Tom from Tom's Appliance did not bring the proper tools with him to diagnose the problem for our refrigerator stating that he doesn't use diagnostics so he would need to call the Manufacturer the next morning only after I insisted on a diagnostic, and that he would download the manual and he promised to call me the next day to schedule a follow up appt. I waited days for him to call so I finally called him back on the 5th day to have the answering service tell me that he would not be returning my call since he was not going to come back out. He did absolutely absolutely NOTHING to help, was RUDE and never followed through with anything. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND HIM!! Looking back I actually recognized him from another service call over 10 years earlier and remembered saying back then I WOULD NEVER USE HIM AGAIN so some things never change!... more

STAY AWAY FROM TOM'S!!!! 2/24/2009

This company doesn't return phone calls and doesn't keep appointments. I understand having to set aside blocks of time (i.e., 8am-12pm or 12pm-5pm, etc.) for a service call, but when I have given up half of my day to wait for you to show up, do me a favor and SHOW UP! If I can't trust this guy to show up or return my phone calls, how in the world am I expected to trust this guy to fix a major appliance in my HOME???? more

We had a Whirlpool washer which was covered under warranty. Whirlpool had set up a appointment for the repair on a Tuesday. When he showed up he ask where was the refrigerator? I told him its a washer. He said Whirlpool told him a refrigerator, that he did not have the part to fix the washer and will be back next Tuesday to fix it. It turned out my wife had a doctors appointment that day so we called him a total of five times to find out what time he would be at our house. He did not return a single call. We called Whirlpool to see if he would respond to them and you guessed it! He did not reply to both calls and two emails they had sent to him. On the day he was suppose to show up...well you guessed it again! We called him and once again our calls went unanswered, Whirlpool tried to call him as well. So we went with Appliance Service Center who normally dose not go out to the area we live in but made the special trip after hearing our story. Now that is the local style that I grew up with. more

Cold Showers 11/18/2005

We all know that at 7 pm, we do not want to have to take a cold shower. Well, for the last month or so, that's what me and my family had to do. Our water heater was acting funny, so I called Toms and within a couple of days, someone came out to look at the heater. They immediately knew what had to be done, so they ordered the part and came back out to fix it. They were quick to fix it and now we have hot water. Hooray! From the receptionist to the repairman, everyone was very helpful. more
