Editorial review from Citysearch 3/17/2014

All rental transactions have the damage waiver included. There is a method of ""opting out"" of the damage waiver fee, it is clearly outlined and explained on the first page of every rental contract and/or reservation. In addition, at the time every customer places a reservation, these items are explained and our customers are asked to sign a statement that they have read and understand our policies. We have no hidden charges in our business model. more

Hidden Charges! 3/15/2010

My bad. I read the Citysearch reviews but decided to use Party Patch for my niece's wedding, anyway. They were unfriendly and acted like I was taking too much of their time, red flags, I should have left but I had already taken the afternoon off (because their hours are strictly business). I had comparison shopped and found them to be comparable on most of the items, however, they insert a fee on linens called a ""damage waiver"". Well it's not - because they keep the money whether there is damage or not and it is a hefty 10% charge! I called other rental companies and they do not have this hidden charge, in fact, one company said: ""That's just another name for a cleaning charge and why would a person rent linens and return them unused, that's the only way Party Patch would have refunded your money."" I've learned, I'll be taking to heart Citysearch reviews after my costly mistake. Pros: Good selection Cons: Unfriendly staff, hidden charges more

high prices, poor service 5/16/2009

My wedding was this year and I decided to use Party Patch based on a recommendation from a friend of mine in the catering business. She bragged to me that PP (Party Patch) had the best prices in the city for all wedding linens and props. At first, I ordered all my table linens, lighting, and props from them due to my lack of wanting to search around to compare prices. I ended up canceling half of my original order because I was able to find cheaper chair covers, archways, and table runners with the assistance of my wedding planner. I was also disappointed in their selection of floral arrangements. I had to pretty much come up with a design for the florist and then was shown a very hideous sample made out of silk flowers; Jennifer informed me ""Now, you can't really go off of this sample because your arrangements will be made up of real flowers."" Hello! The point of a sample to to demonstrate what the actual arrangement will look like. I would never use them again and I urge that brides-to-be search the city before given PP any of their money. Pros: wide selection of linens Cons: high prices, poor customer service, poor communication more

DO NOT USE THEM 4/27/2007

I used the Party Patch for my wedding tent, chairs, tables, linens and dance floor. The whole reason I went with them is they led me to believe they were including the hanging of chinese lanterns in my package which made them the most affordable. Later they said they were not including it and wanted to charge another couple hundred dollars. At that point it was too late to go with someone else and we'd signed a contract with them already so they did this on purpose I'm assuming to recoup the low prices they quoted me to get my business. Their customer service is terrible and they are extremely rude if you have any complaints or issues. Megan Williams is the lady I delt with mostly and she answered my emails in a timely manner until I had an issue with the lantern hanging discrepancy and then she became rude and acted like i was just a dumb Bride. I am a wedding photographer so I understand how the business should work and how clients should be treated. They also threatened to cancel my order and charge me the full ammount just because I wanted them to make good on their promise of providing the hanging of the lanterns. Then to top it all off the day before the wedding they delivered the worst dance floor ever probably on purpose to spite me. It was supposed to be wood floor squares that hook together but it was plastic wood rectangles that wouldn't stay together and kept separating to form big cracks in the dance floor that my shoes kept getting stuck in while dancing. It was too late to have them redeliver a better one as I'm sure they knew so my dad made a plywood subflooring at the last minute (my dad is awesome) and it still wouldn't stay together! When you're spending that kind of money, even if they give good prices, you deserve better treatment than they give. I submitted a complaint to the Better Buisiness Bureau and they refuse to respond. I've heard good things about Arrow in Shawnee so I'd try them if I had to rent anything again Pros: Prices are good but they try to charge you more after you've signed the contract Cons: Deceptive, poor quality products/rentals more
