We visited this restaurant based on a recommendation for a family-friendly restaurant. It reminded me a lot of little barbecue joints you'll find in small towns throughout Texas. That being said, the only other thing this place has in common with Texas barbecue is that it cooks barbecue.\r \r We had three dishes, all of which had good sized meat portions with plentiful sides. The pork ribs were probably the best of the three meat dishes, but it's pork, which is always delicious. The sauce was a good tomato-based sauce with a little spiciness. The chicken was most and delicious, which is a testament to good barbecuing. I had a little problem, however, with the brisket. It appears that Tom Jenkin's cuts the brisket into small pieces before smoking the meat. The result is that the meat probably cooks faster but lacks the slow-cooked, smoky taste of quality brisket. The other result was that the brisket cooled faster than any other dish. I have no reservations about any of the sides. The corn, corn muffins, potato salad, and mac'n'cheese were all VERY delicious. Overall, a really good place to eat.
