Form your own opinion 10/19/2013

I don't ever write reviews because honestly I think it is human nature for people to only say negative things instead of positive comments. But since my husband relied on reviews when we made our decision, I am writing one. We read all of the negative reviews for The Pool Store and even had other companies tell us not to call The Pool Store, yet we did anyway. The comment about them using subcontractors for everything was completely untrue- they only subcontracted the digger and the electrician. And I'm pretty sure there isn't a pool company out there that digs or does the electric themselves. Anyway, our pool was completed in 3 1/2 weeks and that even included delays from the township with inspections. The Pool Store and Toni did a great job with our pool and I will recommend them to all our friends. more

H2O to go 7/7/2013

I stopped in the store to get a price to install a new pump for my in-ground pool. I was told someone would call. No call after two weeks. I stopped back into the store to see why no call was made, and was told someone will stop by the next day...well that never happened. Two days later two men stopped and took pictures of the area. Still no response one month later. Toni is very arrogant and has no patience.\r I saw two of her ex-employees and they both said the same thing, (one works at (Leslies Pools ). They are not customer friendly.\r They quick to sell you something but are very poor at service. At some point they will have no customer base. My guess is Toni will reopen under a different name elsewhere. Run away fast...very fast ! more

Find another reputable company 5/24/2013

I had a pool installed last year by the Pool Store. Toni (and the rest of her staff) were friendly and informative. I received a decent pool at a fair price. However, I would not recommend this company to anyone. They consistently miss appointments and fail to call and inform you why or setup a new date. This pattern and behavior occurred for EVERY step along the way after the dig was completed. It continued this year with my pool opening. They were scheduled to begin the process on 5/7 and did so. They were supposed to return the Friday or Saturday after to finish. It's now two weeks later and still the opening is not finished. Do not do business with this company, you will surely be disappointed. more

Reading the Headlines of Today! 4/8/2012

After reading the reviews about the "Pool Store" I felt compelled to write about my experience with this organization. Toni, (owner) from the Pool Store really does know her business. She is very good at providing a convincing story and creating a confidence in using her company. This is where the compliments STOP! The organization Toni has assembled simply can not support the story being provided. The Pool Store sub-contracts virtually every aspect of the installation therefore, they are in control of nothing. The success of any installation greatly depends on the time in which you schedule it. Volume of work is NOT their friend, they can NOT keep up with schedules and promises. Their customer serivce is virtually non existing. I have read in several of the other reviews where there were follow up phone calls and visits on the installations. I believe this was probably true. Great Experience 7/13/2011

I don't usually pay attention to reviews or write any reviews, but after my experience with The Pool Store, I had to. My husband was concerned about hiring The Pool Store after reading the negative reviews but after meeting with Toni he decided to go with her to build our pool. Not only was our inground pool completed within three weeks, the owner herself came out three times. The guys that work for her were pleasant and very neat. We did not have any problems with anyone in the store or with the guys that built our pool and would highly recommend them! more

The Pool Store is excellent! 6/29/2011

The Pool Store has serviced our in-ground pool since they opened. Their openings and closings are relatively inexpensive, and I don't think I have ever been sold something that wasn't truly needed. The staff is professional and hard working, and Toni the owner is hands on and very knowledgeable. I feel lucky to have the store so close to my home. more

Pool Store Busted 6/13/2011

I find it funny that this company made me so angry I had to go to lengths to write this review. First I was reading these reviews and noticed all of the good reviews had *in-ground written in them. And a timer on the install. Wow. How pathetic. They made me so many promises and could not deliver on one. I walk into other stores and certificates hang on the walls. Not this one. The owner has been part of many companies and just starts a new one when it doesnt "work out" Please please. The money you are saving is not worth the money you will spend to fix their mistakes. This company has only been around 3 years and 23 reviews. Budds 50 some years 13 reviews. Something is fishy. The 5 star reviews have in-ground written and a time stamp. the worst customer service ever. i had to make several calls just to get a quote on a heater.every time i call no matter what time of day ,all i ever get is the answering machine. after the 5th day someone finally answered the phone. he took my name and info and he said he would call me with the quote.that was 4 days ago. i stll have not heard back from them. don't waste your time with this place, they are very unprofessional...thank god they didnt call me back. i just heard from my friend that the pool store installed his heater up wrong and took forever to repair it...what a nightmare it must have been for that poor guy.....stay away...far away from this unprofessional place more

The Pool Store 5/25/2011

Since I always read reviews and appreciate the consumers that take the time to write them to help inform others, I feel compelled to rate this particular business as my first ever review. While I think it is possible to have a pleasant experience with this pool company and end up with a beautiful pool, consider yourself lucky. The owner, Toni was 40 minutes late for our initial appt. and didn't say a word about making us wait. She is knowledgable and answers basic questions quickly but becomes somewhat irritated if her fast-paced speech is interrupted with a question or concern. She seems capable of completing a job but her harsh personality should be a red flag to any potential client. She displayed very unprofessional behavior and her employees seem to have to make excuses for her moods. Keep this review in mind if you meet with her and I think you will see what I mean. more

Just started my new pool 3/28/2011

The Pool Store just started building my inground pool. The pool was dug, built and had electric done in 5 days. Just as she said, the office calls me almost every day to let me know what is going on and the owner has already come out just to make sure I was happy with how it was going. So far, the experience has been awesome. Now if we could just get some warm swimming weather. more

Really good people. The Pool Store built my in-ground pool in late summer of last year (19 days) and installed our safety cover in October. They called the other day just to see how we enjoyed the pool in the summer and to make sure the cover looked good after all the snow. Glad we met with and chose this company. They really care about their customers and build a beautiful pool. more

New In-Ground Pool 11/30/2010

They advertised an inground pool complete & installed for 20K. I called expecting them to try and upsell me, she didn't. No pressure. I bought the advertised special, it was installed in 18 days. The pool is beautiful, the workers were very polite and cleaned up the yard. The girls in the office called me constantly to let me know what steps were next, inspection schedules, etc. I just saw they were voted one of the Best of South Jersey. So glad I chose this company. Don't know what they are doing 10/29/2010

After I stopped in the store 2 times and called a few times The Pool Store still has not resolved installing my cover correctly. I will never use this store again for service work. When you question Toni she is arrogant and treats you like your trash and don't give a dam. \r \r If you want to be treated like trash and be aggravated then use the Pool Store more

Beautiful Pool 9/1/2010

The Pool Store just built my in-ground pool in 16 days - start to finish - filled with water in time for my son's birthday/swim party. I could not be happier. The worker's were courteous, cleaned up the yard every day, I got phone calls to let me know what the next step was, the owner came out during construction and called to see if I was happy. Very very pleased. Beautiful pool. more

Knowledgable Company! 8/27/2010

Very knowledgable pool company. I have had my pool for 15 years. Every other pool company had these kids testing my water and every time, I got a laundry list of things I had to buy. At The Pool Store, half the time I go, they tell me my pool water is perfect and that I don't need a thing. When I have a problem, they give me the correct solution at the lowest possible cost. The employees seem to really care about my pool and their customers. Prices are low too. more

In-Ground Pool Buyer 8/5/2010

Both my neighbor and I went with different pool companies - so glad I chose The Pool Store. My pool start date was 8 days later than his and done 3 weeks before his was completed. His company (I won't name names) destroyed his driveway, his lawn and he incurred so many extra charges. Tony, the owner sold me the pool and everything went exactly as she said with NO hidden fees. She even came out during the installation and after to make sure I was satisfied. Great job! I will refer them to everyone. more

In-ground Pool in 19 days! 7/3/2010

This company built by in-ground pool in 19 days. I never once had to call them to find out what the next step was, they have a girl Lil that called me to let me know what was going on every step of the way. The installers cleaned up the yard every day and were very professional. The owner, Tony sold me the pool and came out throughout the installation to make sure I was happy. I have heard horror stories about pool companies but heard good things about The Pool Store so I went with them. I am so VERY glad I did. Awesome company, beautiful pool. more

S.D.'s comments could not be better. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They will not show up on the day(s) that they are scheduled. The communication with this company stinks. You will need to keep calling them to get them to follow up on the work that you paid them to do. YOU WERE WARNED!!!! more

Good Company 5/20/2010

I used to work for another pool company that competes with The Pool Store and just quit because I was tired of getting yelled at everyday by irate customers. We were HIGHLY encouraged by our boss to write bad reviews against The Pool Store because we could not compete with their prices and their customer service. My own dad shops there and says the people and prices are awesome. more
