Very disappointing! First course: Cesar salad drowning in dressing. A good and tasty dressing but far too much of it. Second, an eggplant rollatine that was charred black. For main: a shrimp and scallop risotto that was oven warmed to rubbery perfection. (sarcasm intended). Waiter assumed all food was liked but failed to notice salad and entree were not even consumed! All and all a poor showing. Making matters worse, the owner inquired of every table around us about the food and never even bothered to ask us! Go elsewhere!! more

Ate here on a Tuesday night on a whim as I've seen it on the Miami Restaurant Power Rankings blog. When your first bite leaves you speechless, you know you've found a winner. My wife and I shared a well-presented and delicious blue crab and avocado baby field greens salad and moving on to garganelli pasta with slow braised lamb shoulder ragu. Add in a blue crab ravioli with orange and citrus sauce that was so good. Every bite from start to finish, was accompanied by the words,"Wow" and "MMM" and "OHHH" The ultimate foodgasm! The presentation was outstanding.\r Our server was a bit slow and the wine list, while extensive, was a bit pricey for glass and bottle selections. Reservations are a must on the weekend. more

Beautiful and tasty food...... the best in town!!! PERIOD!!!! more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 8/27/2010

I went on a Saturday night. Place was packed. Decently nice setting. Most customers were in their 40's to 60's.\r \r Ordered a Skirt Steak medium. Taste was OK but meat was too chewy. Presentation was excellent but the fries were EXTREMELY SALTY, to the point that it was painful to eat them. Something like this should not happen in a restaurant of this supposed quality.\r \r The Desserts were great. more

Wonderful Food and Service Italian Style 6/22/2010

I loved this restaurant. The service is stellar - friendly without being intrusive, and our waiter had a good understanding of the wine list as well as the menu. I had the $75. tasting menu, and each of the four courses was amazing. Probably my least favorite was the duck confit agnolotti - the pasta was a tad chewy - but the flavors of the broth and the duck complemented each other nicely. The wine list is extensive with at least one good choice at each price point. \r \r It was the perfect restaurant for our celebratory dinner, and had we opted for a less expensive bottle of wine, would have been only moderately expensive. A fine place it is. Pros: Excellent service with knowledgeable staff Cons: No view! more

Tonight will be my third night in a row having dinner at Timo. I am in town hosting clients at a conference and the food, wine and service are so good I can't resist sharing with all of my party. The branzino, tuna, and sea bass are tremendous and the mushroom risotto and gnocchi are off the hook! Priced right and great atmosphere? What's not to love? more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 3/18/2010

The food was a disappointment for two of the three persons having dinner. Spaghetti with seafood (fruitti di mare) included nothing fresh except the clams and perhaps the two little pieces of octopus. The scallops and shrimp which were not abundant were definitely previously frozen (maybe frozen fresh) and flavorless. The pasta was overcooked, the rather plain tomato sauce was nothing special except for being salty. If this is an Italian restaurant you'd never know it by this dish. Another member of the dinner party ordered the yellowtail snapper, which was overcooked and flavorless with boring pasta shells on the side. Everything else on that plate (which included crab meat) was plain and uninteresting. The third party ordered quail and gnocchi which was the best of the three dinners, well made with special seasoning and some attention to details. In general, this kind of food does not merit approximately $25 per plate. Service was OK, ambiance OK, bread and bread sticks OK. No one was interested in dessert after the lackluster meals. Won't go back again. more

Very sophisticated menu. Somebody put a lot of thought and passion behind it. It's a pity to see, that ill mannered stuff can undermine such effort. Feel sorry for Philippe, but even more for the Chef. more

Food - Quality\r Menu - Fresh and ever changing\r Favorites - Many and even if they are taken off the menu, enough requests for a particular dish returns the dish, for a while. After all. the menu keeps minor changes coming so that it is always fresh.\r Service - Professional\r Atmosphere - Charming\r Clientle - mostly steadies and deserved. more

I used to enjoy Timo, but on successive visits the staff has become rude. Today, a weeknight, I invvited five other executives to come directly from work for an expense account dinner. We arrived at 5:45, the door was locked. A women came to the door to say they were closed and busy having a meeting. We asked if we could make a reservation for when they opened at 6 p.m. for the six of us, all standing there in suits and ties. We were treated like it was a major inconvenience, even though she brought out her reservation book and it was nearly empty. We watched from outside as four staffers sat around the bar and did nothing. One fooed around with a lap top computer. The women who greeted us was so offensive and uninviting that I finally gave in to my colleagues request to go to Morton's, after we waited past 6 p.m. and no one still came to the door to let us in. I was quite embarrassed, and needless to say 6 executives and everyone they know will never return. more

Great Dinner Choice 1/14/2007

This is a very good restaurant. The service is superb. A nice menu with choices ranging from salads, small plates, pizza, and meat and fish entres. We went on a Saturday night and the place was packed (I took that as a good sign) but the servers were still very attentive. There was a great wine selection as well. This is even a good place to come as a group..... Although you will need reservations. If you are looking for a good place to have dinner in the area, Timo is it. more

Great food and nice ambiance 11/4/2006

On friends recommendation, we tried Timo in Sunny Isles, we loved the pizzas and most of the appetizers were really delicious, the only low note was concerning our server pushing the ´specials´ beyond our comfort zone. Great wine list with small production wines, we had a South African chenin blanc, that was special.\r We recommend Timo, and certainly be back! Pros: food and decor Cons: serive and location more

Cute and nice 10/30/2006

We got to try Timo, and we liked it. It was friendly and the service was attentive. We also enjoyed the nice wine list and the bar before the dinner.\r The wood fired pizza oven proved to be a sightseeing point into the restaurant lounge and the atmosphere was quite nice throught the evening. Very good. more
