Best

This past Saturday I made a surprise 60th birthday party for my wife. Anthony (chef/owner) could not be more accomodating.

Worst

The only thing the Pearl Room is good for is checking out the locals. I would recommend Samms instead. The food was loaded with salt and garlic, ugh. The service was inattent...

Great Food 12/9/2006

Have been here a couple of times already with a few friends and we have always left with a smile on our faces. We loved the food. The only blemish would be it seemed a bit too dark...I think a candle or two around the table would have been just right. Pros: Food Cons: Ambience, Lighting, Parking more

pretty good 11/15/2006

went to meet another couple for dinner this past weekend ... the bar was good and the food ok... service was good too. more

SECRET JEWEL OF BROOKLYN 9/25/2006

FROM THE MOMENT YOU WALK INTO THIS MANHATTAN SETTING IN BAYRIDGE, YOU ARE GREETED WITH SMILES. A VERY WARM AND COZY FRIENDLY FEELING. THE STAFF'S ATTENTIVENESS STARTS FROM THE MOMENT YOU ARE SEATED. IN ADDITION TO THE EXCELLENT MENU THEY HAVE, THE CHEF PREPARES A VARIETY OF ECLECTIC SPECIALS. APPETIZERS, PASTAS, AND ENTREES ,EVEN DESSERTS. GREAT FOR ALL OCCASIONS. IF YOU VENTURE INTO BROOKLYN PEARL ROOM IS DEFINITELY A PLACE TO VISIT. Pros: NOT YOUR AVERAGE BROOKLYN RESTAURANT more

Always feel welcome with great food and service! 9/4/2006

This has to be one of the best places in Bay Ridge! The Food is incredible, the bar has a great atmosphere whether your with a special someone or with friends. It is a great mix of Manhattan fancy with Brooklyn culture thrown in. I am all over the menu and look forward to the next great meal. Bravo to the chef! The servers are knowledgeable and friendly to boot. A class act all around. I have eaten there with my wife, friends and clients and have never had a bad meal or service. Pros: Food, decor & service Cons: Too much food more

Great service! Not worth the food prices 8/9/2006

I cant' seem to figure it out how this place is called the PEARL ROOM but does not leave up to its name at all. Not worth the city prices for a mediocre cuisine. I last remember this place from 3-4yrs ago to be very popular and worth visiting but a guess a lot have changed since than, starting with the new ownership of mother and son. I can't see myself dining here any other time ever. Furthermore, the way this place is being run I would be surprised it out lasts its lease contract. Save your money and your gas. Pros: bar, service, fireplace Cons: everything else that's left more

Great Ambiance - Too Expensive! 6/20/2006

Reading their on line menu, I decided that this was the best place to host Father's Day brunch. When we arrived, it turns out their menu was no longer the same menu they had. Our waiter was nice enough, but I had to ask for coffee 3 times. We asked for water for the table and got one single glass for 7 people! The prix fixe brunch is $18 which includes juice, mimosa, coffee, etc. A couple of folks requested soda instead. The soda was served in small 6oz glasses and we were charged $2.50 per glass. The pancakes plate is 3 small, silver dollar size pancakes for that price. The food quality is good, but the prices are not worth it! Pros: Ambience Cons: Price, Service more

If Customer Service is IMPORTANT to you... 5/21/2006

Let me start of by saying that I don't know how this restaurant was given a yes to ""prompt seating"" - we arrived at 9:00pm for dinner and were not seated till 10:30pm...I understand that we did not have reservations, and maybe they were busy and it was going to be a long wait - However, be HONEST say that from the beginning..we should of left after 30 minutes of waiting but we had read all these really good reviews.. Let me just say...I now regret that we did not leave and go to another restaurant. We finally were seated after an hour and 1/2 in a table in the corner by the stairs, near the kitchen, on top of one another... IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO FEEL LIKE A RESTAURANT IS DOING YOU A FAVOR BY LETTING YOU DINE THERE...THIS PLACE IS NOT FOR YOU!! Pros: valet parking Cons: customer service more

excellent service but .... 1/27/2006

Everything was excellent, but the waiter couldn't take a hint.....When we say we love parmesean cheese, please leave it on the table!!! Pros: ambience, inexpensive Cons: cheap on cheese more

Great Food 11/28/2005

This is a great romantic place for two. Call in advance to make reservations. Impressive menu with large selection of main curses. The T-bone steak is to die for. The prices are a bit height but the food makes the money well spent and your partner will surely enjoy the romantic atmosphere. more

Not so great, not that bad 10/23/2005

We went on a Saturday night. We were told a 20 minute wait, tops. Thankfully they have a great bar with excellent service. 2 1/2 hours later we were given a wonderful table by the fire place. The waiter appeared promptly, took our order, bought us drinks and was never to be seen again. Food was good, but in my opinion, a bit pricey. The place is beautiful. We did have a great time..even with all the noise! Pros: Decor, Bar, valet Cons: pricey, crowded, loud more

The Pearl Room 9/27/2005

Great restaurant: the food is delicious, the atmosphere is very romantic, the staff is incredibly friendly and warm, etc. I give the place two thumbs up. It's located in a quiet Brooklyn neighborhood and the prices are very affordable. The owner also comes around to customers' tables to greet them and see that you are enjoying the meal. My experiences at the Pearl Room was exceptional. I dine here often and recommend it without hesitation to others. more

Great Place, great food 9/3/2005

The menu has plenty of fish choices from a raw bar that offers oysters and clams as well as crawfish, shrimp, and lobster cocktails. Main courses include plenty of pasta, from a simple ravioli with marinara sauce to anolotti. The neighborhood crowd that frequents the place is sophisticated, and the service is pleasant and efficient. more

User review by babydolll 8/31/2005

I highly recommend the pearl room. I have been to the pearl room a few times with different people and everyone seems to love it. Everything about the pearl room is great, the food is delicious the service is wonderful and the place is beautiful. more

Disappointed 8/11/2005

Highly recommended by many. I still can't figure out why. The crowd totally from the early bird special world out of Florida. The food was below average , I'm not a great cook and I could have cooked a better meal. The shrimp was bland and the risotto had no taste. The grilled vegatables had no taste. The steak just sucked. The waiters well just pick one they don't stop coming over to the table. And what's with the horrible array of music being piped in. My advice stay home and save your money more

Not All That 8/6/2005

The evening my husband and I visited the Pearl Room, it was filled to the max, fine. It was very loud, I was privy to everyone's conversations around me and then some. Which was a little like being on the set of the sopranos. The waitress, although friendly, was no where to be found; we sat with our menus for 45 minutes. The calamari was fantastic! The decor is great as well... Our main dishes were bland and boring, and cold.....I did not find it romantic because I felt like I was hanging with Joey and Paulie and Gina and the rest of the family. I would not recommend this spot for dinner. However, the bar would be perfect to meet friends or a date before going to dinner elsewhere. Pros: bar, decor Cons: no privacy, loud, mediocre food more

Company Dinner 6/30/2005

I entertained clients at the Pearl Room on a Thursday evening. The staff was extremely attentive and polite. The food was excellent. Anthony Rinaldi made frequent trips to the table to ensure everyone was pleased. I highly recommend this resteraunt to anyone entertaining business guests, especially out-of-towners. more

Good for everyone.. 6/16/2005

Romantic environment and great service. Great place to go to even for a cocktail and some appetizers. Waiters and waitresses are always attentive and professional. Food is excellent. Chef Anthony is warm and is always fixing up something unique and tasty in the kitchen to send to your table. He is a gracious chef who comes to the table and greets the guests. You will always find a fun crowd at Pearl Room. It is also nice to see a place in which people from all ages enjoy Bay Ridge together. more
