Best

this is by far one of my favourite food ever! The baby back ribs at tom Jenkins are so delicious tender and juicy.

Worst

As I was forced to patronized this establishment by a friend whom visited there the day before. I enjoyed the taste of the sauce at Tom Jenkins Barbeque, the ribs were just Averag...

BBQ sauce is the best! Nice atmosphere that reminds me of all that was good of the old South. All sides are great! Surprised by the diversity of the clientele. -Never knew everyone ate Collard greens and cornbread. First visit was the during summer of '09. more

The food was good, and the price was right. My only complaint is that the girl who took the order behind the counter was text messaging. We asked for 2 drinks but her text messaging was more important than getting our order right. I also asked for BBQ sauce and one of the guys said it was in our carry out box with an attitude! The BBQ sauce wasn't there and had to ask for it again. Again the food was good but the text messaging while taking our order kind of turned me off! more

The best way to judge a small place is to go there during the lunch rush. I have been going to Tom Jenkins for the past 10 years. I have never not waited in a line of about 15 people during the lunch rush. I think they have about 10 picnic style tables in the whole joint which are always full. They are always busy. If the food was so bad why are there so many people going there? I don't mind if you don't go that way I have a shorter line to wait in. But if you do go make sure you get the Potato Salad and Hush Puppies too. The only bad thing about this place is that they are closed Sunday for Church and Monday for Fishing. more

Better than I expected my goodness the baked beans were better than my mom's and that says alot. The coleslaw better than kfc's and the chopped pork sandwhich was out of this world. Cute family style place. more

Food is good but the young girl and older lady at the counter act Like there doing you a favor by serving you. They must be related more

Get the ribs. They are delicious. Also, the baked beans, mac and cheese and french fries are very good. We also tried the "chopped brisket" which was flavorful but overly fatty. The seating area is small but cutely decorated with a mixture of early 20fh century Americana replicas and Motown memorabilia. The restrooms are clean. We will be visiting again. more

I love the cornbread and all the sides! The greens are awesome, the beans are to die for, and if you haven't tried Tom Jenkins yet you should! more

My favorite BBQ in south Florida! Usually grab for take out..call ahead to avoid the enfamous line. The collard greens and mac and cheese are a must! more

Jack's BBQ on East Oakland Park Blvd by far has the BEST BBQ in a variety of choices, chicken, pork, beef and the side dishes melt in your mouth. Tom Jenkins I tried twice and was not impressed! Believe me I know food...Nuff Said! more

For some, it may seem strange to wait in a line and order from a window at a BBQ restuarant. Floridians, this is the way BBQ is done. Service is minimal, everything is on styrofoam- but the food is outstanding. Why don't we have more of this in S. Florida? I come from one of the BBQ meccas (K.C.), and I am constantly looking for places to try. This is the best one yet! more

This is the type of BBQ that you have when you know Uncle so-and-so is on the grill, or your homeboy's wife is making the sauce or your favorite Auntie made the Potato Salad and Macaroni an Cheese.\r \r Yeah, the word "comfort food" is a cliche, but can you think of a better word to describe it. \r \r I had the 1/2 Chicken and my girl had the Sliced Beef platter.\r \r We sad. We ate. We forgot where were were. It was that good. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 3/22/2009

This the REAL DEAL. Nothing fancy here. Just plain ole great BBQ! Prices are reasonable. Not a lot of available seating, so take it to go, but you're not there for the ambiance! more

the best ever! 3/4/2009

It DOES compare to BBQ in Austin and Memphis! It's damn good! And if you smile at the staff, they'll smile back. They work hard and they work fast. Not sure how the service "stinks". You pay your money, get your food, say thanks, and go (or sit at a picnic table to eat if you can't wait to get home). It's a BBQ joint, not the 21 club! more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 2/3/2009

Bad Azz Chef pretty much nails it with his review below. \r \r While the food can't compare to real BBQ you'd get in Memphis or Austin, TX, it is the best you can do in Broward County. \r \r The line is often long and the service stinks, but if you are jonesing for some BBQ, this is your best option. more
