They're known for their brunch buffet. It's so worth the price! They offer everything and it's all you can eat!

Worst

This is the first time I have been prompted to review. A girlfriend and I decided to head to Tony P's for a late afternoon meal. It was not crowded so we found seats in the bar i...

Lost Opportunity: Awful food at one of the better views in LA 8/5/2007

While the ambiance of Tony P's is quite special, especially sitting outside facing the marina, the food is far from special. The bread was stale, over buttered with a faux garlic flavor. The tuna entree, we ordered seared and we couldn't have been more grossed out by the quality of the fish. It was stinky, fatty and off-colored. The chicken entree tasted like a breast out of a frozen bag. It had a decent bar-b-q sauce but not homemade and it really just covered up the poor texture of the chicken. We left incredibly disappointed and will not eat here again. Pros: View Cons: Awful food more

Gorgeous view, tastey food 7/20/2007

The first time I went there, I went there for dinner on a random night and was pleasantly surprised to be seated out on the deck right on the water. If you love boats and the water, you'll love the view. It was gorgeous to look outside as the sun set. The food itself isn't fine dinning, but it's certainly good tasting. It's your standard fish, veggies, and potato meal. All around satisfying. Our waiter was friendly and fun. What I thought was going to be a quick bite to eat turned out to be a wonderful dinner experience. Pros: View, service, food more

Casual restaurant with a fabulous view 7/8/2007

If you live say... across the street, you can't beat this place. I wouldn't say the food is 'fine dining' but then again Tony P's isn't trying to be. The food is average, but what really makes this place stand out is the outside patio where patrons can sit and enjoy brunch/lunch/dinner while watching the yachts make their way around the marina. The atmosphere is wonderful, lots of families and couples just here to have a good time. We often meet up with friends to enjoy a cocktail in the bar or grab a bite on the patio. I highly recommend the pork chops and cobb salad. Pros: Good value, waterfront patio, service is usually good Cons: food is average more

Average food and bad customer service 2/18/2007

So after reading all the great reviews, I decided to trek to Marina Del Rey from Hollywood to enjoy a nice night out with my girlfriend. Boy, did I have another thing coming. To say the customer service was ""average"" is an understatement. It was obvious the waitress had too many tables to handle which hindered her ability to provide the basic necessities (i.e. water). And the food? Well, that is another sore subject. My girlfriend asked for her filet ""medium well"" and it came out ""medium rare."" So she asked to have the meat cooked a little longer and to our disappointment it came back burnt on the outside and still bloody on the inside. The steak was pretty much a lost cause at this point. In the meantime, my food had turned cold while waiting for my girlfriend's meat to be re-cooked and I had asked to have it reheated. But as you would have guessed, this led to another disappointment. They warmed up my meat but left my veggies and mashed potatoes cold as the ocean water. Needless to say, the customer service never redeemed itself. We would ask for our check and decide to head home for the night. more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER 12/18/2006

THE WAIT STAFF WAS WONDERFUL, HOWEVER THE OWNER CHOSE TO ADDRESS A CONCERN WITH INSENSITIVE RUDENESS. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS RESTAURANT. Pros: ALL PROS WERE OVERSHADOWED BY THE CONS Cons: LACK OF RESPECT, RUDE. more

Best restaurant in the marina 11/18/2006

This is my favorite place to take people. Sit on the patio (which is covered and heated in the winter/at nights) and watch the boats while you eat the clam chowder in a breadbowl, or sit in the bar and watch football, baseball or any other sport with all the sports fans. Don't forget to order the No Bones About It, the best appetizer on the menu. Ask for a basket of bread, you won't regret taking in those carbs! Great place for a date or to take people new to town. Pros: Ambiance, Service, Food Cons: Parking is Valet when it isn't necessary more

GREAT TV SETUP. GREAT PLACE TO HANG!! 10/30/2006

This is the new place for me!! They are friendly, the service is great, the sports on TV is exactly what you want to watch. They actually have the packages unlike other local places. The food is good and the prices are reassnable. This is my new hangout with friends and the occasional family member. Great view of the Marina, and just a good place overall to relax and enjoy friends! HIGHLY RECOPMMEND!! Pros: GREAT SPOSRTS PKG, GREAT AMBIANCE, GREAT SERVICE Cons: NONE I KNOW OF! more

Great Ambiance 10/19/2006

Just went out to dinner there this past Wednesday. Service was awesome. Everyone was so friendly and the food was Awesome! I had the Tilapia with rice and veggies! Basically melted in my mouth! Pros: Awesome View, Great Food, Great Service! Cons: Valet Parking more

Great place to watch sports, Best appetizers around in the Marina 9/17/2006

Gotta love the bar at Tony P's. They've got a solid beer selection, and man oh man, they've got tv's out the wazzu. Prices aren't great, but they're fine, and considering you're watching several games at the same time, it's really a great place to go. Here's a tip though, the entrees are just fine, not outstanding. However, they have some of the best appetizers in town. My recommendation is to go with a few friends and order a bunch of appetizers at the same time. Also order the Newcastle they have on tap, two words...muy bueno. Pros: TVs and Apps, during football season what more do you need Cons: They make you valet sometimes more

The waiter who will avoid you at all cost 7/28/2006

I must fisrt state that I love Tony P's for breakfast during the NFL season! Katherine and the morning crew are awesome! Unfortunatley this cannot be said for the sunday afternoon, outdoor patio crew. Let's start with the food. Pros: Sunday Morning brekafast and wait staff are awesome. The banana pancakes are great and cofee refills just keep coming! Cons: Outside patio wait staff will avoid you, refills? NO! Service? Non existent. Avoid the patio that sits near the water as you will not get any type of service more

good chowder, bad alfredo 7/27/2006

Order the clam chowder, it's very tasty. Stay away from the Alfredo, it's possibly the worst one i've had (& how can you go wrong on alfredo?). Breadsticks are yummy if you are a salt fan like me. Overall okay. Pros: chowder, great service Cons: chicken alfredy more

Great place for relaxing lunch on the water in Marina del Rey 7/1/2006

Tony P's Dockside Grill gets better and better everytime I go there. I keep trying the new stuff on the menu, like hummus and babaganoush; the fresh fish specials never disappoint. What I like about this place is the relaxed friendly atmosphere - easy going atmosphere, and gazing out over all the pretty boats in the Marina. Pros: views, relaxed, casual more

Great Place! 4/6/2006

Fun atmosphere and friendly service make this Marina del Rey sports restaurant a Great Place! Pros: Friendly service, Fun atmosphere, Convenient location more

A nice place in a snobby neighborhood 10/31/2005

Tony Ps was the first place that we ate once we moved to the west coast from Chicago. We found the food there to be adequate, prices ok, and the wait staff pleasant. Since then, after having joined the Tony Ps club, it has become our favorite restaurant. The stand out dish for an appetizer must be the Clam Chowder the best I have ever had anywhere. They also have a great low-card menu if that is what you are into. Occasionally one can catch Tony mingling with his guests. Talk about a personality he is fun to talk to, and run a great place. Kudos to all. Pros: Great Ambience, Friendly, Good Location Cons: Weekend Parking, Sometimes Loud more

Do you want good food or a view? 10/17/2005

If you want to eat overpriced, below average food surrounded by singles in their 20's who want to get drunk on shots and drinks with umbrellas in them, this is your place. If you want to send up a signal flare to get the waitress' attention, this is your place. If you want a wine list that is more suited to a Subway sandwich shop, this is your place. If you want to look out at a bunch of boats in the marina, this is your place. If, on the other hand you want a good meal with nice ambiance, good service, decent drinks and a wine list with wines that are worth drinking, Tony P's is definitely NOT your place. more

Best Views On The Waterfront in Marina del Rey 6/30/2005

Tony P's Dockside Grill has become a local landmark in Marina del Rey. It is a fun, relaxed, casual restaurant right on the waterfront, with fantastic views of the marina. Owners Tony and Danny work the room and get to know their customers. I like the daily fresh fish entrees and their big salads, but the other day I ordered hummus and baba ganoush for appetizers and drinks for fun, and another day I got the new BBQ on the menu. Good decent selection of white wines, not too expensive. Oh, wait until you taste the home made hot rolls they serve you before your meal. It's like something your grandmother would have cooked for you. It's family friendly, too. Next to the restaurant is a tavern known for its 28 sports screens, easy going, good for gals and guys - no hassles. Pros: Parking, Prices, Waterfront Views Cons: Inside dining area not as interesting as the covered deck more

User review by turekl 6/19/2005

Whenever we come to S. Cal. the first place we go is Tony P's. Why? Because we can't get enough of the great food, super friendly service and the view of the marina is to die for. We love to take our LA clients there because they always treat us like we are special and that goes a long way when you're entertaining guests. We love you Tony P's!!!! Linda and George more

Best sports bar in LA! 6/14/2005

To call Tony P's a sports bar is an injustice. They do have a ridicules number of high def TV's showing every game imaginable, and the have set the bar up to accommodate the thirsty sports fans, but the patio overlooking the Marina and unreal food transcends anything you will ever find a mere ""sports bar"". Normally if you get you wife to go to sports bar in means she also gets the credit card for an afternoon, Tony's is the place she'll enjoy as much as you will. Pros: Food is great, The staff are cool, The set up of the bar Cons: I wish they stayed op more

Tony P's is Fun (and the food's good too) 6/13/2005

Whenever we ask our kids where they want to eat, or when we have company in from out of town, they request Tony P's. We love to look out on the Marina during dinner and the food is great. No Bones About It, the kid's mac 'n cheese, fish 'n chips, sandwiches... so fabulous. I've never had a bad meal there and have a hard time choosing.... go eat there. Pros: Owner!, Food, View more

Great place for a good meal and a fun sprots bar 5/13/2005

Great steaks and fish and chips, with a varied menu and the best sports bar in town. more
