I was looking for an overall cool and hip haircut and was recommended to Justine by a friend. As I walked into the salon I was greeted by the receptionist with all smiles and then greeted by Justine who was super friendly. It was really cool how I was offered wine, beer, tea or water. My hair is very coarse and curly and difficult to deal with and stylist have a hard time managing to get the look I want. Justine knew EXACTLY what I wanted and able to give me one of my favorite hair cuts yet! I would definitely recommend this salon and stylist to ALL of my friends. Went to owner Fay Doe to have her re-cut a disastrous cut I'd gotten at another salon. Fay went above and beyond expectations. She created order from chaos, and my new cut is exactly what I wanted. Fay is very amicable and professional. The staff at Underground is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. I have been going to Fay at the underground for 5 years and would never dream of going to someone else.I like to keep my hair long and layered and fay cuts it perfectly every time, as well as keeping it modern and up to date. Fay always has me looking and feeling glamorous by the time I leave her salon. more

I normally hate gettintg my hair cut, but when I recently got my hair done at the Underground I had a wonderful experience. The environment was extremely trendy and the staff were sociable. Dan was the only stylist available for my haircut and I am lucky that he was the one I ended up with. I just wanted a trim but being the professional he is, he convinced me to cut off more length and explained to me his reasoning. I didn't realize how damaged my hair had been from the extensions I had previously removed. Not only does my hair look healthier, but I look better! I would recommend this salon to anyone. I was really looking forward to finding the right person for cuts. Decided to try the owner Flo who is even more money than another in salon stylist. Flo has an inflated ego so don't dare tell her how to cut your hair and be so precise that she feels less than all that she is. She cut my hair dry and I have never had a cut done with dry hair. My hair is long with layers too. Didn't come out so great. Really hard to style if I wanted curl, waves or such. I have since gone to a new person and they were amazed what chop job it was. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE THAT WANTS A GOOD UPDATED STYLE. ALL OF THE STYLISTS WERE VERY COOL. I HAVE BEEN TO A FEW DIFFERENT STYLISTS THERE AND EVERY SINGLE TIME I HAVE BEEN VERY HAPPY. I was very disappointed with my experience at Underground. The first time I went the stylist took three inches off my hair even though I made it quite clear (I reminded her twice while she was cutting my hair) to only take one inch off. However, I decided to give Underground a second chance. The next time I went I used a different stylist and she put layers in my hair even though I just wanted a basic trim--no layers! Go here only if you want someone to completely disregard your wishes and do whatever they want with your hair. NOT recommended! I just love what Chris does -- his stylings are modern and hip. The atmosphere is fun, and everyone cares about making the customer feel the best! more

Absolutely wonderful. The people are very nice and do exactly what you want. It can get a little pricey, but is well worth it for the quality. I have had both cuts and dyes here and they never fail to make me look my best. This is a hot spot for models who need to look their best. This place is great-- whether you want a ""safe"" haircut or something more edgy the folks here have the skill and the knowledge to pull it off. Chris has a discount for students, which means you get an excellent hair cut for only $35. The regular cost is more, but still well within a reasonable scale. Highly, highly recommended! Pros: Parking is easy, Cool atmosphere, Reasonably priced more
