Best

Thrill rides, shops and restaurants at Citywalk and a fabulous Hollywood experience with King Kong, Revenge of the Mummy and Shrek. There is no reason not to have a good time.

Worst

fun

I like coming here. There is no headache..It doesnt wear you down and the prices are decent. A much better time here then magic..as for disney..nothing is beter then that.

Hollywood Personified 7/21/2002

Universal Studios is a great tourist attraction. First you have Citywalk which is absolutely free with its shops and restaurants galore. Then when you enter the park, you have shows, rides, food and shops. It is all about Hollywood and what happens behind the scenes in the movies. If you are lucky, you may even get to see some movies or tv shows being filmed on the backlot while you are there! Pros: Entertaining, Lots to See, Good Food Cons: Crowded more

Pocket-sized theme park 7/17/2002

For a theme-park day that doesn't consume all your energy, sunscreen and dollars, Universal Studios is a good bet. An easier drive than Disneyland or Magic Mountain for most Angelenos, the park has just enough attractions to count for a day of mindless fun and thrills. Lines can be longer than worth it at the bigger attractions (e.g., Terminator 3 and Jurassic Park), but there's plenty enough to do and see in five or six hours. You can extend the day with shopping and entertainment at the adjacent CityWalk. more

Movie Magic to the Max! 7/16/2002

If you are a movie buff you will love this park! However, anyone looking for thrills, chills, and spills will not find that here. Universal Studios Hollywood is a laid back kind of park full of more shows than rides. If you want to know how a movie is made, and are fascinated with stunts and special affects, this place is for you! Like any theme park the lines do get and are long, especially during peak season. If you want to get away from the lines for a while take a stroll down Universal City Walk where it is full of shops and restaurants. USH is not an all day theme park and it can get expensive. If you are a more Six Flags Magic Mountain kind of person, you will find Universal Studios Hollywood to be a snoozer. Pros: Great Shows, Interesting Facts Cons: Not An All Day Park, No Thrill Rides more

Worth Doing Once 6/28/2002

If youve never been to LA and youre fascinated by the movie industry, then this tour is a must-take. You get to see how stunts are accomplished, how special effects work, as well as kicking back in the little tour shuttle thing and driving around one of the most famous backlots in the world. If you live in LA and youve already been here once, I cant really see any need to come back unless you have kids who are really into it, or you get one of the free annual passes (they had a special going for awhile where you could get an annual pass for the cost of one days admission or something). The lines are long, the food is generic, and everything is way overpriced. Pros: interesting tour, hollywood backlot Cons: expensive, hot in summer more

Expensive! 6/2/2002

I did enjoy this park, but it can get expensive for food, drinks, and extras. I really liked the Jurassic Park ride. The Mummy exhibit was great! I also like the Back to the Future ride. My favorite characters are Woody Woodpecker, Alvin and the chipmunks, and the Rugrat babies. Pros: costumed characters Cons: pay to park, expensive food/drinks more
