Best

This past Saturday I made a surprise 60th birthday party for my wife. Anthony (chef/owner) could not be more accomodating.

Worst

The only thing the Pearl Room is good for is checking out the locals. I would recommend Samms instead. The food was loaded with salt and garlic, ugh. The service was inattent...

Classy seafood joint? Not quite... 2/22/2008

Although I did have a very nice evening at the Pearl Room, it was not what I expected after reading many reviews of it. I had the impression that it was an upscale, elegant restaurant with excellent seafood. It is not that. Pros: Pleasant service, okay food Cons: Noisy, sports bar-esque more

Always a great meal. 12/11/2007

I eat here all the time and decided it was time for me to give it its due. Really cool bar scene, nice romantic tables, great menu, great service and the dipping sauce they give you for your bread is terrific. I highly reccomend the mixed grill. If you haven't been...deffinately RUSH to ths place! more

Pearl Room gift certificate? 10/22/2007

Many times before I have arranged for gift dinners all over NYC for friends and family simply by calling a given retaurant and providing my personal info & CC#. However I called pearl room for a week and call after call was hung up on or told fuggedaboutit, youz gotta come down hea and git da certificate in person. Right, a 2.5 hour drive to Bayridge so I can give a gift for friends who live three blocks from Pearl Room. To bad we will never know if the food was great, because the service... well you know. more

Blah... 5/24/2007

I have been here now twice, once on my daughter's birthday on a quiet night and once to impress friends visiting. Both times I have been disappointed. Maybe my tongue has been spoiled by all of the food available in Manhattan, but there are MUCH better restaurants in the city for less money. The restaurant is beautiful, but that is about it. The service is okay, but nothing extra, nothing more special than you would get in a local diner. The food has always been a disappointment. I've had the gnocchi, tasted two or three types of beef entree's and two different seafood entrees. Both entree's I've had were too salty and the flavors not balanced. Considering I spent over a hundred dollars for one appetizer and three entrees, I would like to be impressed. My aunt's risotto was flavorless... goey rice with Elmer's glue flavor. I've read all of the good reviews and I keep feeling like I'm missing something. The restaurant is too expensive to warrant another trial. Pros: Pretty Restaurant Cons: Food, Price, Service more

Great Anniversary Party 5/3/2007

While looking for a venue for my parent's 30th anniversary party, i was taken by the Pearl Room's atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff. IChef Rinaldi was very pleasant and very accomodating, somwhat refreshing as compared tp two other restaurants tha I had met with recently.\r \r The night of the party always brings a bit of anxiety but I must confess that the evening was indeed a gem.\r The food was tremendous, with the Chef upgrading our choices from what we had originally agreed upon. We had last minute changes and requests that were handled excellently. As with any busy restaurant (after all would you have an affair at a restaurant that had no customers) the staff was quite busy, bit always ready to assist when needed.\r \r At the end of the evening we had many good comments from family members and guests who enjoyed the eveing thoroughly. Most importantly I was stress free.\r \r I highly recommend the Pearl Room for not only parties but it is also a great restaurant.\r \r Pros: Excellent Party Venue more

Fantastic!! 3/11/2007

I come to the Pearl Room about once a month and it has yet to leave me wanting more!! The food may be expensive, but the quality is worth the price. I have yet to wait more than 20-30 minutes for a table, but I would wait as long as necessary for the Tuna Tartar! I haven't had such great tasting tartar in all my years and I eat out almost every night. The wine menu is above average with decent prices and the staff is always friendly and accomodating. I hope the quality of the food in this restaurant will set the standard for all of Bay Ridge and keep me wanting to come back for years to come!! Pros: Ambience, Food, Wine, Romantic more

Great Food 2/26/2007

My first trip to this restaurant was a great experience. First the music was excellent and set a very romantic mood for a Friday Night. The decor added to theatmosphere. \r The server was on top of everything with great recommendations and made us feel very comfortable. The rest of the staff was very attentive also. Chef Anthony made sure to stop by the table to solicit our opinion as first timers.\r I had the Tilapia served over a bed of Risotto with shrimp that was a very delectable taste experience. My date had a chicken special that she also raved about.\r \r My first visit of many and I highly recommend this restaurant. Pros: Atmosphere, Music, Food more

Great place for a party. 2/23/2007

I went to the Pearl Room for a birthday party and had a fantastic time. The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive, and the valet guy was so nice that he went to my car to retrieve the camera that I had forgotten in there. The food was great. Pros: Valet Parking, Friendly Waitstaff more

Excellent service, great Chef specials. 1/1/2007

We met friends at the Pearl Room on Dec. 27th. The waiter was attentive, well prepared and friendly. I ordered one of the chef specials, a pan seared tilapia on marscapone risotto. It was spectacular. My wife had the braised beef with noke. The wait staff kept after our every need. The coffee and deserts were terrific. It was a great dining experience. This is our fourth time dining at The Pearl Room and every dining experience has been consistently excellent. Pros: Service, food presentation, quality of food. Cons: parking is difficult, use the valet service more
