have been more opposite. I really was impressed with the staff and the atmosphere of this salon! more

Complete Disaster! ALI ruined my color…I went in for a partial copper red weave and left with brown and blonde hair with one…YES, ONE blob of neon orangish red in my bangs! I looked like a calico cat! Wanting to cry, I expressed to her the compete contrast of what I showed her a picture of and what she decided to do to my hair…I explained I had company arriving in 3 days and was devastated with the results…I immediately told her that this was not what I asked for and to top it off, she asked me to stop being rude to HER!!! I calmly told her that I was simply expressing my opinion and frustration.... I was told that there was nobody that could help me…everyone was booked. The receptionist and the stylist were both rude. They all went in the back room and left me standing at the front desk for 20 minutes…Finally, the receptionist came out and said…sorry, there is nothing we can do for you! I wish I could post a picture of my before and after…The before was lovely and reddish with varying high and lowlights…the after is horrible brown and blonde that look grayish from a distance.\r I called COLOUR AUTHORITY in Portland and they told me to come in….. the best salon in town! I’ll never stray again.\r The kicker is that I had to call and reschedule my nail appointment because of this sloppy work and Angie, the manicurist immediately said…Urban Colorz, right? I said yes…how did you know. and she said she has had SEVERAL clients that have had a horrible experience with them. NEVER NEVER GO TO THIS CRAPPY SALON!!!\r more

I have been a platnium blonde for many years. Unfortunatly my hair stylist suddenly moved to the coast without warning. So a friend decided to do my hair for me. Neededless to say, it was a total disaster. I was devistated. I imediatly went out & bought a dark brown box color, & put it on my hair. I HATED IT! My hair was destroyed. It was breaking off, & falling out in clumps. Im was crying everyday for a month. I finally decided I needed.to get it fixed. I searched for salons in my area & came across Urban Colors, & sweet Miss Ali Moralez. It blew me away that she could work such fabulous work in the matter of 3 hours. I was SO much happier with my hair when I walked out the door there the other nite! I had tears in my eyes when Ali had finished working her magic & showed me the finished product. Its going to be a long process to repair the damage to my hair. But it has turned a 180 from where it was when I walked through the door for my appointment. I cant thank her enough. Shes a great girl! Im looking forward to my next visit in 6 weeks! THANK YOU AGAIN ALI!!! more

I have been going to see CJ for a while now and I have never left the salon unsatisfied!! The customer service is great there and I always come out looking amazing! CJ is great and always gets it just right. I've been growing my hair out from a very short cut and CJ has made sure that my hair always looks good and I never had to go through the awkward ""growing out"" stage. She does a great job on my color and always makes it just how I asked, if not better. more

You have to go to Urban Colorz. Not only are they super friendly, but their quality is superb. more

I was referred to Dinah at Urban Colorz Salon over a year ago and I will NEVER go anywhere else. I have had so much trouble finding a stylist who can get my color right! I always have to go back and get it fixed....Not anymore. Dinah has got it right every single time! She is amazing! I've never been able to say I like my hair, after each appointment with Dinah I can. All the ladies there seem wonderful! Everyone comes out looking amazing. As a matter of fact, I took my 7 year old daughter to Katy and she was soooo good with her! She was patient and gave my little girl exactly what she wanted! What are you waiting for???!!! If your looking for perfection, Urban Colorz is the place to go! Being in the business myself for 25yrs, I can tell u that having my hair done at Urban Coloz Salon has been the BEST Salon experience I've had so far. The atmospere is amazing. My stylist is Dinah, but all of the stylists are equally as talented. When you walk in, your greeted w/ a rush of enthusiasum, and friendliness. The salon is spotless, and very appealing to the eyes, with local artists art work on display. The music is always nice, and never too loud, and of course, most importantly, the talent is very refreshing, and quite frankly, untou chable. The stylists actually listen to what you want, and they follow through with an amazing result. Please, if you are looking for a Salon, do not hesitate to go to Urban Colorz. You won't be dissappointed! I highly recommend Urban Coloz Salon!!! more

I just moved to Portland a couple of months ago and needed to find a new stylist. A co-worker of mine suggested Dinah at Urban Colorz. I checked out Urban Colorz facebook page and thought I would give it a try. I am so glad I did!!! The place is super cute and the service was great!!! I didn't know exactly what I wanted done so Dinah helped me pick out a cute new cut and great color! A new look for a new beginning! Just what I needed. I would highly recommend asking for Dinah. Saved my vacation!!!! I was getting ready to go on vacation and the stylist I have been going to for a couple months (at a different location) got sick and had to cancel my appointment the day before I left town. My girlfriend who goes to Urban Colorz told me to call and see if I could get in. I was nervous going somewhere new just before vacation, but pictures of bad roots would have been the worst! I called and they were able to book me later that day. The stylist, Dinah, was super nice. I told her exactly what I wanted and she did just that (and the price was great too!) !!! I recently went to Urban Colorz Salon for the first time. The service was amazing! Everyone was very nice, the service was excellent. the salon had a very stylish feel to it! I came in once and saw CJ, i didn't know her before, the receptionist offered me an apt with her and the time was good for me so i took it. She colored and cut my hair. i really liked the cut but the color was not the greatest, anyways i went back to her thinking that this time i will definitely get what i want. When i arrived early to my apt i got to see her previous client and i loved her hair color, it was rich milk chocolate color and i told CJ that i want this specific color like her last client. In respond i got this awful almost black color and when i told her that that's not exactly what i asked for she said that it will lighten up and that she had to go half a shade darker on purpose so it would look great, and if i didn't like it i can come back to fix it. So i went home and i looked scary, and since i was in on suterday and they're closed sunday and monday i called tuesday and spoke with CJ and was told that i need to wait at least one more wk because it's not good for your hair to dye it twice in the row, anyways then by suterday i coun't stand it any more so i called and asked if she could work me in today and she has never called me back. So im going to end up going to somebody else and pay another 70 bucks to fix it. I felt like customer service sucked so i will never come back to this salon and i will tell all my friends and people at work how awful that place is. Pros: warning don't go to CJ more

I heard about rachelle from a friend, so I went to Urban Colorz about a year ago, and a year later, i still drive 40 minutes to come to her. She listens to what i want, and if i dont know what i want, she just works her magic. The prices are not too high, and i always walk out LOVING my new look. I have never had so many people ask me where i get my hair done! Pros: great prices Cons: sometimes have to book your appointment more than a month out more

I had gone to Urban Colorz last year and had never been there before, or been referred by anyone. I needed a 2 color weave (highlights in 2 colors). I usually dyed my hair at home out of the box, but you can't usually get numerous colors and if you do get the box with a base color and highlights, they aren't usually drastic enough. Pros: Knowledgable staff, fun, trendy, urban, atmosphere Cons: You do pay a premium for premium service and quality, but the prices are comperable to any high end salon. more

I am very pleased with my new look! I went in on a Tuesday and booked an appointment for the next day and the 'receptionist' (I think she was another hairdresser actually) hooked me up with CJ. All of the girls there have their own personality and as I spent my day getting my first ever color job done - I noticed that everyone who left - left HAPPY. Everyone was a bit amazed at their new hair cuts and the stylists all there were very proud of their work. A lot of questions such as ""wow, what did you use for her?"" followed by lots of information was normal. It was a great atmosphere and I know I will be going back. I brought in pictures and CJ did an *amazing* job. Everyone at my work LOVES it, I know *I* love it and my husband does too! THANK YOU. Pros: Good Price, Good location, Good atmosphere, Easy to book an appointment, Stylist did exactly what I wanted and offered lots of tips on upkeep, Knowledgable and friendly Cons: No real ""menu"" of services due to indepentant stylists, Most only accept check/cash, the process was lengthy BUT done *right*, No website - you guys want one? :) more
