Best

this is by far one of my favourite food ever! The baby back ribs at tom Jenkins are so delicious tender and juicy.

Worst

As I was forced to patronized this establishment by a friend whom visited there the day before. I enjoyed the taste of the sauce at Tom Jenkins Barbeque, the ribs were just Averag...

Quite simply, the BEST barbecue in Broward County. I have been a resident here for 30 years, and I have tried them all. more

Terrible customer service. Tonight we ordered over the phone, picked up our meal and drove home. Our order was completely wrong. When we called back, the phone clerk told me " you should check your order before you leave." can you believe that? I'm sorrry, but I'm not an employee of Tom Jenkins. On top of this, we opened the peach cobblers, one had burned crust, I mean burned. We will NEVER order from them again. more

We visited this restaurant based on a recommendation for a family-friendly restaurant. It reminded me a lot of little barbecue joints you'll find in small towns throughout Texas. That being said, the only other thing this place has in common with Texas barbecue is that it cooks barbecue.\r \r We had three dishes, all of which had good sized meat portions with plentiful sides. The pork ribs were probably the best of the three meat dishes, but it's pork, which is always delicious. The sauce was a good tomato-based sauce with a little spiciness. The chicken was most and delicious, which is a testament to good barbecuing. I had a little problem, however, with the brisket. It appears that Tom Jenkin's cuts the brisket into small pieces before smoking the meat. The result is that the meat probably cooks faster but lacks the slow-cooked, smoky taste of quality brisket. The other result was that the brisket cooled faster than any other dish. I have no reservations about any of the sides. The corn, corn muffins, potato salad, and mac'n'cheese were all VERY delicious. Overall, a really good place to eat. more

Don't bother. Big hype for no reason. more

"Just eh" It wasn't bad...it wasn't good. They don't have a bunch of good homestyle sides. I don't have anything "bad" to say but I won't be back. more

A local recommended it many years ago and I have been a regular ever since, The ribs are just excellent and the mac and cheese is my favorite side, cole slaw is also very good. I always have the sweetened iced tea. more

My family and I have been going to Tom Jenkins for about ten years, and we're not BBQ connoisseurs, but we know good food, and TJ's food tastes great!! Love the chicken, sliced beef, mac n' cheese, collards, cornbread and lemonade, too. Also, I've never, ever, had bad service. That's probably because I am very nice to the staff for their service and excellent food, and I don't have a pretentious attitude! I consider TJ's a Ft. Lauderdale gem and they deserve our graciousness for what they offer. more

Tom Jenkins knows Bar-B-Q as he calls it. The smoke their meat right on the premises and, when you leave you'll be smoked too! The food is great, the help is eclectic to say the least. The prices are good and the BBQ is pretty darn tasty. Again, this is my second BBQ review of the night and I wouldn't go so far as to say that this is the best BBQ I've ever had, but it was definitely worth a visit and I would recommend it. Credit Cards accepted. Just be sure to wear something you don't mind getting stinky with the smoke. Recommended. more

This is probably the best BBQ I have ever eaten. From the ribs to the brisket to the chicken to the collard greens to the cornbread-- Tom Jenkins does everything right!\r \r I want to move back to Fort Lauderdale just so I can eat here regularly again.....yeah, it's that good! more

The best Bar-B-Q i have had in south Florida. It's customer service was simple, but effective. The food portion where perfect, you don't over eat but you defenrily get full. more

This is some great BBQ. The huge smoker inside adds the best flavor to the pork, chicken and ribs but be prepared to leave smelling like smoke! I love the homemade lemonade but it's a bit expensive for a glass. The sides are good most of the time, but inconsistent. Mac-n-cheese and collard greens are sometimes bland. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 7/22/2010

Tom Jenkins has the best chopped pork I've ever had. Smoked and grilled perfectly. more

Must have the sweet tea! Just like grandma used to make. Great food too, they catered my wedding. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 6/28/2010

GREAT food done right for a good price . Only downside is the minimal seating and because they are really smoking the meat it can get a little smoky inside. However it's the best BBQ in town and they do take out!!! more

I've eaten BBQ at all the great locations around the country: Kansas City, Memphis, Texas, Carolinas, etc.. etc... When i moved to South Florida, I figured I had pretty much given up getting quality BBQ. I actually learned of Tom Jenkins on an automotive enthusiast forum, and I am SO glad I did. No, the place isn't fancy, and yes the counter folks have a bit of an attitude, but really-who gives a damn? The BBQ is so good, the place is constantly packed! Being that busy would give pretty much anyone an attitude. As long as the BBQ is as phenomenal as it is, I'll take a little attitude with my ribs, thank you very much.\r \r Long Live Tom Jenkins BBQ! more

If you are looking for some of the best "Q" in the State (Actually, I think there's better in Micanopy at Pearl's Country Store) than TJ's is your place. \r \r Just be forewarned..There is huge attitude behind that counter. The posters, who are mentioning this, are absolutely right! Do they think they are doing u a favor? Pretty damn close to it. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 3/2/2010

t jenkins is where its at. Good food, down home atmosphere. Not your regular restaurant, but not your regular BBQ either. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 2/22/2010

The food here is good, but you simply can't give 5 stars to a self-service place with picnic benches. The BBQ is very good; the sides are pedestrian. more
