Thrill rides, shops and restaurants at Citywalk and a fabulous Hollywood experience with King Kong, Revenge of the Mummy and Shrek. There is no reason not to have a good time.

I like coming here. There is no headache..It doesnt wear you down and the prices are decent. A much better time here then magic..as for disney..nothing is beter then that.

Very cool place 10/29/2010

Spent a good amount of my childhood playing between Universal Studios and Disneyland. While Disney is still king of little kiddie amusements, I really loved Universal Studios! I came back here a few years ago and my favorite is the backlot tour. You can see the scene from war of the worlds which was a pretty awesome scene. The food here is not the best but you can always dine at the Citywalk just outside of the walls. more

Awesome time. 2/18/2009

I love this theme park. It's always been one of my favorites. Theres just enought to do, and the studio tour will please movie people and even non movie people. I suggest that you purchase the front of the line pass, it's a bit pricey but worth it. Go to universal you'll love it. Pros: Awesome, cool rides, and shows. Cons: Bit pricey more

this place is great, they have so much to do inside, but i wouldn't expect any super scarey rides, more adventure like, but still a great time!! the food of coarse is over priced, but what theme park's aren't? admission isn't too bad either. more

If you are ever looking for something fun and exciting to do in LA... go to Universal Studios Hollywood! In all my years of visiting Universal each time gets better and better. My kids are 10 and 15 and they always have a blast riding the movie themed rides. They especially like the Revenge of the Mummy ride. more

For the money, go to Disneyland or Six Flags 7/31/2008

This place doesn't have the magic of Disneyland, and doesn't have the great rides of Six Flags. Not that it's all bad, there are some decent rides, and it covers the bases of any normal theme park, but it's a distant third to Disneyland and Six Flags. more

Waste of time 4/5/2008

When a park offers its local to buy a day get the rest of the year free we chould have known that it was a flop of a park. We have been to several amusment parks across the US and by far this was the worst of all only a few movie rides. We loved Universal in Flordia but hate and I repeat HATE the California one. It is a huge waste of money we saw the whole park in 4 hours and did not even use our next day that we could have gotten in for free. My children are 11 and 13 they also thought that is was a waste they had more fun in our hotel swimming pool and we own a pool at home. more

Weak as amusement parks go 11/24/2007

If you're going to Universal Studios expecting rides, you'll be disappointed. The roller coaster is weak. And the water ride is fun in a way but ultimately a let down. Throughout the park there are ""rides"" that really are just fancy shows. The backlot tour is cool. But won't get any thrills here. And you will spend a mint on food. There are certainly better options in the Los Angeles area. more

the park isn't that fun for the older set. your done with all the rides in about two hours, so if your not a kid be ready to see some shows, Go to citywalk and catch a movie when you get bored except theater has gone downhill, Just repainted with dead rainbow, way too colorful. Bad Info on Website re: Shuttle Times 10/19/2007

Universal has some arrangement with Southern California Gray Lines, a shuttle service to/from Anaheim hotels, but the info on Universal's website is not correct. Off-season departure from the park is between 6 and 6:30 pm -- NOT at 5pm and 8:30 pm as the Universal Site suggests. I informed them I had spoken with Gray Line and confirmed the correct (and only) time the shuttle departs from the park, but they merely responded that their information was directly from Gray Line - I must have been confused. Clearly, they have made no effort to pick up the phone and call their associated vendor because it was easier to pass the buck through an email to me. Cons: Website Info Reliability more

Lots of movie fun!! 7/13/2007

One of my best amusement park memories was the first time I visited Universal Studios as a child and Frankenstein sat next to me on the back lot tour tram. It was weird, a little uncomfortable, but very funny. Although the park has changed drastically over the last few decades, it still retains it's original spirit...celebration of film. The rides/attractions are more clever than ever. I have family that come from Hawaii, and Universal is their first stop...even before Disneland and Knotts. Awesome time! Saw TV stars and had fun. 5/17/2005

My wife, two children and I had a great time at Universal! It was my first time back in years and I was surprised by all the new cool attractions. We all loved Shrek 4d its really funny. We liked it so much we went back to see it again. We also loved Mummy ride and Waterworld (amazingly, Universals turned it into a very cool stunt show). My wife loved the Studio Tour it passes movie sets and Wisteria Lane from Desperate Housewives. We even saw some of the D.H. actresses (including Teri H.!) standing on a set. When my kids were younger, they liked Disneyland a lot; but last time we were all really bored. Disney is fun for younger kids, but once they get older, Universals a much better fit (my son is 9 and my daughter 14). In all, a very fun and memorable outing. Go to Disneyland instead...or the beach 7/4/2004

I've been to US twice now - once in March, and once in July. Both times were miserable. Their attractions are short and just don't have the effort put into them that disney does...and the new Mummy ride is a sad attempt at competetion with disney. There is only one room with special effects...the rest is just paintings on pieces of scrimm lit with black light. The food is terrible, the lines are long, and everything is way too expensive. Save money and time - don't go! 11/1/2002

I have never had a plesant experience at Universal Studios. The lines are way too long, and the number of rides is limited! You will spend most of your day in a line, and about 20 minutes TOTAL in the attractions (if they're not broken!) Add overpriced, low-quality food and a $15 Spongebob Squarepants drink sipper, and what a day! I'd rather be at the beach. Cons: Crowded, unaccessable, expensive more

Another World amid concrete jungle 9/4/2002

A great place to get away...not too expensive if you have the annual pass. Residents take advantage of this. Cheap eats at Universal Citywalk. My family went to Universal Studio around April, it happened to be raining that day but we still had tons of fun. There were bus load of tourists from other countries but the park was huge enough to accomodate all the visitors. The animal show with all the famous animal characters in movies was very funny and my little sister loved ""Babe!"" I also liked the train ride that takes you to fmaous movie sites like ""Back to the Future"" and the car they used in the movie was there including all the rides.. I give it in an A... A nice day for the family 8/11/2002

I like U-Studios, once I recovered from the sticker shock. It was not only entertaining, but an educational experience. The backlot tour is a must, and the attractions are great. I'm a Backdraft guy myself, but everything else is well done. Younger kids might not enjoy T2, but overall I think this is a place that offers a little something for everyone. Cue Lights, Camera, Action! 8/2/2002

I always feel like I stepped into my favorite movie here. A buzz of excitement and a memoriable experience everytime I go, because even though the main tours don't vary much, it's the reactions to the people you're with that you enjoy so much. My favorite memories are when I participate, you really can't do that at Disneyland. In the Star Trek Movie Tour I was beamed off the Enterprise and my dad got it on tape. In Back-To-The-Future I was struck by lighting as Doc Brown and my dad got that on tape too. Hmm...I really ought to find that tape. By the way BYO family lunch in a backpack and shave $45 bucks off the cost of going out. Compared to Disneyland, Universal Studios is more fun for adults. T2, Waterworld and Back to the Future are fun. I also give Universal credit with launching Citywalk long before Disney built Downtown Disney.
