We took our 7 year TV to Jack's get a repair estimate when it began color separating. Trey said 1) it could not be fixed and 2) It was over 6 years old, and they don't make the parts anymore. It only ended up needing one board replaced. 3) He offered to apply the estimate fee to a new purchase or installation, and I asked if that would be toward a new TV, or other items. He said either. 4) We liked one TV, but his sales clerk told us it did not come in the size we wanted. I turned to Trey and said, ""Really?"" and he confirmed this. 5) When I told him I had seen the other size at Best Buy, he claimed his supplier did not carry those sizes. 6) I found the TV MUCH cheaper and came in to have Trey install it. He was furious and shouted that he could have beaten that price (so far, no one in San Diego has) then didn't want to install it. So we agreed to also purchase an additional item from him for installation and he agreed 7) to do both installations for the amount owed us to ""keep our business."" 8) I offered him the installation manual, which he refused, saying his guys knew just what to do. They didn't. They spent 2 hours and 20 minutes READING THE MANUAL to try to figure out how to install it, and we were charged $139. PER HOUR for them to read it. 9) Our credit was never applied. The installers DID NOT calibrate the TV, just hung it on the wall and left, taking away with them the second item we had paid for. 10) We called Trey about the installation overcharge, the failure to credit, the fact that they didn't deliver or install the other part, and the lack of full-hook up and an adequate picture and he claimed 11) the fee was justified as it was new technology they couldn't be required to know, 12) he couldn't fix the lack of credit, and 13) that we had refused the part, which we had already paid for! As for the lack of set up, he told us 14) to call Cox, it wasn't his installers' job to calibrate TVs, just to hang them on the wall We ended up having to pay Cox extra to get them to do Trey's installers job. Then I asked for the other part we had already paid for to hook it up myself, and he insisted 15) he would have his installers come do it as it was their mistake. As the installer left after simply putting the item in place, he said ""Trey said to tell you the money owed you goes towards THIS INSTALLATION"" meaning we paid for a full TV installation price for a glass shelf screwed into the wall.\r
