Don't Call them!! 8/5/2011

I regret ever picking up the phone over a week and a half ago! We went from a water leak in our furnace to replacing $700 worth of parts back to 3 times worse of the same water leak. All over almost 2 weeks of dealing with this company. Dont even bother unless you have tons of money and time on your hands....We don't trust what happened from the first appointment. But then you are stuck dealing with the crappy customer service and crappy techs just to get on with your life. more

Very pleased! 6/13/2011

We are so pleased with Tri County Temp Control and with our new Trane gas furnace and AC! The whole experience was professional, prompt, and exceeded our expectations. Jason (who provided the initial bid) has been great about answering all of my follow-up questions, and the installers who came were professional and thorough. I would recommend Tri County Temp Control to anyone looking for a heating/cooling vendor. more

never before 6/3/2011

I had a problem with my heater and a friend recommended I call Tri County Temp Control. She said to make sure I call the right company because there's some other companies with similar names. So I called and to my amazment a real person who actually works there answered the phone. She was helpful and immediately got me to the nice person in the service department who scheduled an appointment and had the service person come out to let me know why I had no heat. Before they sent someone to my home she sent me a photo via email so I knew who would be at my door and when they arrived he was very polite and professional. He found the problem, let me know how much for rthe repairs. I agreed and he promptly did the repair even though I knew the furnace was old and he recommended it should be replaced, but I didn't want to spend the money at the time. He cleaned everything up and did a fantastic job. I was now happy and warm. Almost one month later the heater went down again, so I called they came out again and as I suspected being an old furnace something else went bad. He called the office and they sent out a comfort specialist and we talked about a new high efficient furnace and adding a/c at the same time. I was kind of shocked at the price but since I've never bought a furnace and a/c before I really didn't know, the nice thing was they were giving me a full refund on my previous service call. With no pressure to make a sale they told me to get other quotes so I could make a well informed buying decision. I wasted my time and many phone calls getting two other quotes from other companies. Even though they were a lot cheaper I wasn't comfortable putting my trust or money in them. I ended up having Tri County Temp Control install a new high efficient furnace, a/c, air cleaner along with a earth quake safety gas shut off. The installers were on time, they keep my house clean, they explained everything and made sure I was well taken care of. I've had other contractors do work at my home and in the past I've never felt secure or that I got a good deal. With Tri County Temp Control they not only did a great job but I had a great experiance. I also am saving money on my utility bills and my home has never been more comfortable. Hats off to the entire staff, never before have I felt so good about working with a contractor in my home. more

Gas water heater 6/3/2011

I noticed that my water heater never seemed to be consistent. It was either scalding hot or too cold. I had Tri-County Temp Control diagnose the problem right away and I decided to have a new water heater installed. The water temperature is now perfect and the installation went very well. The installer found and repaired a gas leak that I didn't even know I had. He also reprogrammed my thermostat and when I got my next utility bill, he had saved me over $90. I would recommend Tri-County Temp Control to anyone. more

Gas furnace, AC, and filter 6/3/2011

I wanted to take the opportunity to not only thank Chris, but also thank the crew that did the installation and the office staff. I have been told that Joe was the foreman on the job and as a "high maintenance" female customer, the professionalism, courtesy and excellent work that Joe and his entire team (sorry I do not remember all of ther names) provided to me during the installation. As an evening shift emergency room nurse, I was a bit concerned at having strangers in my home; Joe and the crew were wonderful. They worked around my "sleepy morning" routine without a problem. My house was clean when they left, and I was even able to nap on the couch while they worked. Joe was able to take me through the cleaning process for the filter, set the thermostat to my work hours and weekend needs, and all the time with a smile. For someone like me, who can put together a ventilator and other medical equipment, but are all thumbs when it comes to household items, Joe was perfect! more

I think Tri-county Temp Control is a first-rate company. So far I have needed no further assistance as they fully informed me in just about every way imaginable. Very satisfied! more

Tri County Temp Control 5/19/2011

I just had Tri County come to my home in Gresham and give my cooling unit a check up. The technician arrived on time, wore foot covers into my home and gloves when he was at the control unit. After performing his work, he presented an invoice which exactly matched the price I was quoted and explained what he found. My system appears to be in good shape and I took the technicians advise and signed up for an extended service plan. What a great experience. more

New Hot Water Heater and Gas Furnace 5/10/2011

Installation is going on as I type. So far they have flooded the garage. Lot of stuff is wet. Unapologetic the technician says that I must of turned on the hot water while he was working. I did not. So far not so good. Salesman did a slick job on selling me but afterwards I checked pricing and found he got me pretty good. SO I am paying a hefty installation price. Will post followup. Must advise folks to get competitive quotes and don't assume you will get quality workmanship from Tri County Temp Control. more

Professional, Prompt, and Reasonable 12/20/2010

Tri-County Temp Control has been taking care of my furnace and air conditioner for the past 12 years. I'm not easy to impress, but these guys know how to give great service. The technicians have always been great and the office staff has always been available to take my call. I was impressed to find out that they do background checks and drug screenings on their employees. I have always found their prices to be fair and consistent with the area. It's nice to work with a contractor that I can trust. more

Great Sales People; Terrible Customer Service People 11/15/2010

This review is regarding service only. I will say my furnace installation went well (we paid top $$$ so it should of gone well right?) and we were given a free first year maintenance of the furnace. So a gal called to schedule the furnace a couple weeks ago. She scheduled for Nov. 12th. I took time off of work to accomidate their schedule. The afternoon before they are to arrive, I receive a voice mail telling me the weather is cold and to call back next spring when the weather warms up to re-schedule my first year maintenance. Weather is 100% average for November right now. I explained that the furnace manufacturer suggests a twice yearly maintenance and they suggest to have it done in the fall prior to using it all winter. Our furnace is due for its maintenance and we bought the furnace and expect them to provide the maintenance they said came with the purchase. After some back and forth emails, some hot shot named Barry Robinson the "service Manager" shoots me a very nice condecending email which in part states "You have made it very clear that you are the most important customer that we have. I am willing to put you in front of customers with no heat to maintain a great reputation and your satisfaction" Based on the reviews here, I'm not so sure about the great reputation, but I digress... Am I to believe that a company as large as Tri-County has every tech and maintenance guy on call until next spring graciously helping people out with no heat? Give me a break. As I type this email, its 59 degrees on November 15th - hardly a cold snap that would cause a decent company to cancel their maintenance appointments...(unless they are free). So while Tri-County is great at selling you the product with their polished sales pitch, the back end customer service is terrible. We are going to have our furnace maintenanced this week like it is supposed to be on our own dime because Tri-County can't seem to uphold their end of the bargin. I'd rather pay another company to maintenance my furnace than do business with someone like Barry at Tri County Temp Control. more

Very Professional 7/29/2009

Arrived on time, fixed my A/C at a reasonable price, and were nice and professional. I would recommend! more

I rue the day..... 7/27/2009

This company installed a high efficiency heat pump, replaced ductwork a little over a years ago. I rue the day I chose them. I have had nothing but serious issues with this system. I wish I had KEPT the 85% old gas furnace I had and was still using window A/C!! I spent over 12K on this system, which was installed in the crawl space - the most elaborate installation I have ever seen - this, they insisted, was the only place it could be put. Everything was wrong, from the initial estimator who came out to each and every serviceman. My electric bills were out of sight. Serviceman after serviceman came out until finally my friend who is a contractor came over and discovered I was heating and cooling the great outdoors. The list of things wrong was a mile long. I do not believe this company is honest. When a system is not performing correctly they do a diagnostic check - aptly named a CHECK ME. They go through all the parts until your system passes this test - the results of which come from some place in CA, I believe. After about three visits, adjustments, they were able to get the system to pass the CHECK ME. However, it was AFTER this point, that my friend came over and found a myriad number of things wrong. This, leads me to believe that the so-called CHECK ME is bogus, otherwise how could the system have passed? Do yourself a favor and do not use this company. They have, in my opinion, only one employee who actually knows what he is doing and good luck getting him as your technician because he is in high demand. Pros: No pros Cons: Unmitigated and complete ineptitude more

Tri County Is A Joke 2/5/2009

I am a installer of a/c and heating equip.Have done this for more than 20 years. I just took a job at tri county temp in oregon city and was treated like garbage. The sales guy came to the job and was a total behind! He called me a HACK ,And told me that the hole I cut in the drywall was not straight enough and that "we dont keep guys around like that" I have never been treated so badly over something so stupid. Then was FIRED! the next day . I might add the hole in question was not even done yet and the finish product turned out just fine and was NOT IN ANY WAY BAD LOOKING OR WRONG.the customer was happy with the job and even gave me a 40 dollar tip in the form of a resturaunt voucher. I have NEVER been fired in my whole life and I have a family to support. This place has a REAL problem with how they treat people and I would think very hard about using them to do ANYTHING! After this I called a longtime friend of mine in Bend Or. He told me that times are hard there and that he had took a job for Tri County temp over there,The person Im talking about is one of the best tech's I have ever seen and a great guy to boot,He told be they did the same thing to him, treated him like garbage and let him go after only a week. If you knew the guy you would know what a bunch of Sh*t this is as like I said ,one of the best guys I've seen in over 20 years in the trade. please go and read all other review's they are all bad as far as I can see. One more thing the company does is sell under the name "FIRST CALL" and then stick magnetic signs on the truck over the tri county ones so if you call first call your getting tri county. I think that is garbage as well In a way lieing to you. more

Incompetent installation and nightmare customer service 8/21/2008

After seeing an ad for an all-house ductless heating and cooling system, I did my research on the product and decided to have it installed. TriCounty Temp was one of the manufacturer recommended vendors. Why, I don't know, it was a disaster from start to finish. First the salesman way oversold the product - as it turned out when the installers arrived, it would not handle the upper floor of the house (where the bedrooms are). Not even adding on an extra unit could be done, I'd have to buy a whole second unit at a mere $10,500 MORE. Since the 50% deposit had been paid, I went ahead. Big mistake. The installers were incompetent. They not only did not put the unit in my bedroom where I asked for it, they didn't even put it where they said they were going to, they simply put it where it was most convenient FOR THEM, which, by the way, was the location with the WORST air flow. Then the unit leaked all over the place, sending actual cascades of water down the wall. Not once (the very day it was installed) but twice. Then the basement unit didn't do anything more than fan the air. for $10,520, I expected more than a fan. So the repair guy came out - he, actually, was good - and said the installers had really screwed it up, The condensation drip pan was tilted and too high (so it emptied into my living room and not outside), the lines were kinked (restricted just about everything), and somebody left a cap on the lines in the basement unit which, naturally, prevented the unit from working at all. THREE repair trips within 24 hours of install were required to get it going. They were very good at cashing the checks, however, which may explain why they didn't really care about doing the install right. They still left the filters out. The salesman and install guys did not want to talk to me as I am female. Never mind I'm the homeowner and paying for this. Chauvanism and incompetence are alive and well at TriCounty Temp Control. Avoid them! Pros: They were prompt and at least one repair person knew what he was doing. Cons: Faulty installation, did not listen to customer, oversold product more

Waited... and waited... and waited..... and waited... 6/11/2007

for 3 hours! Will not ever recommend.... make sure you tell them that you want the job done in the time they said they would. If not for the warranty, I wouldn not use them. Pros: Knew what was wrong Cons: VERY LATE FOR APPOINTED TIME! more
