Where to start...
First, you are greeted at the counter by someone who is more interested in the conversation she/he is having with a bunch of their friends standing around the counter than checking you in and who seems rather annoyed at the fact that they have to pause for a second to swipe your badge. Remember, they like your money, not you.
Second, when you walk past the counter into the workout area, you are assaulted in the face by the smell of hundreds of sweaty bodies, most of which smell as if they have never heard of, much less used, deodorant. I can only assume it is because the ventilation is so poor at this location, that body stink has nowhere to go and not only lingers, but gains strength as you proceed through the gym. In the media room at around 6pm, the stink is so rampant you can literally taste it. You may ask yourself, why don't they just fix the ventilation and enforce the hygiene policy that requires people to not only wipe down machines after each use (they do not) but also to not offend other members with their body funk? Again, they care about your money, not you.
Lastly, if you can see past the rude staff, the over-crowded area full of sweating people, and the overbearing stink of said bodies, you get to work out on machines that are at least 10-15 years old, are falling apart, and are in desperate need of replacing. How do I know this you may ask. I was one of the founding members of that location when Gold's Gym first opened its doors years ago! Some of the equipment was old even then. Guess what...NOTHING HAS CHANGED! It's the same equipment, same placement, same problems it had back then! Why wouldn't they buy new (or at least updated) equipment? Oh, yeah, that costs MONEY! For the last time, it isn't about you! It's all about the money!
Do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE ELSE but here.
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Machines-old, Staff-unprofessional, Air-STINKS!
