Worst Manicure Ever! 10/21/2011

I would not recommend this place for nail services. The Manicurist cut my nails so short they hurt, and was so rough on my cuticles that they bled. It was also pretty pricey considering there was no massage or scrub included in the service. more

Best cut in a long time 10/18/2011

Straight, lifeless hair is how I went in, sculpted, and up to date is how I left! Tonya is a genius with a razor! I can't believe all the texture and body I have after she used the razor to cut my hair. It makes all the difference in world, instead of being frustrated when styling my hair, now I look forward to it because I know it's going to behave and look great when I'm finished. Thin hair? Try a razor cut! more

I made an appointment because my normal haircutter was on vacation and I really needed a cut. My wife has come here a few times now, and my daughter comes to get her eyebrows done. So I took the chance. Theo was very professional. He gave me exactly the kind of men's cut I was looking for. I would definitely recommend him. Everyone I have met or my wife has tole me about have been utmost professionals. No one just out of cosmetology schools. Yes it does cost more than strip mall salons. But the difference is worth it. more

Theo is an incredibly talented stylist. He cuts my hair exactly how I describe or as pictures I show him. He also has an pleasant personality. I had the best shampoo...I wish I could remember her name. She gave me the best head and neck massage. I highly recommend the whole Tanya Jones Salon experience. They are such professionals! more

I'd written a review on an earlier date regarding the pricing of my service. I'd forgotten to mention the details of the particular pricing: basically at my first visit, I was charged exactly $50 for a shampoo/heat style. At my second visit, I was charged $80 for the exact same service with the addition of a 3-minute relaxer on just the hairline area above my ears-most salons won't even charge for that, especially if you're already paying $50 (+gratuity). The manager was thoughtful enough to respond to my concern, only to insult me with false information and imply that I should have referred to the chart at the register that lists a few of the services at their minimum prices. So, as I stated before, the prices are completely arbitrary and are sometimes unjustifiable. The manager apologized for my dissatisfaction but took no interest in amending or resolving the matter. Based on other reviews, it looks as though good customer service is given on a case-by-case basis. That's very unfortunate. It's best to give business to establishments that value ALL of their paying customers. Visit at your own risk... more

This was the second time I had been to this salon. The first time was excellent. Cindy took great care of me. She made me feel like a million dollars. This time it was awful. Cindy was off, so I decided to try someone else because I really needed a cut. Its hard for me to get in because of my schedule so I decided to take a chance. This particular hairstylist barely said anything to me. She did not massage my scalp/neck for long at all. I felt very uncomfortable with her. She barely cut any hair off and the style did not look good. I do not think it was worth $55. more

Good Service, Poor Business 10/3/2011

I've been serviced at this salon on two occasions. I had the same stylist both times; she's great at her work and I was quite satisfied with my results. However, at my second visit, I was charged an additional $30 more than the 1st visit, for the exact same service, only this time she added a relaxer to my hairline to prep for the styling, a 5 minute process that wasn't even effectual. The receptionist also told me the stylist had graduated to the next level of 'styling' and raised her prices. Seems to me I would have been informed of that prior to servicing. All in all, I guess there's no need for a price chart because the pricing is completely arbitrary so be prepared for surprise at the register. You'd also think the stylist would have followed up with me at some point, but then again, some people just don't take the kind of pride in there work/business that includes caring about their clients. Due to this lack of structure and understanding what a particular service is worth, I won't be returning or referring. more

All staff was professional and the spa has a very inviting atmosphere. I was amazed that I received my services during my lunch hour and did not spend 4-5 hours in the salon! I will return and will refer friends! more

Most I have ever paid for a haircut! 9/23/2011

Wow! I loved my haircut and the prompt service I received. But, I was expecting to pay around $50.00. for a shampoo, cut, and blow out. It was $85.00! Yikes! More than I care to spend. Should have asked "How much do you charge?" more

Worst work enviornment for assistants! 9/22/2011

I really feel sorry for the employees at this establishment; especially the assistants to Tonya (OWNER). It is not very often that you are able to find decent people that you trust and enjoy learning from. Tonya should be absolutely ashamed of her behavior toward her assistants. What a miserable place for them to work and learn! I can't begin to express how below low you can get in dealing with these poor individuals that she is willing to go. They deserve a reasonable work enviornment at the very very least. Unfortunately Tonya is unable to provide that to them. She is so blinded by money that she has lost all respect for the very ones that are making money for her. She better step back and swallow a large dose of reality! If everyone knew the truth they would never visit this salon!!!!!!! The best of luck to her poor employees! Still looking for a decent work enviornment ? Think twice! more
