I just called to this company 5 minutes ago (August 11 '09 4:30 PM). One girl received the call very impolitely and hung up the phone even I didn't finished my conversation. I suggest to manager or supervisor who in charge this department, please train that girl about phone receive etiquette and polite attitude for customer. Unless your business will be worse and worse. This is the worst disposal service ever. Working from home on Friday I noticed the trash truck picking up my trash. As I stood there at my door waiting for them to finish, the employee had dropped some trash out of the trash can onto the ground. Instead of picking it up, the employee threw the trash can up against the truck where he then began spitting out the most foul language. He then grabbed the trash can and threw it into my yard. Then he gets back in the truck and leaves. He never even attempted to pick up the mess he made. I immediately called T&C and explained what happened, they contacted the driver who in turn backed-up (approx 4 blocks). The employee who made the mess gets out of the truck and picks up a few pieces of trash, throws them in the back of the truck and then struts back to the truck to the passenger side. The driver gets out and tells me he had no idea what's going on, that he was doing paper work and that the employee is a real good worker... Hmmm... I made the driver pick up every single piece of trash. Further more each time they have dumped my trash they have always left at least 1/4 of the trash still in the can. And they always throw the trash can onto the ground breaking off the wheels. I can't tell you how many times I've had to fix the trash can. Anyway I called a competitor who will give me better service for the same price and a larger trash can... Pros: never again Cons: never again more

I've been using Town & Country since 2002 and have never had any problems. They are on time with their pick ups and are always nice when I call them with questions or to schedule a pick up for large items. One thing that I didn't like a couple of years ago was that they changed their route time without notice, but the sky didn't fall because of it. One thing to remember is that these guys & girls bust their butts in the cold and hot for probably not a whole lot of money in order to feed their familes, so before you write horrible reviews, ask yourself would you want to give up your comfy corner office or cubicle in a climate controlled building to do what they do everyday? The first week we started with this company it went well. The next two weeks they did not pickup our grass clippings. I called and was told the driver said it was not out for them to pickup. It was out both times the day before the scheduled pickup. They were not interested in even trying to see if there was a scheduling error. So I just asked for my money back and there reply was okay! They treated us like we were lying about this. How dumb is that!!! Why would anyone call and complain two weeks in a row if there was really no problem! Very unhappy with this company. I have lived in 2 different cities where I could select using Town & Country Disposal for our trash pick up. They have never missed doing our trash pickup. The customer service people have always been very courteous and pleasant to work with. I find their attention to detail to be excellent. I would recommend them to any of my neighbors. The worst customer service ever. They regularly do not pick up on scheduled days, and take two and three days to pick up. They refuse refunds even though they have not picked up our trash, and their customer service staff is very rude. I signed up to pay 50% more through Defenbaugh only to find out that Defenbaugh had recently sold their routes to Town and Country. If I could find ANY other service in rural Cass county, I would use them. Cons: Customer service, miss pick up days. more

I live just outside of Garden City, MO. We have T&C and had nothing but problems with them. Forgotten pickups, trash left and a broken trash cart that I had to pay a $65 deposit and monthly fees. We finally got another company down in our area (American Waste) for about a year, then American decided to sell their contract to T&C. Now we are stuck with them again. Only good thing is I still am using the new trash cart that American waste had provided. I still end up calling them at least once a month to complain that my trash did not get picked up and am told to just set it out the next week. Gee, they still want all their money quarterly but don't pick up every week. I wish someone else would come down our way again. Cons: Horrible service all the way around. more

Our home owners association uses them and I am trying to get it switched to someone else. They leave everyone's trash cans wherever and sometimes some of the trash too! My biggest issue is with their recycling pick up or lack there of. When we moved in almost three years ago and were excited that they recycled glass, plastic, and paper. We got our bin and the paper telling us how to prepare items. It said wash them out, take lids off and cut plastic rings off bottles, etc. So we did but they did not pick our stuff up. they said that it was not sorted, but no one told us to do that. This kept up for a couple of weeks until some how we got it right. Then no problems until about two weeks ago. We set our recycling out like we have done every week. I came home and in my trash was over half of the recycling items. There was glass and almost all of it was broken, none of it was put out that way, and a bunch of paper boxes and even some plastic items. I called and they said that they don't recycle glass anymore. I asked how their customers were susposed to know this if they did tell them they were no longer going to pick it up. Mindy the rep didn't have an answer to that. I also asked why they had to break all of it again no answer. After waiting on hold for her to find answers for me I hung up and called back. Got a new girl who gave me back to Mindy who said that she talked to the driver who said that all of the stuff they left was could not be recycled. I told it was funny because it was paper and plastic items they have been picking up for years. I also stated that I was not happy with the fact that I had a huge mess of broken glass to clean up that now couldn't be recycled because of their poor handling of items. they didn't seem to care and took the drivers word over the customer who they had no problem telling were wrong and that they didn't care if you were unhappy too bad! I am willing to pay others to come pick up my stuff and their's is free Pros: None!!!! Cons: Would give them a 0 if I could there are too many cons more

This is the worst owned managed company I have ever dealt with. One of their trucks had debris strike my windshield. When I contacted them, they at first would not return my call. When the rude man returned my call, the answer I got was it was ""not my problem"". He refused to give his name, citing himself as the owner, and would not discuss any kind of reconciliation to the problem. I asked for reembursent of less than $50 to repair, not replace my windshield, and he hung up on me. I would never recommend this company based on their horrible customer service and I don't care how well you pick up my trash, if you are at fault, at least own up to it and make it right. more

I specifically appreciate that they pick up trash on every holiday! They are always on time and never leave any trash on the ground. They are pretty good about putting the lid back on our trash can and setting it upright too. I would recommend them. more

I don't know anyone who cares whether their trash service has clean trucks, come on. I would rather have good service than have a horrible company (like Town & Country) who has a clean truck! They forgot to pick up my trash on 2 occasions! The second time I called to complain and they said that the driver put on his sheet that our trash was not out, which I told the lady was not true because I had put the trash out the night before myself!!!!! She told me that she was going to take her drivers word for it! I cancelled my service with them right then. They are horrible, terrible, I can't even say it enough. DO NOT waste your money!!! I would rather gnaw off my arms than work with this company. For two months, they failed to pick up my recycling. I called to find out what the problem is and was told they would call me back. They never did. When I called them back again, they told me that I had to leave the recycling out the night before trash pickup. I did so and the recycling was not picked up again. When I called back, the representative told me that I shouldn't leave the recycling out the night before and proceded to explain that my recycling would be picked up. It wasn't. At no point did anyone there offer an appology for the lack of service. It was as if all the employees there had taken classes to learn how to be exceptionally rude over the phone. I finally found another trash company and cancelled my service with them. They said they'd pick up the trash bin I was renting from them. They did not. When I called to ask when they would pick it up, they told me that I had to leave my trash bin out for up to two weeks. I strongly recommend against using this company. Cons: Horrible Service more

Our home owners association started using them last year. They provided new trash cans (large & heavy) free to all home association members (stays with the home if you move). It works with their trucks and helps them speed up the trask pickup. They have been on time, every time. No problems at all. more

I live in Belton and I am extremely happy with T & C. They are always here on their scheduled day of pick up. Their arrival is usually the same every pick up day. Only once did they arrive super early in the morning and I missed getting the trash out. I recommend T & C as a great trash haulers. more

we have had this service for 4 years and they just get worse and worse. They did not even bother picking up our trash the week of Christmas and then stated they could not come till the next week. It was out the night before and they act like it is my problem that they did not do their job. What do I pay them for???? Cons: don't pick up all the time more

I've ordered two 25 roll-offs from them, as well as weekly service with absoltue no issue. Their staff is prompt and polite and my cans are always left in the same condition I put them in. to those worried about having your cans thrown into your yard, that's because it's better they be on their side, in your yard, then in the street. Pros: Quick. Honest. Cons: After 4 months use and several extra services, none. more

There is no way to avoid them because T&C is contracted by our homeowners association. We have had numerous problems with them. We paid extra for large items to be picked up only for them to leave them there, but they did take the check off our front door that's for sure. I had to call them 3 days in a row to have them promise me they would pick up the large item the next day but they would never show up. Then I asked for a supervisor. Conveniently no one was around so they were supposed to call me back. No surprise that they didn't. There is nothing worse than being ignored. If I had the owners name and number I would call them or send a certified letter. I am not the only one that has complained to our homeowners association. They are trash collectors, I guess we can't expect much. Cons: Their idiots more

Town and Country has left my trash on several occasions and, yes, the bill was paid. Also, they just throw my trash can in the yard when they're done emptying it. They don't care where it lands. I've never seen my neighbor's trash get left and they use a different disposal service. I think I will switch to the company they use. I don't care if it is more expensive. more

As a property / association manager for a large developer, Town & Country is the only disposal service we use. They go the extra mile to offer great customer service to all of our residents in six communities and two commercial. There is no perfect company. Town and Country is the best in their field and I would personally challenge anyone to find a better company. We need them! Pros: They do no destroy trash containers nor do they leave oil spots in front of your house. more
