Great tailor! 5/12/2012

I'm not sure why everyone keeps writing such negative reviews about this place... I picked the tailor out because they're on my way home from the office and are close to my house and have been quite pleased with them! They were amicable when altering my dress, their prices are quite reasonable, and the staff was friendly and jovial despite it being a busy, muggy Saturday afternoon. Maybe I haven't been spoiled by a Bob's Steakhouse of Taylors (sic), but they're certainly not McDonalds. more

The McDonalds of Taylors. 4/23/2012

This place treats you like you're ordering a 99c burger in a drive through. They don't acknowledge you, they treat you like crap and they have fast turn around times because they do shoddy work and probably take on way more than they can handle. Here is my experience: This is the single worst customer service that I've ever experienced from a taylor. The owner and the manager were both rude to the point where I walked out the store. I paid $93 for 2 suits to be fitted and after finding the pants were 2 completely different lengths and some of the work wasn't even done I needed further changes made to 3 out of the 4 pieces. What did they do? Charged me an extra $27. What a joke. The manager just didn't seem to care in the slightest and just ignored me. The owner was down right rude even in front of other customers in the store. If you're doing anything more than hemming your jeans, go elsewhere, more

Bad work took over two weeks for 2 pants! 7/12/2010

I went here because I saw a lot of good reviews online, GEEZ that was the biggest mistake I have made to date. They screwed up my pants, acted like it was my fault, told me if I didnt want to pay for it then I should not have come in!!! Then, the girl that measured me, finally said, ""oh, yeah, I forgot to write that down"". Complete JERKS and UNPROFESSIONAL! DO NOT GO HERE! Pros: Nothing Cons: Rude, expensive and not willing to admit their own mistakes! more

Horrible customer service 1/12/2010

I dropped off a jacket and pair of pants to have them altered and was given a total price of $30 for both. I got there and was told that i had to pay $56. What pissed me off the most was how rude one particular employee was (i think she's the owners wife). She tried to make it seem like I was lying even though I had the ticket that was given to me that cleraly showed a total price $30. When I disagreed with the new price she told me to just pay and get out the store. To make matters worse I was given someone else's pants. It took about 15 mins for them to find my pants. I wasn't very impressed with the quality of work. Any trained tailor can do the same. I will NEVER go back there. There is no way I'll give my hard earned money to people that think its okay to be rude to customers. There are hundreds of tailors in the dallas area to choose from. \r Pros: Okay quality of work Cons: Very rude employees and very unorganized more

Poor Customer Service 10/28/2009

I was told Unique Tailor did an awesome job for a reasonable price, I went in to take my jeans fto be ix and the quality of work was not what I expected not only that they have very poor management skills and terribe customer service it was a lady that took care of me with a very poor attitude , I don't think you should be in bussiness if you treat people with a terrible attitude. Their space is very small and they are always pack (due to cheap price) but she was extreamly rude to me I will never go back and don't suggestion this place to anyone. Pros: Cheap price Cons: Service is cheap too ! more

Disappointed 4/28/2009

I was thoroughly disappointed by the quality of the jean hem at Unique Tailor. I spent $165 on a pair of seven jeans and wanted the original hem put back on. They did a terrible job sewing the original back on. The bottom of my jeans now look like bell bottoms as the cuff is now an inch wider. It does not look anything like the original hem. Dissappointed and recommend a park cities tailor on lover's lane who does all of the shortening work for the Seven's store at Northpark Mall. Unique work indeed! Cons: Terrible Workmanship more

Cheap but the quality of work can be poor 2/7/2009

I've been going to Unique Tailor for the last 4 years, you could call me a loyal customer., and I have never returned anything because of poor quality of work. I collect vintage clothing and Unique Tailor has altered just about every piece that I own along with every pair of jeans I own. Today I returned with 3 pairs of dress pants my husband took in 3 months prior. Each hem that they did had already fallen out and the pants were unwearable. The hem jobs were very poorly done. In fact, I have noticed that the quality of work over the last 6 months has really declined. When I arrived I was told there was a 30 day return policy. Understood, that's fair. I asked how long a new hem should typically stay in a pair of pants (much less all 3) and I was again informed of the 30 day return policy. So I then asked for assurance that if I do leave the pants again the work would be quality. The owner stormed off and left me standing at the counter. I am very sad that I was treated that way because I did truely value their quick, affordable work. Bottom line is that you get what you pay for... I'm looking for a nice new tailor now! Pros: Cheap & Quick Cons: Always crowded and really poor customer service skills more

you get what you pay for 6/8/2008

I agree with the previous Review which states that they take a week to get your items done & they are very inexpensive. You get what you Pay For. They have made mistakes on my alterations in the past & were very very reluctant to apologize and compensate for the mistake. They sewed an outfit backwards, and tried to explain to me that things happen. Their lack of empathy with the high gas prices and the time that it takes to return to their establisment to pick up the item is appauling. If you like inexpensive/cheap alterations, then this is the place to go to, But.... Buyer Beware......: You get what you pay for!! Pros: Cheap Cons: makes mistakes quite frequently more

VERY cheap & high quality 4/22/2006

I've been to Unique Tailor a few times and have to say that their prices are ridiculously cheap compared to tailors in this part of Dallas. $5 to hem jeans, $15 to retailor men's dress shirts while other places in the area charge between 2x-4x that price (I called about 5 different tailors). The owner is a fashion school graduate and has many years of experience in clothing design but the only downside is it takes about 1 week to get a single item back. Still, quality is great, and prices are cheap! more
