I first met Kevin and Bo at a fine wine tasting event at a Coors field suite during a game.\r (we won, by the way)\r the two extended me an invitation to the restaurant they call home, located just west of Boulder on Route 36 and Canyon Rd.\r \r as I was heading eastward from the mountains, I passed their beautiful garden and screeched my brakes in order to pull into the parking lot.\r \r every step was a pleasure.\r on my way into the establishment, I walked past a garden which hosted the kitchen's herbs and basic veggies. there is a fantastic patio that wraps around the building and its well landscaped surroundings.\r obviously a chef influences the restaurant's intention...\r \r the bar's low ceilings only begin to express the age and antiquity; a walk into the main area allows a view into the marvelous open seating in the enclosed patio and dining room, sun shining and everything!\r \r the menu boasts a traditional British style; Beef Wellington, Frog's Legs, Escargot, etc, and also explores the modern Americana ideals that entice our palates.\r \r I did not explore the food; Jameson shots were followed by wine, and that's where we stopped.\r the winelist was mouthwatering; the cellar was impressive.\r \r the property was beautiful.\r the next time I will plan a more lengthy stop. more

Mike and Courtney's rehearsal dinner was wonderful (Sept 27th). Everything went smoothly, the food was delicious and the staff attentive. Everyone enjoyed it. It was a very low stress event thanks to how well it was to work with you all. The bill was quite reasonable. The experience was elegant. more

Awesome place for Brunch! Management staff was great, service was wonderful. We sat outside for brunch and it was one of the best experiences of dining out! Never once did we have to wait on anything the servers were attentitive to our every need. We have made up our minds that we will be having brunch there monthly! more

The Sunday brunch buffet is really nice. There are a number of choices for different tastes -- from made to order omlettes to prime rib to oysters on the half shell. My wife and I have made this brunch buffet our wedding anniversary celebration for the last several years, and are looking forward to next year's renewal. more

Our party of 4 all enjoyed the food and the selection was excellent. Have been there multiple times and always have a pleasant experience. The waite staff was very attentive but not overly so which sometimes I find a problem in upscale restaurants.\r We all had something different and each was very good. more

Disappointed 3/8/2011

Went to Greenbriar in Feb 2011, I was extremely disappointed. My wife and I ordered appetizers, dinner and deserts and only 2 of the 6 dishes were really good. Portion size was terrible, my wife's fillet was about 4oz. We eat out about 3 times a week and higher quality restaurants usually have smaller portions than your local Chili's but this was ridiculous. We made reservations about a month in advance and the table was ready when we got there. Decor was nice and the service was very good. I wish I could remember the server's name because she did a good job. But the food was only good and not great. 2 dishes were really good, 3 were ok and 1 was poor. When you walk out of a restaurant and spend $150 for a meal you expect to be impressed, that wasn't the case. If you want a nice restaurant in the Boulder area try Colterra in Niwot or the Flagstaff house. more

outstanding fine dining experiance 1/23/2011

This place has always been a favorite! The service is like nothing you find on pearl street or anywhere else in Boulder. Unrivaled wine list and delicious menu! The duck rendered crisp is the best I have ever had and the Caesar an attraction in itself! Nowhere else does a spectacular table-side preparation like the service staff here! Great for special occasions or just a nice place to catch up with some good friends and really dine. more

Not what it used to be! 10/30/2010

In the past we have enjoyed our dining experience at the Greenbriar. This year it was a bit of a nightmare. The service was terrible; our server was unable to keep the drink orders straight, our food orders were confused and delivered to the wrong people, and in the end the food came at different times and it took a while before we all had our food. We all agreed the food was not very good. The spinach salad was tasteless and overwilted, the prime rib full of fat, and the desserts could easily have come from Safeway. Something has happened in the past year at this restaurant. The service and food quality does not match the price structure. I encourage you to take your dining dollars to a more deserving location. more

Think twice before your next visit!! 10/23/2010

THINK TWICE BEFORE YOUR NEXT VISIT!! Our last visit to the Greenbriar Inn was in 2009, and everything was wonderful. The food was amazing, high quality, and the dessert spectacular. However, we just went in Oct 2010 and they must have changed managers or chefs. The food was absolutely disgusting! Left with a really bad stomach ache. All the buffet items were luke-warm at best. Fish was overcooked. The lamb tasted really old. The buffet serving dishes were so close together that you had to wait several minutes just to get to the next food choice. The baked desserts were too dry to eat. Some made with cheap boxed jello pudding. Service was okay, but not what you'd expect. Hopefully they care enough about their restaurant to make some changes. more
