Best

I recently attended a friend's rehersal dinner in their patio tent. The decorations were beautiful and the view of the golf course was amazing! Very impressed.

Within the past few months I have been to the Stockpot Broiler during evening hours on the weekend. Service was great even during the busier times. I started coming to the S...

Old school business lunch 10/23/2006

This place reminds me of where 1970's business men met for lunch, smoked a few cigs and then a few rounds of golf. Think dark wood, everywhere.\r Staff if very inconsistent - from inexperienced new folk to older excellent servers. Food is also what you would expect, good but very heavy. My guess is this is a spot for regulars who have been working in and around Tigard-Beaverton for years, not someplace you would take a date.\r I find their salads are excellent, especially the chicken caeser. more

service? 8/14/2006

I didn't like it at all. We went on a slow weeknight and the place was empty (that should have been a clue). However, that didn't prevent the servers from ignoring us. I won't be back. more

wonderful food in a relaxing atmosphere ! 8/5/2006

We took out of town guests knowing they would be impressed. Four different entrees were ordered , no disappointments . Steaks came exactly as ordered . The wine list is impressive to say the least . If you have room don""t miss dessert. To sum up :great place to have a leisurely meal in a restaurant that never misses the mark . more

A Sure Thing! The Stockpot Broiler! 7/17/2006

Last week I was visiting Portland on business and I wanted to impress my clients with a nice meal in a town I hadn't explored yet. Lost for where to take them I inquired with the concierge at my hotel and without hesitation The Stockpot Broiler was at the top of the list. On their word, I made the reservations and hoped for the best. What we got was more then just tremendous service in a beautiful country club setting and a five star meal I wont soon forget...We left wishing a Stockpot Broiler was in every town we traveled to! Our server was exceptional and her level of professionalism was first class. The suggestions she made for our meal and wine were pared beautifully and to top the night off she brought the chef over to introduce himself to our table! I don't often write reviews for establishments I visit on business but this experience was so close to perfect that I wanted to extend a heartfelt ""Thank you"" in a way that truly expressed my gratitude. If only I could impress my clients on every coast with a sure thing like The Stockpot Broiler. Thanks again for your exceptional hospitality and a fabulous night out! more

Wonderful food and service everytime!! 6/21/2006

This restaurant is awesome! We had seafood and steak for dinner and it was very well prepared and presented. Our service was great as always... we can always count on the freshest foods and nice cuts of meats. This is a very classy place to take the entire family anytime of year! Hands down this place rocks the house. Pros: Food, Service and View more

The Salt Lick 6/2/2006

They should change the name of this place to ""The Salt Lick."" I'm one of those people who generally adds salt to everything--but I learned years ago to taste first. Alas, that did no good here. I tatsed, added nothing, and simply could not eat this food. Which is a shame, because the steak was obviously a good cut of meat. By Portland standards, service was okay--which is to say, inattentive but not totally absent. The ambience isn't great--it's basically one big room done up to seem sort of elegant. But there's no privacy, and it's loud. Prices would be fine, if the food were good. But we won't go back. more

Stockpot what happened??Your wine list? 5/9/2006

We orginally posted this: ""If you love good food and an excellent wine list, don't give this a miss."" True, the food remains consistent, but the wine list has deteriorated. They used to offer local as well as international top quality wines for a reasonable mark-up, but no more. Now it's plonk, not worth a QPR. They still have a few nice wines in their cellar, but they have jacked up the price that's ridiculous. Sorry, we aren't that impressed. The service is ok and the food is good, but we miss the old wine selection. \r Oh, and you have to ask for proper stemware, they seem to have an endless supply of Libby type stems and they are horrific. Pros: Food Cons: wine list used to be top, now it's not even worth the trip more

It's great even if you don't golf 4/6/2006

Located on the golf course, it has a good veiw if you like to watch the 19 hole. the food is very good and the portion is good although not huge. Who needs huge? Service was super, parking was aplenty. Nother really to complain about. I have eaten there for years and never been disappionted. more

Excellent Service, Good Food, Great Prices 3/4/2006

Upon entering the Stockpot, we were a little disappointed because it seemed like so many banquet-hall type restaurants that you can find all across America. We heard that the ambiance was great but were not that impressed (it is, after all, a restaurant on a golf course). However, we were fairly pleased with the food (from appetizer through dessert) and were incredibly impressed with the service. It's been a long time since I have been in a restaurant that has a number of ""older"" waiters who seem to be a throwback to the days of old when service was #1 important. Throw in a little humourous banter and it really adds to the overall dining experience. We ordered wine and champagne with the meal and were shocked that the bill seemed so low--but we have thought that about everything since we moved here from NYC. We will definitely go back. more

Wonderful 9/1/2005

I went here on a whim and it was a wonderful place the sticker price is shocking but well worth it. The food was wonderful and so was the service. my only complaint was that you have to make a reservation to get any kind of decent seating but all in all the place is wonderful. Pros: Food, Service, Menu Cons: Reservations, Price more

Insane 8/14/2005

I am so confused how anyone could enjoy this restaurant. Perhaps we just went on an extremely off night, but it was like dining in a sterile lab. There was no atmosphere to speak of and the food was dry and tasteless. I actually found myself wishing at one point to spit the food out rather than finish the piece of fish I had placed in my mouth, so offensive was the food. The sea bass had no moisture and was on a bed of similarly tasteless and dry rice. The crab salad had three shrimp, three scallops, and a bit of crab with a lot of mayonnaise and a TONNN of lettuce....but no dressing, sauce, etc. The servers were all so very friendly and it is unfortunate that such kind people are serving such bland and dreary food. more

Dinner was incredible!! 6/12/2005

My friends and I had a wonderful dinner at the Stockpot last night. The lobster and crab salad was great. My steak was exceptional. Our server made our birthday celebration special. Pros: affordable, Great Service, Excellent wine list more

Great Experience!! 6/6/2005

Went the other night to our office party and had a great time. The Lobster Bisque is a must have! My crab-stuffed halibut dish was also excellent. It was so good I wish I had saved room for dessert! The service was attentive and friendly. Great view of the golf course and I will definitely be back for more! Pros: Food, Service , View more
