This is the first time I have been prompted to review. A girlfriend and I decided to head to Tony P's for a late afternoon meal. It was not crowded so we found seats in the bar immediately! We were waited on promptly. Great service from our intial waitress, Kazia ( thanks!) The crabcake appetizer was great...the mango salsa made it. So we spent about 70 bucks on 2 appetizers and 2 drinks a piece. Plus a nice tip! Well the tide changed when NBA finals game time came. It was a $10 cover to sit in the same spot and watch a ""free"" TV event on THEIR TVs. We were told there was no way we could save a seat for another girlfriend who was on the way and about to pay her $10! They were about to seat another couple at our 4 seat table! We were then told by a new waitress that we needed to give her credit card...you know...just in case we got drunk during the game and walked out without paying!!! Well needless to say after spending $70+ there, we refused. Within a few minutes, the host ""Patrick"" and our previous waitress came over. The new waitress dropped us, just that quickly. We were told we needed to leave the card. We were also told that there was no bad food at Tony P's ( an unsolicited comment from Patrick) and if we thought it was bad then we might want to head to one of the other establishments along Admiralty, because Tony P's must not suit our pallette!! WHAT THE.....???? ( See comment above..crabcakes were actually good...the rest of the food ( quesadilla; fish and chips) were edible but very bland! So I guess they go into a totally different mode when attempting to pull in the extra money for the special games! Service was great and friendly during the 2 hours we spent in the bar before the game. But after paying the $10 cover, we were assumed to be check-skipping, complaining, unhappy patrons...
Pros: One waitress, Kazia, the crabcakes, the cocktails!
Cons: The host , the second waitress, game seating arrangement, game cover charge!
