For about 15 years I have been going to Dr. Etskovitz for occasional foot problems (broken toe, arch problems, ingrown toenails, etc.), and I have recommended him to a number of friends and business associates. I would say there is a general consensus among us that Dr. Etskovitz is the best physician in the Solar System. As you can see from other reviews here and on other physician review sites, Dr. E is extremely knowledgeable and skilled, caring, very patient, informative, personable, not the least bit imperious or arrogant. I have never met any other physician quite like him. It's just a pleasure to visit him for foot care.\r BTW, be sure to do every home-care step that Dr. E asks you to. If he asks you to soak your foot in a warm Epsom Salts bath twice a day for 20 miniutes every day for 7 days, do exactly that. That's what he told me to do after doing a couple of ingrown toenail procedures, so I did it and had no problems at all. A friend of mine had the same procedure but did not follow the Epson Salts home care procedure, and he got a nasty infection. Probably the warm, moist environment in a shoe makes a great place for bacteria or fungus to grow in a surgical wound. more

I had a bunion on my foot that was very painful. I knew I had to have surgery but was reluctant because of the pain and the time I would need to be off my feet ( I am a salon owner/stylist and a fitness instructor so all of my work depends on being on my feet.). I went to see Dr. Etskovitz and he was very thorough about what my options were ( I actually needed surgery on both feet- one was worse than the other so we just did that one.)He educated me on what it involved. He took his time to answer all my questions so that I felt comfortable making my decision. I had the surgery done at Newton Wellesley. Everything went smooth and he was there to make sure recovery went well too. I listened to what he said about taking time off ( Very impt. for proper healing! He is a great surgeon but can only have his work be 100% successful if you follow your care directions at home. ) It was tough to stay off my feet that long but worth it! You can barely see the scar and I feel great! It's the first time I found a doctor who has everything; knowledge, care and skill. Wish there were more out there! more

I wish all my doctors were like Dr. Etskovitz, he is genuine and caring. Very understanding and full of information. He gives it to you straight with no fluff and always a smile. He takes his time with me and answers all my questions regardless of how dumb I think they may be. In the last 3 years I've only been to him twice but each time, for different issues, he's provided me with reassurance and terrific care. He has a great bed side manner. more

This office was highly recommended to me by someone I respect and trust, but I have no experience with the medical care here because just trying to make an appointment was such a pain. Nobody answers the phones at this place! And leaving requests for an appointment (""I'm in a lot of pain"") on their service were completely ignored; When I finally got through to ""a live person"" -- 3 days later,-- no apology, just a gruff attitude of indifference. During that phone call, I was repeatedly told, not asked, ""hold."". Appears patients' needs here are just an imposition. As soon as that conversation ended, I emailed some runner friends for other recommendations. more
