Review content:
I feel like we're getting taken for a ride by this place. My boyfriend and I joined a year and a half ago.
At the time it was a great facility. Group Fitness, Spin classes, working cardio equipment.
They originally offered us a $49.99 a month membership for two years. We negotiated him down (like a used car salesman) to the $29.99 a month two year contract rate and we were pretty satisfied. We weren't planning on moving anytime soon and were pretty happy with the gym and it's services.
However, not 6 months later they stopped ALL group fitness and spin classes (in exchange for ""group personal trainer"" classes for an additional cost).
One of the main reasons I joined the gym was for the group fitness classes. I sucked it up and dealt with it. The next month they started offering 14.99 NO CONTRACT deals. I brought it up with the front desk staff. They told me I needed to talk with the manager. I spoke with the manger, he said I needed to speak with corporate. I emailed corporate and never heard anything back. I kept bringing it up with management and was continuously told that they couldn't do anything about it as I had signed a contract and in that contract they had the right to discontinue services (such as group fitness) and offer a lower rate to new customers (14.99 no contract vs our 49.99/29.99 2 year contract (1.5 years left at this point) contract).
Finally I got an answer from management that I could pay $99 to get transferred to the 14.99 no contract membership. At this point I opted out because 1. I was pissed and 2. I felt I could get it resolved in another way. That never happened. All of my calls/emails to corporate wen't unanswered. So fine. My fault. I signed the contract.
1 year later. The gym has been torn to pieces. More than half of the machines don't work in some capacity (TV (most common), off balance, 'out of order'), and the whole gym has been placed ""UNDER CONSTRUCTION"" Cardio Theater is in shambles. No idea of completion as noted by the employees. So now, it's damn near impossible to get a machine (""We don't get told those details"").
Never mind the general issues that have existed there all along. Rude employees, unauthorized charges. Changed my auto draft CC # with them. Staff didn't put it in the system. Got charged late fees. Dealt with it w/ management. Told I wouldn't get charged the $20 late fee. Come two weeks later I got charged it out of nowhere.
These guys are idiots. I also got charged twice out of nowhere. Got accused of lying a few times about it. It took me bringing in my bank statements to get it resolved. This company is an unorganized mess! I can't wait until my contract expires in January.
Stay the hell away?from this mess. The price may be great, but you'll pay for it in the long term.
