BEST PLACE EVER! I recently went with my family and had a wonderful experience. All I can say is the cheese covered pork loin was the best! more

Houston's best Baby Beef ""Top Sirloin"" 5/2/2013

I know it's a hard to make that kind of statement. Don't take my word for it. Ask for the Baby Beef ""Top sirloin"" and hopefully you will agree with me that it is delicious. It's tender, juicy and best of all is grilled on a skewer. They don't have only Top sirloin, they actually claim on their website that they serve 14 cuts of meat. I don't know, I can't count very well after a couple of glasses of wine and a Caipirinha. I remember my second time better than the first and I think I saw at least 8 to 10 different cuts but by that time I was getting full and I turned my coaster to red so that I would leave some. Worthy to mention is the grilled shrimp, grilled salmon, for desserts I like the Papaya Cream( I ask for less cream and more papaya), Creme Brulee and the Flan. \r more

Pure heaven! 1/8/2012

I had about 20 different types of delicious on my plate by 1030 and there was no threat of it slowing down. The food was perfectly cooked (all of it) and there was an endless supply! I just couldn't imagine that there would ever be a vegeterian at one of these places, but it just goes to show that even I can be surprised at times still! more

Houston's Most Affordable Brazilian Steakhouse 4/2/2011

Food was excellent, service was good and price was affordable. I walked into Tradicao Brazilian Steakhouse last night by chance. I stayed next door at La Quinta Inn and I saw the ""open"" sign. I initially thought it was a Mexican restaurant because the outside is painted Orange,Green and Yellow. I walked in into a nice restaurant. They explained me it was a Brazilian Steakhouse and for a flat price I could eat all the steak and salad I wanted. The only other option in that area was trying the African Tavern ( I will do it another day) next door or to eat at Tradicao. I opted for plan one and I am very glad I did. I basically ate what they recommended because there were too many cuts to eat them all. I started with the salad, loved the ""Giant Aspargus"" ( I never seen them in a store that big"") they seemed like they were on steroids, I also enjoyed the black beans with white rice, . Ordered a caipirinha ( they will tell you what it is), a glass of of House Wine, ate lots of cuts, specially liked the Top Sirloin, the Lamb, Baby back ribs, etc. Had the house Flan for dessert and I left feeling full and ready to go to sleep. more

Expect Great Service and really good food 3/10/2011

Very Good Food! Not your 5 star establishment, but you are not paying those prices either. Lunch is best! They offer a good selection of cuts and they will prepare based on your requests. Relax, Enjoy and Be Happy! more

I will be back. Excellent steaks 2/26/2011

Tradicao gets 5 stars from me. A little hard to find but now I know how to get there. It's located at the old Pappas Grill on Hwy 59 between West Bellfort and West Airport. Good wine list, caipirinhas, cheese bread, etc. Menu is more competitive during lunch but I can't complain because I like to save money . I loved the Picanha steak cut, Baby back ribs, etc. I was sitting in a corner but it didn't seem to matter, the servers kept coming until I said ""Stop, I am going to explode!!"". Will go back... This justo be good, run down restaurant 2/16/2011

I visit the restaurant last Valentine’s day after more than a year. My new experience was extremely disappointing. To begin with, the welcome make me feel like coming in to a taqueria, very informal and lousy. After they sat us down, they only put on the table mash potatoes and nothing else. When they begin to serve the food, the meats they were bringing were excellent but I was waiting for the filet and the lamb chops that never arrived. After a while, I asked if they don't serve those meats anymore and they wanted $6 more for filet and another $6 for lamb chops. If this is the case, I can go to many other Brazilian restaurants with a better service, location and all the meats for the same price. They charge me $30 a piece and I left with a bad taste in my mouth. more

Classy and quaint experience 2/9/2011

So I was looking for a nice steakhouse to take my fiancé out to eat and was recommended by a friend to try the new Tradicao in Clear Lake. The service was great from the start. I tried some of the lemonade and browsed through a detailed list of wines. I went along with an Argentinian bottle of wine, which the both of us loved. We were already enjoying ourselves and things got even better when we started with the main part of the meal, the meats. My favorite was the ""picania"" which was the house special, but the filet and lamb chop were delicious as well. Once we finished with everything we ordered a papaya cream (sort of like a custard i guess) and a creme brulee. all i have to say that the desserts had to top the entire course. For prices that flat out beat other local ""upscale"" restaurants, Tradicao is #1. I have ever since been using it as a place to take my fiancé out to eat. more

Impeccable And Flawless 1/30/2011

We recently tried the new Tradicao location out in Clear Lake, on Bay Area Blvd. The service, attention to every little detail, and responsiveness of the waiters and gaucho servers, were all excellent. They have a very versatile wine selection, a very well decorated and romantic atmosphere, and very well-versed waiterswaitresses. The manager came around a couple of times to make sure we were pleased with our experience. I tried the bacon-wrapped filet mignon, garlic-herbed shrimp, and lamb chops. They were all mouth-watering delicious and perfect. My wife and kids tried the cheese breads, sirloin, house special-cut ribeye, and a host of other delicacies, and they were all excellent. The Valet parking attentdants were also very polished, professional and polite. They have also remodeled the entrance with a walkover bridge and beautiful fish ponds on both sides of the front dooorways. We really could not have enjoyed the experience any more than we did. Excellent in my book; and I AM a picky eater!\r PS: Try the Merryvale Starmont Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon red wine from Napa Valley; about $52 per bottle, and worth every penny.\r UPDATE: 2/18.2011: We have now eaten here twice, and the 2nd time was just as good or better than the first time. Versatile wine list, excellent service, 14 kinds of meat, lamb chops, grilled shrimp, etc This location on Bay Area Blvd in Clear Lake is excellent! more

The best food I've had in a long time!!! 12/3/2010

I went here for a business dinner. The atmosphere was good , but the service along with the great food was excellent! The salad bar was terrific and I only wanted a greater variety of salad dressing. The parmesean crusted pork, and the succelent chicken was outstanding. I also had the bacon wrapped steak which all of this was juicy , but cooked well done as I loved it. They only have a drink menu/dessert menu. The chocolate mousse & cheesecake( i tried my boss's :-) ) was divine. I recommend this place for everyone , lovers, business dinners, etc. and the price is a great deal for such good food. $28.50 for the food, up charges if you add filet mignon, or lamb. The drink which is something like a Mojito , was sooo good , I had 2! The waiters/servers were very friendly and educates you on how to order your food, even if it already comes to your table. I give it a big thumbs up! more

worst steakhouse ever! 12/2/2010

a friend recommended me eat here.. i should of just ate at mc donalds! everything in general was horrible. our food came out so late, i swear my bra cup grew 2 sizes up. more

Delicious!!! 11/26/2010

I recently went to the Clear Lake Tradicao location with my friend while visiting Houston. The restaurant was really cool, and all of the waiters were extremely nice. My experience overall was very positive. Normally, I'm not a huge meat fan, but I loved all of the meat at Tradicao! The lamb was definitely my favorite, and the shrimp was excellent as well. I think I tried everything they served, and it was all really good. The salad bar is not your typical salad bar. It has a variety of Brazilian style items, and it was really delicious and fun to try new things. They also have Brazilian drinks like caipirinhas, guarana, and a really yummy lemonade. If you've never tried these things, you need to! For dessert, we had the creme brulee, and I literally scraped the bowl clean. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend, and I will definitely be back! more

So-So 8/16/2010

So where do I begin? After musch research, I decided to go to Tradicao for my anniversary. I read all the reviews and was pretty confident that I would have an excellent experience. I knew the place would be hard to find from reading other reviews so we spotted it pretty quickly. I was suprised to see the building was shared with an African bar and a car lot. When we entered, the place was small and cozy. Definatley not your upscale dining atmosphere but ok. We were quickly seated, asked for our drink order and then left. No one came back to tell us about the restaurant or what was next. I took it upon myself to go to the salad bar...which had no salad. The bar was picked over and there was no lettuce and not a very large or fresh variety but who goes to a steak house for a salad anyway. When we got back to the table, there was some cheese bread that seemed to melt in your mouth. The food begin coming at once. It was a bit overwhelming at first having so many meats whip by but you get use to it. Now here is my problem, the website advertised 14 different meats, well we only saw 8. Never any lamb chops, filet mignon, beef ribs and god knows what else. I had to ask for the parmesan pork and waited 15 minutes and when it finally came, it was disgusting. What I can say was that the lemonade was different, the meats that I ate were good, and salad bar was lacking and I would have probably paid the extra $7 to go to Fogo. The gauchos were very nice but very difficult to understand. I rarley understood what type of meat they were carving and I was embarrassed to keep asking. My husband tried all of the meats and didnt have any complaints. I feel bad that I didnt share the other reviewers experiences but I will not be returning to Tradicao and wished I had tried Fogo instead. more

Everything is big in Texas 1/23/2010

Everything is BIG in Texas!!! It seems everything is also BIG in Brazil. I have been waiting patiently for Tradicao to open in Clear Lake. I have been a regular at the location on 59/Hillcroft but it is quite a drive. Finally I saw an OPEN sign at their new location in the Clear Lake area. Knowing the quality of the food I ventured in yesterday with my husband. I was a little shocked, the place is much nicer than the 59 location. I almost felt under-dressed when I walked in. There is a pond at the entrance with Water Lily's that had a flower in full blown ( I wonder how to do that in the middle of winter). The hostess sat us, gave us the wine list and asked us if we had tried a caipirinha before. Feeling like a specialist I told him that I loved ""Caipirinha"" and ordered a couple as an appetizer and we picked a Red Chilean to go with the meal. The salad bar was amazing, I didn't count but I would venture to say it had at least 20 to 30 items. Helped myself for the Red Peppers, some sort of Pico de Gallo that was not hot, Hearts of Palms, Dried Tomatoes, etc. They brought hot ""Cheese Bread"" ( a meal in itself) and they told us they make them from scratch every meal. A procession of waiters brought us the ""Fried bananas"", Mashed Potatoes, Rice, Black Beans , etc. I turned my coaster to Green ( GO!!!!) and the race started. Almost like ballet dancers their Gauchos ( Brazilian cowboys) started serving us their delicacies one by one. The first is my favorite, Picanha ( top sirloin and also the house specialty), Baby Beef , Baby Back Ribs, Chicken legs, chicken with Bacon, Filet Mignon, Lamb Rack ( they import them from New Zealand), Beef Ribs, and on and on....By this time I was ready to turn the coaster to RED. I was satisfied. All the cuts were soft, juicy and delicious. Ever since I found their 59 location last year I haven't gone to other steakhouses because I hate to start cutting a sizzling hot steak and by the time I am 1/4 into it, the rest of the steak is already cold. Brazilians must have put a lot of thought to this matter and created the rotating system where they take the steak from the grill and take it immediately to the table and serve it while still hot. Then they put it back again on the fire and keep feeding us until we say stop. In other words, take a small amount, eat it and then wait for the Gaucho to bring more again. I ordered Papaya Cream with Liquor for dessert, and my husband the Creme Brulee. Both were out of this world but my husband raved about the Creme Brulee. The owner ( his name skips my mind), stopped by and chatted for a couple of minutes. We closed the night with a couple of espressos to make sure we wouldn't sleep at the wheel going home. Welcome to the Clear Lake area and we wish you all the success. Pros: Best steak in town Cons: I had a hard time finding restaurant first time there more
