Tonya Jones Salon

Last night was my first visit to Tonya Jones and it was a fantastic experience! I was greeted by friendly faces and Erin did a great job cutting my hair! She was personable and obviously very talented. I will definitely return! more

The thought that went through my head as my hair was being washing and my neck massaged was that this was not just a hair-cut. It was an experience. I received a gift card for a friend so I had never been to this salon before. I will most definitely be returning. I love my new hair-cut! Thank you for a wonderful time!! more

The color & cut was great as always, but service today was a little less professional than normal....maybe just one of those days as we all have them. Seemed to be a little slower than normal. They were supposed to have scheduled a brow wax, which was never mentioned (and I didn't mention due to the fact that the extra time was running me late to another scheduled appointment). Then I received a call that they had billed my credit card for too much and wanted to know if they could just credit it to my next appointment? This is not the normal level of service I receive at this salon. Like I said, just a bit off balance. But I still believe this is the best salon in Birmingham. more

I came into Tonya Jones SalonSpa very excited. I had purchased a groupon to recieved discounted services and I need a good trim and some highlights. The woman that did my hair was really nice and easy to talk to, but to say that I left looking frightful, is a true understatement. All of the customers in the salon were giving me the, "What the hell just happened to her" look. Even the owner Tonya Jones approached me saying, "Yeah your hair looks terrible" I then stood in line for 30 minutes trying to find their "approved" version of my groupon. I had a receipt on my phone but that was not good enough. Finally they told me, "Well I guess we will just assume that you bought the groupon. Just make sure to call us back with the correct information." I felt like I was being accused of lying about the groupon while I was standing there looking like I just got my fingers stuck in a light socket. Also, most of the hairdressers who passed me, touched my hair, and then would whisper about how I should not have to pay. Then other people would whisper back saying, "She wont let me give her a discount" It was just all a really embarrassing mess that was taken care of really poorly by the owner/staff. I will never go to this salon again, and I would never recommend a friend to go to this salon. more

There are lots of hair stylists to choose from, each with their own strengths. The hair wash/neck massage is terrific, warm head and hand cloth is just the thing to relax you for a moment.
