After seeing an ad for an all-house ductless heating and cooling system, I did my research on the product and decided to have it installed. TriCounty Temp was one of the manufacturer recommended vendors. Why, I don't know, it was a disaster from start to finish. First the salesman way oversold the product - as it turned out when the installers arrived, it would not handle the upper floor of the house (where the bedrooms are). Not even adding on an extra unit could be done, I'd have to buy a whole second unit at a mere $10,500 MORE. Since the 50% deposit had been paid, I went ahead. Big mistake. The installers were incompetent. They not only did not put the unit in my bedroom where I asked for it, they didn't even put it where they said they were going to, they simply put it where it was most convenient FOR THEM, which, by the way, was the location with the WORST air flow. Then the unit leaked all over the place, sending actual cascades of water down the wall. Not once (the very day it was installed) but twice. Then the basement unit didn't do anything more than fan the air. for $10,520, I expected more than a fan.
So the repair guy came out - he, actually, was good - and said the installers had really screwed it up, The condensation drip pan was tilted and too high (so it emptied into my living room and not outside), the lines were kinked (restricted just about everything), and somebody left a cap on the lines in the basement unit which, naturally, prevented the unit from working at all.
THREE repair trips within 24 hours of install were required to get it going. They were very good at cashing the checks, however, which may explain why they didn't really care about doing the install right. They still left the filters out.
The salesman and install guys did not want to talk to me as I am female. Never mind I'm the homeowner and paying for this. Chauvanism and incompetence are alive and well at TriCounty Temp Control. Avoid them!
Pros: They were prompt and at least one repair person knew what he was doing.
Cons: Faulty installation, did not listen to customer, oversold product
